This is a great spot if coming to London. The tube (the subway for those unfamiliar with the term “tube”) is nearby (two min walk) and the station is Gloucester Square - perfect for catching the Piccadilly or Circle District Lines. This gives you easy access to most popular attractions. There are two small grocery stores and a larger grocery all within an easy walk. South Kensington is a terrific area, feels decently safe, and there are lots of cafes and eateries. As regards the flat itself (the apartment) it is nice. Simple furniture and with all the basics needed in the kitchen including a coffee maker (for pods). The microwave was a little tricky to figure out but worked fine once we got the hang of it. The only things that were a tiny bit challenging were: 1) the loos (bathrooms) are on motion sensors for lighting and it didn’t recognize motion when you are in the shower. So, inevitably I took many a shower in the dark. To get the light to come back on you have to open the sliding door to the shower which would send water spraying. So dark showers were the order of the day but we found it funny. And 2) The flat can run very warm. But opening windows for a cross breeze worked great. I would imagine a good part of the year this wouldn’t be a problem. All in all a very pleasant stay and the staff were friendly, helpful,...
Read moreStayed here for past 2 years for a week - this being my 3rd year for a week. Upstairs neighbour was moving furniture at 11.30pm / midnight and slamming doors. Room was not cleaned even though I paid £250 / night for 6 nights. Last year room was cleaned once every 3 nights. The bins were emptied on a daily basis but during one day, whilst I was in the flat, the cleaner had knocked on the door but I did not hear her. Cleaner walked into the flat without apologising and behaved as if it were my fault that I had not heard her knock on the door. On the last day cleaner knocked on the door at 9am whilst I was in the shower. I answered the door and cleaner wanted to know when I was leaving as she needed to clean the room since I was checking out. I told her that I was legally within my right to check out at 11am. Cleaner looked at me disapprovimgly. In any case, I checked out at 9.30am. Attitude of the cleaning staff is unacceptable towards paying guests. Taking the above into consideration, I am tempted to stay elsewhere next year durning week's stay in London...
Read moreI would not recommend staying at this Airbnb property. While the physical accommodations were decent, the behavior of the duty manager and staff was beyond unacceptable. The duty manager was consistently rude and unprofessional, and some of the staff were inconsiderate and even dismissive of guests' needs.
As someone who has stayed in many different types of accommodations, I have never experienced such unprofessional and disrespectful treatment from staff. It is unacceptable for a property to employ individuals who cannot provide basic customer service or respect for their guests.
Overall, my stay was overshadowed by the abysmal behavior of the duty manager and staff. I cannot in good conscience recommend this property to anyone, and I urge the owners to reconsider their...
