I found this hotel while looking for hotels within walking distance to Disneyland with a decent price. We arrived in the morning and were greeted quickly at the front desk. The employee was friendly and helpful. We were able to find a room that was ready in the morning which was awesome. She gave us an information sheet, and explained that housekeeping comes every other day for a refresh. She also explained the best way to walk to Disneyland. It is about .8 mile-1 mile walk, and takes around 15 minutes to get to the “esplanade” area between Disneyland and California Adventure. You just walk out the front doors of the hotel and turn right, and walk straight down Harbor Blvd until you reach the entrance area where the busses go in and out. You can also take the public bus there, and you could also Uber too, but we walked every day. It wasn’t too bad of a walk if you don’t mind walking. But at the end of a long park day, our feet hurt and we dreaded the walk. The sidewalk is on the side of a busy street and it does pass through a bus stop where sometimes there are homeless people there. That would be the only uneasy thing we felt about the walk. The room was nice, clean, and stocked upon arrival. The counter space on the sink, which is separate from the toilet and shower for getting ready, was large. The shower head could have used an update and maybe a little more water pressure. Also they provide shampoo, conditioner, and body wash, but I quickly found out it isn’t the highest quality so bring your own if you are picky or concerned. The desk space was also very large. We were able to spread out nicely. We stayed for 3 nights and housekeeping did come for a refresh after the first 2 nights. They emptied the trash, remade the bed, refreshed the towels, and even refreshed the two water bottles that the room came with which was nice for the parks. As other reviews have mentioned, yes, the entrance to the rooms is from the outside, but we did not get the motel feel as others have stated, as the rooms seemed recently refurbished to me. I will mention though that the bed and the pillows were definitely in need of a refresh, as they seemed worn out and not comfortable. However we were so tired from our park days that we collapsed into bed each night and slept fine. The lobby is nice and welcoming, there is a restaurant there for extra pay, as well as a coffee bar area as well. There are plenty of seating available if you are waiting on your ride or something. There are also two elevators. They have a pool with a hot tub, but we did not have time to partake. The only window in the room is facing the front, where the entrance is, but there are some nice privacy and blackout curtains to use when you are not in the room or are sleeping. As others have mentioned, this hotel is right by the highway, and also busy streets so there is lots of road noise. However we had a room on the other side facing away from the parks and it seemed to cut some of it out. Once we were in the room, the noise was not bothersome to us, just walking to the room is quite loud. Upon checking in and checking out, they did offer to hold out bags for us if the room was not ready, or we needed to check out while still going to the parks that day. It is an easy process. They do offer parking here for a fee, but we did not have a car. Check out was also friendly, quick, and easy. Overall this hotel had all the amenities we needed for a quick 3 night stay while going to Disneyland. It was within our budget and within walking distance. Our stay here was perfectly adequate for us. Next time though, I think we will spend just the extra money to stay closer at the Fairfield or Courtyard Marriott. The walking back and forth everyday for almost a mile did a number on our feet and we would pay to stay a bit closer next time. Overall would recommend if you don’t mind the walking...
