Very rarely do I leave a review, but in this case the meal was so poor I felt compelled to be honest. The staff were trying their best, but overall it was a very disappointing experience.
The owners care more about expanding their chain at a rapid rate while charging sky high prices, in an attempt to imitate successful West End Indian restaurants, they forgot that what makes a truly great restaurant is amazing, lip smacking food!
One really has to go out of their was to ruin what are essentially tried and tested, home style dishes that are staples in every local Indian dotted up and down the country.
I have no problem paying for the Trishna’s and the Benares of this world but they deserve the praise and justify the cost.
Our whole meal was comped because we were so disappointed (the fact it was free did not make it any more alluring unfortunately) The chicken in all the curries was dry because they use breast meat rather than thigh The chicken tikka was so dry it was unpalatable The lamb chops were mostly bone, but the price was anything but lean The lamb curry was inedible as the lamb was so tough The vegetarian dishes were extortionate The chicken Korma tasted of washing up soap The papadums we’re the best thing The wild mushroom naan was essentially a naan bread dusted with some mushroom powder, with an offensive price tag that was just insulting
I was told on numerous occasions that they are trying to create upmarket dining experience, unfortunately you can’t eat white table cloths.

Read moreI went in with a friend recently. Hadn’t eaten all day, so asked for poppadoms straight away. Asked three more times and then they finally came. The sauces were nice but they gave you a microscopic amount. I’m not a fussy person, but it was genuinely a joke how little they gave you.
I ordered lamb rogan Josh and my friend ordered Delhi chicken. The rogan Josh was bland and tasteless, like they’d made it from a supermarket jar. My mates chicken could’ve been used as a bouncy ball - it was pure rubber and the taste was awful. Thankfully the onion bhaji was very nice, so he got to eat something…
When we go to pay, I asked if I could leave a tip on card, only to be told that not only would a card tip not go to him, but the service charge also doesn’t go to the staff - the bosses keep it. That made everything make sense - bosses probably skimp on quality ingredients if they’re stealing from the staff too. I would never go back here and give my money to such...

I recently visited Chakra in Little Venice for the first time, and it certainly won’t be my last! From the moment we arrived, the service was outstanding—the staff were incredibly accommodating and professional. A special mention to Yuvraj, who was exceptionally kind and helpful, making our experience even more enjoyable.
Another standout was Flo, who went above and beyond to serve us the most delightful tea, even though it’s not typically offered in the evening. It was a warm and thoughtful touch that truly made me feel at home.
Now, onto the food—simply divine! Every dish was bursting with flavor, beautifully presented, and absolutely delicious. The restaurant itself has a wonderful ambiance, making for an unforgettable fine dining experience.
If you’re looking for authentic, high-quality Indian cuisine in a fantastic setting, I highly recommend Chakra. I can’t...
