Booking was as easy as it could be for a private 3-person 5-hour trip with Canal and river Cruises. Having a comprehensive email outlining the day to hand we were welcomed aboard Lady A by Mike and a choice of tea or coffee. This went very well with the excellent Bacon and Sausage Rolls bought from the Little Venice Café moored nearby. On a glorious July summers day, we set off east towards Camden. Almost immediately the hustle and bustle of central London became tranquil calm as you travel to parts of London not seen from the road and usual tourist routes. Mike’s easy going and informative style pointing out historic and modern landmarks along the way made the trip even more interesting, together of course observing his very professional barge handling skills which are to be admired at the highest level. Traversing through the locks added to the day as we cruised to our midway stop at the Canal Museum, a most interesting excursion. Mike was yet again imparting more knowledge on us and indeed other visitors to the Museum! Back on-board Mike had prepared a superb and unexpected afternoon tea that set us up perfectly for our return trip. Reaching Little Venice and stepping back on dry land it was hard to believe where the time had gone but we reflected on a most informative, relaxing, and enjoyable day, meeting a truly knowledgeable and engaging person in Mike and seeing London from a very different perspective. Canal and river Cruises are to be most highly...

It was chilly being January but blankets on each seat were a very cosy added touch. Staff were friendly although not chatty. The boat schedule didn't follow the zoo closing times either which we had hoped to get the boat on to Camden but the zoo closed 30 minutes before the boat was due (not sure if it closed early due to the dark drawing in early) so we walked instead. Would like to do it...

Just a gentle cruise with fascinating wildlife through Victorian tunnels and past beautiful architectural houses finally reaching Camden Lock. Have a picnic, drink a glass of wine, or just relax and enjoy your blood pressure dropping to normal. Good...
