Wow, what an amazing experience! I honestly could not recommend our time here more. This hotel was great at making things easy for families and contributing to an overall amazing Disneyland experience. From the moment we arrived to when we left, the staff were so welcoming, going above and beyond to make it a relaxing and memorable time.
Randle at the front desk was awesome, working with us at check in and even getting us into our room early so the kids could nap and then head to the water park. He gave my daughter fun princess stickers as well, which she was so excited about and made it extra special for her. Thank you for your superior customer service, Randle! Shelley was very helpful as well and was able to squeeze in a late checkout for us on our last day as we showered from our morning at the water park.
The hotel has a gift shop which was very convenient. Nicole in the gift shop was the sweetest and patiently helped us look for matching t shirts in the correct sizes. We so appreciate her help and amazing customer service. Her and her boss Shannon were both awesome, and Shannon even gave my daughter a complimentary whale and bath toys. My daughter absolutely loves them as souvenirs. I was very impressed with all the staff here, from guest relations at check in and the gift shop, to all those we encountered in passing, like the staff in the coffee shop area, hospitality, and the water park.
My kids enjoyed their time at the water park. It had many options; a warm shallow pool for babies, a hot tub, regular pool, big slides, smaller slides for toddlers, and splash pad fountains. It was a blast. Make sure to make a reservation once you book your room. They have set time slots, but give you a heads up before they close the park/transition to the next time slot which is helpful to give your kids notice before you have to leave.
The hotel was beautiful, clean, modern, and even had many festive Halloween decorations which made it fun and great for more photos. The rooms were clean and updated. We stayed in the double queen room which had a bunk bed and two queens, a small balcony, a cute corner booth with a table, and the bathroom had big light up mirror with good counter space, and a bath tub and a separate shower which was great. It had a mini fridge, microwave, and Keurig machine. You can purchase breakfast at their bistro, but we just got IHOP to go the night before Disneyland and heated it up in the room before we left.
The hotel location is amazing for Disneyland. Itās a short 8 minute walk to the entrance. We were able to come back for the kids naps midday, then head back without losing much time. There are several restaurants close by within walking distance, and even a Mimiās Cafe in front of the hotel. If you ask for a dining guide there were some restaurants listed that had a coupon as well.
Thank you all for a great stay! Traveling with kids can often be stressful and not so welcoming from others, so thank you all for being so sweet and welcoming to our family. Highly recommend this hotel for families looking to have a seamless and memorable hotel experience...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe took our 2 young kids to Disneyland and decided to try this hotel out (we typically stay at the Howard Johnson directly across the street).
When we arrived, we were greeted warmly by the young gentleman working at Valet. We arrived around 2:00pm on Saturday and decided to see if our room was available.
The young woman at check-in who helped me Saturday afternoon was less than helpful. She very unapologetically explained that our suite wasnāt available and that the hotel had no obligation to make it available until 4pm. She offered no other resolution, took my number, told me sheād text me when the room was ready, and was obviously done speaking to me or explaining herself to me. I asked her if there was anything at the hotel that could occupy our time for the next 2 hours, and she responded āThereās downtown Disney, thatās open to the public you can go there.ā I explained we couldnāt go that way until our room was ready and she repeated that the room would not be ready until 4.
We decided to wait in the lobby. About an hour into our wait, we were greeted by another woman with short dark hair. She asked if we had been helped- I told her we had and that we were just waiting for our room to be ready. She asked me to come up to the desk, asked for my name, and said ālet me see what I can do.ā She was able to get us into a different room that was immediately available and arranged for our luggage to be brought up to us.
Marriott, I donāt know who this wonderful woman was, but I do know that you have a gem for an employee in terms of customer service. At the same time, I donāt know who the First lady was (light brown long hair, tall and thin and didnāt have on the same uniform as the others working in front), but her customer service skills leave much to be desired. And Iāll tell you this- that employee almost caused us to swear up and down we would never stay at your hotel again. My husband went down to speak to someone about getting swim diapers, and the same woman was just as unhelpful with him. He ended up going across the street to Howard Johnson to buy them in their gift shop after being told by your employee that they had no options for swim diapers at the hotel (which is strange considering it has a water park and is geared towards small children).
The rest of our stay though was amazing, and Iām so glad we didnāt write this hotel off forever bc we were very close to doing that. Every single employee we came into contact with from that point forward was wonderful and helpful (especially the woman in the gift shop who gave our toddler a stuffed whale on the house). We loved our room, and the food in the bistro is good and very reasonably priced. The water park is better than Howard Johnsonās, and we will definitely be back-(hopefully without having to interact with that one...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMy family and I had a Horrible experience with this hotel. Start off at check in when they had my reservation wrong, had to wait for them to find the mistake after I showed my package email. Next issue was the forced valet only parking, I'll get to the issue later. We booked this hotel for the water park. Which was basically closed off. They had a small 1 ft pool hot tub and small rectangular pool that was packed full. The only bright side was it close to Disneyland. Now the issue with Valet they left somethingon or a door slightly open and let my car battery go dead. They had to jump it and didn't ask me if they could jump it. I had to make a stop to get gas before I headed out of town and my car would not start again from them running my battery dead. So I had to wait close to 2 hours to get a battery and cost me another $250 bucks. I called the hotel to tell what had happened and they valet manger said they do checks which I highly doubt. And they said I jumped my own car that was in valet garage. The valet manger could careless. I ask to speak to the hotel manger, they could not speak to me at time since they were in meet and I was guaranteed they call me by the end of the day. They did not call me back and it's halfway through the next day and still no call back. The best part was my car anti theft kicked in after the battery change and my car radio would not work and my family had drive 9 hours listening to music from phone. I would not recommend this hotel unless you getting dropped off by a ride share or other mode of transportation other than your own car. Updated... This hotel manger is a complete lair they say they have tried to contact me multiple times and that I have not responded. After I have contacted corporate office. If you ever have any issues it's up to the hotel manger for any damage or cost their staff cause you for the hotel to compensation you. This hotel is a joke unprofessional rude mangers. The hotel won't take blame neither will the valet team. They say they took my valet off but charged me for a single day later and I had to dispute it. After reading more reviews seems like they try to get the negative ones deleted that the reason for the high score so I reality I say they probably average more like a 2 star at best Updated They keep saying there is footage of my car in the same spot but they won't show it to me. This hotel just lies and lies....
