pros - free parking, warm environment||cons- found soiled underpants in a drawer and a thick layer of dust covering the shelf the extra pillows were lying on - when the manager removed the soiled underpants from the drawer he blamed the cleaning staff but as there were only 8 guests in the hotel he should take some time to check the rooms that have been booked for incoming guests||cons - the radiator outside our bedroom door creaked on and off all night making it difficult to sleep. The one pillow on the bed was not enough however the pillows in the cupboard were covered in dust.||cons - only 2 coat hangers in the cupboard and a broken hanger lying on a shelf in the wardrobe||cons - there was an unpleasant smell coming from the shower||cons - the TV kept loosing its signal as did the WIFI connection||cons - I discovered that there is no full english breakfast on Sat or Sun only fruit, yoghurt, juice, toast (Jam & butter) tea or coffee||cons - breakfast over the weekend is btwn 8am & 9am which I personally find too early||cons - arrived to discover the road to and from the hotel would be closed from 9,am till 3pm the following morning due to the 1/2 marathon (would have liked to have been advised of this at the time of booking) as there were other places we could have stayed at that would not affect our stay. The manager offerred to let us stay in our room till 3pm but as the room was not very clean, TV didn't get a good signal and breakfast was soo early in the morning we decided to...
Read moreA very cute small guesthouse with comfortable, clean and well appointed rooms. I was personally welcomed by the owner who gave me a tour of the facilities and good conversation. The bathrooms were shared but well kept and everything worked well. Some toiletries were provided, but it would be best to bring your own. The bed in my room was a little too comfortable (I didn't want to get up) and lots of pillows and cushions are provided. Tea and coffee are in the room along with a fridge; handy if you are staying for a few nights. There are only four rooms, so noise and bathroom queues are not an issue, other than some traffic noise. My only negative comment would be that there is no way to control the heating; my room was sweltering and I has to open the window and run the fan. Perhaps this is more about personal preference. I paid £54 via Booking.com, having booked on the day of my stay. It was definitely worth the money. I will be back. Thank you...
Read moreI needed somewhere cost effective and this had decent reviews. Not far from the railway station and the centre of town. The entrance nearly made me re-think my plan and I looked longingly over my shoulder at the EasyHotel across the road! Yes. That bad! You have to call the number on the tatty door. Literally no other part of the accommodation in show. ||Delighted I didn’t walk away. The fabulously cheerful and chatty owner let me in and spent a good while talking me through then place. A very clean and tidy set of rooms with perfectly modern and well appointed bathrooms and toilets. Great value- just don’t be put off by the...