Read moreMy family and I were so excited to be so close to Disneyland. Well, after driving 6 hours with a 3 month old and 2 year old. This place was not worth it. I was greeted by Julian and he’s attitude wasn’t so friendly. Especially, if you buy your hotel by a third party aka Priceline. For some reason it was a problem. I was happy to show him my receipt and confirmation number. He explained even though I received a receipt that my 300 charge was not valid. That he wanted to double charge me due to the fact my Priceline receipt was not good enough. I reassured him that I would be happy to call Priceline and get this sorted out. He continued to state that it needed to get done in the morning and I needed to come back down to speak to management. He then kept saying I’m not even suppose to give you a room. Like he was doing me a favor and insulting me how the money I spent was nothing. I explained I had my two little kids and we were going to Disneyland all day and how me coming back to the hotel is not ideal. He kept repeating himself so I called Priceline when I told him I had them on the phone he was not happy. I let the representative know and she called the front desk 5 times while I sat there asking him to answer the phone because she was calling. He said “ oh I didn’t see it,cause I’m busy doing paperwork.” But he was standing there ignoring the phone. I was kind of taken back, due to it was midnight and no one was around but me and the representative on the phone. The rep had to call me back due to the card on file she was double checking. Which my card was perfectly fine! So, I communicated with Julian I’ll be back to situate the issue with him, and I left to go tend to my children. Well, I was gone less than 20 minutes I came back with the representative on the phone again, and waited by the desk. I thought Julian may have gone to the bathroom.Or even a quick break. Well he came back, and I explained I had the rep on the phone she was going to call the hotel and if he could pick up the phone so we can resolve the issue. He stated he was busy and he couldn’t help me. Well after that, I told the rep what he said. And I went to my room since I was dismissed and pretty much told he couldn’t help me at this time. Even though, I was the ONLY PERSON IN THE LOBBY. I proceeded to go to the room where I was mortified to find my family in a room where the light shades are all busted and the lights wouldn’t turn on plus the room was dirty. And Julian would not give us the WiFi password or answer questions that my family needed help on. PLUS, there were people outside the hotel building entrance high and standing there like statues. So that was the last straw. I had to book a last minute hotel to stay somewhere else. I STAYED FOR LESS THAN 2 HOURS. Then for some weird reason, a person came in and Julian started to act like he cared but when he asked me why I’m leaving. I told him my room and the situation about my card. He just said well hopefully you find another hotel that will take your card. Which didn’t make sense cause my card was fine. Disregarding the whole hour I tried to work with him or the fact he was disrespectful or the fact I literally drove 6 hours with two children and he still had the audacity to be like it’s my fault that he could not help me. It was a terrible experience. Don’t come here unless you want to be treated like trash....
Read moreI reserved this hotel through the Marriott Bonvoy app for a short trip to Disneyland. I've never been disappointed with Marriott properties, so I didn't do as much research on this hotel as I should have. I sincerely regret not checking the reviews on Google. This hotel is so bad, it sent me beyond mad to just embarrassed for putting my family through the experience. To be clear, the staff were wonderful at every encounter. Unfortunately, no amount of customer service can make up for a hotel so desperate for renovation that it borders on a health hazard. The property makes a fine first impression, with newer exterior paint, and a decent lobby. The exterior walkways on upper floors are always a bit of a disappointment, but I've enjoyed stays in similarly designed hotels in the area, so I wasn't too concerned. It wasn't until we carried our bags to the exterior elevator that we became alarmed. We passed the "guest laundry" on our route, which consisted of 2 ancient machines and another hotel guest smoking a joint while she waited for her clothes to dry. It's legal in California, but it's still a bit jarring to see at the beginning of a family trip to Disneyland. The elevator doors had some graffiti scratched into the stainless, and made some odd noises, but ultimately got us to the 5th floor facing the park...across a 10-lane freeway. We scanned our key card and hoped for the best. At the surface level, the hotel room walls showed signs of many, many patches. The bathroom showed signs of black mold on the tiles, rusted hinges on the door, corrosion on the bath drain, an outdated tiny toilet, and peeling paint around the door frame. The main room door, window, and insulation were so thin that the dated air conditioner couldn't cool the room, even at night. These same aging elements also failed to insulate us from the highway noise...I am legitimately hearing impaired, and the highway noise was enough to wake me up multiple times. The hotel room contained two bath towels for my 2-night reservation for 3 adults (no wash cloths), a broken ironing board, no daily room service (only on stays of 3+ days), a broken bathroom exhaust fan, 3 mismatched decaf coffee packets, and 2 mismatched tea packets. The fire detector/sprinkler shows obvious signs of corrosion, and I wouldn't trust it in an emergency. The light switch adjacent to the sink was repaired with a dead panel, and would never pass inspection by a competent technician- especially next to a sink! I intend to call Marriott directly to report the potentially unsafe conditions at this property, and would not recommend it to anyone prior to significant...
