The Lakefront Anchorage — Hotel in Alaska

I am writing this review on behalf of my elderly mom. She traveled to Alaska on a group tour in Aug 2025. This was the last hotel on their trip itinerary. The hotel needs renovations as the rooms smelled musty, carpets were visibly dirty and there was no central air. There was a window unit that made a loud horrible noise which made it difficult to sleep at night. The experience only got worse when my mom's flight was cancelled the next day. She was put in an unfortunate position with no where to sleep and looking for accommodations late at night. She called the Lakefront Anchorage since that was the only hotel she knew in the area and they proceeded to charge an inflated rate of $1170.40 for one night, way above their standard nightly rate of $400-600. Once my mom returned home, she attempted to contact the hotel headquarters to give feedback but received no response. I called the hotel manager on her behalf and spoke to a women who was very rude and basically told me the hotel can charge whatever they want at any time of day.
