Overall great experience. I booked through Costco and having never been to Disney or Southern California I was going in blind. I read reviews and knew what price point I wanted to be at so thats how we ended up here. We stayed 5 nights, and I honestly can't understand some of the reviews I've read that have been negative. So I wanted to list our experience..... We got in late and were welcomed by super friendly staff. I was already aware by the pics that this is "motel" style meaning the doors are on the outside. I never once felt unsafe. The lighting was great the parking lot was gated so people that weren't guests couldn't come and go. Since I knew this was an outside entry I did bring some extra security measures with me, but never felt that they would have been needed. The room was clean when we arrived. It is a basic room nothing fancy, but the bed was comfortable, the water was hot in the shower, the AC kept the room cool because even in Oct is was 95+ degrees out and there was a fridge to keep our drinks cold and bring back leftovers if we wished. Breakfast was pretty amazing for a free breakfast. There were 3 hot options everyday plus bagles, toast, pastries, fruit, yougert, oatmeal, coffee, juice and cereal. Was it crowded? A little; but we always found a seat and they offer to go boxes if you choose to take it back to your room and not want to be in the crowd. How anyone can complain about this I have no idea. I've been to other hotels with breakfast included and its litterly a box of cereal. I also want to point out it was well staffed food was always being refilled and tables cleaned as people were leaving! The first morning there our TV wouldn't work. This wasn't an end all because we were not there to be in our room, but at night we do like to watch TV to go to sleep. We mentioned this to the front desk on our way out to Disney and when we returned for an afternoon break they had been there and fixed it. They also had completely cleaned and re-made the room and restocked towels, cups etc.... this surprised me because so many people left crummy reviews saying their rooms were never cleaned. Ours was serviced everyday and looked amazing. I know for a fact they even changed sheets because my daughter had a super small spill (would not have even bothered me if they left the sheets) and when we came back on night two the sheets were crisp and bright white. No where did I ever see this hotel advertised that it was directly across the street from Disney, but people have left bad reviews based on location and not having a free shuttle. Again can't figure out why! We live in the age of Google look at the maps if you want to know exactly how far something is. I didn't think the location was bad. We walked to downtown Disney and took the monorail from there. By the end of day 2 we took a Lyft back. I struggled with the ART bus but it was a me problem not anything else. By day 3 I figured it out and it was great and dropped us right in front of the hotel. We did Disney open to close and weren't in our room much but when we were we were comfortable and felt safe. We would stay here again no questions asked. (We never had a chance to use the pool so I can't comment on that, but the...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe just had our stay here for three nights while going to Disneyland and California Adventure for the first time. The hotel is nice, the outside looks like it was recently renovated and in good shape. We enjoyed the pools and hot tubs, loving that there was two of each for people to spread out. You can tell the grounds are well-kept and we loved the animal topiaries around the pool which is a fun addition. Our room was decent, youāre barely in it anyways. The AC unit in the back of the room was older and did not really blow out cold, fresh air. But again youāre not really in the room. It was a bit of a disappointment being assigned to the first floor where it is constant noise and chaos right outside the door. But my boyfriend reminded me thatās what you get with Disney. The free breakfast is the norm at all Best Western properties and is definitely a perk. The kitchen was always busy and crowded but the line moves fast and I appreciate outside seating to enjoy your breakfast outside and away from the noise. The young guys serving the buffet were very friendly and you can tell are hard workers. Overall we enjoyed our stay! The only suggestion which Iām sure many people have is to add more parking spaces. A lot of guests of course are returning at the end of the night from the parks, midnight or later and are very exhausted and tired so to have to drive around the lot to look for an open spot was frustrating. We never were able to park in front of our actual room and to have two spots dedicated to electric charging which was not used is frustrating but I guess the way of the future. We also noticed a large storage unit at the back of the hotel parking which Iām sure is important but takes up at least two or three spots. Please get more parking spaces! I canāt imagine being fully booked like the front desk said, people are bringing more than one car these days because they have big families and theyāre not having enough parking at a hotel to accommodate everyone. And then having to pay $15 a night just to aimlessly drive around looking for a spot is tough to swallow. Overall, friendly staff, close to parks, nice exteriors and a decent spot for an affordable hotel in the area - you get what...

1.0 for Cleanliness: Was shocked to discover a giant cockroach in the shower curtain as my daughter was taking a shower. Confirmed by front desk staff and two maintenance employees, that this is a somewhat common issue specially on the main floor as roaches live in the gardens and love the palm trees. When I complained to the GM, he said that this is not true and not common. I will go with this being true as 3 staff said it was.
I will note that I was offered to relocate rooms but based on what staff said, I didnāt feel this was worth it at 11:30pm. GM did refund my parking for my trouble, which I did not think was sufficient. 2.5 for Location: Very close to Downtown Disney and Parks, 10min walk and 15min walk respectively. However, the best location for the parks are hotels on Harbor Blvd, more direct and saves 5min. 3.0 for Gardens: The gardens and pool area are well kept and beautiful. 1.5 for Customer Service: This is a hard one as the staff at the front desk were not that friendly, even during check-out no comments around āhow was your stayā or āthanks for staying with usā, nothing. However, the staff in the breakfast room are fantastic, very friendly and attentive. 1.5 Overall: This is a Best Western Plus and it did not feel like one. The building is tired and rooms reflect this, specially the bathrooms. As mentioned, I am concerned about cockroaches as I believe this is an issue given what the 3 staff said and the fact that maintenance showed up in my room with a container of Home Defence.
The location is good, but walks to the park will be longer. The complimentary breakfast is also good, lots of choices for adults and small children so big win here. I will also note that there are 2 EV charging stations which is awesome.
Would I stay here again. Right now, I would say no given...
