I'm not one to leave food reviews, but I had to make one for this restaurant. My friends and I made dinner reservations at Tulum OC and it was by far the best experience. Pedro, our server was so attentive, funny and overall a pleasure to interact with during our dinning experience. He gave us recommendations and guided us through the menu. He also answered all of my questions, which was very kind of him. Drinks: I personally ordered the Spicy Jalapeño Margarita, my cousin ordered the Margarita Flight (Mango, Strawberry, Cucumber Cilantro, and Watermelon), and my friend ordered the Smoked Pineapple Margarita. Overall, the drinks were FANTASTIC! Very delicious! They paired really well with the free chips and salsa (Side Note: THE GREEN SALSA WAS SO GOOD!!) But the drinks were truly perfectly balanced, not overly sweet like your typical margarita. We enjoyed every sip! We can't wait to come back and try other cocktails. Appetizer: My friend ordered the Aguachiles, and it was REALLY GOOD. We would like it to be a little bit spicier, but overall it was very delicious. It also came with home made tostada, and it truly elevated the experience to the next level. Main Meal: I ordered the Skirt Stake Fajitas, and my cousin and friend ordered the Lobster Enchiladas. Let me start off by saying that I was expecting the fajitas to be very bland, but it was beyond savory! The steak was thick, and every piece was so flavorful. I enjoyed every piece. The Fajita veggies were perfectly seasoned and paired perfectly with the steak. And the guacamole and salsa added a perfect balance to the plate. I would get this again in a heartbeat! The Lobster Enchiladas were a SURPRISE. We truly didn't know what to expect since we've never encountered a plate like that before. But it was quite the surprise. Every bite of the enchilada had lobster in it, which was surprising. And the creamy lobster enchilada sauce was truly a surprising and flavorful treat. It blends perfectly well with the enchilada itself. It needed to be spicy, but we managed with the table green salsa. Overall we truly LOVED everything we ordered and can't wait to bring my parents and grandmother to have dinner here in the future. Shout out to Pedro for being so fun and accommodating. He also brought my cousin a cute detail for her birthday. Truly couldn't have asked for a better waiter. Give this place a chance. It's fairly new and they have a very delicious menu.

I understood the ambiance they wanted to create, but they had slightly missed the mark with the decor, lighting, and music. However, it’s worth the visit because the food was good. Recommendations are: (1) aguachile - presentation was a 10/10. Shrimp could have been a bit more fresh but nonetheless good. (2) meat party platter - steak was tough, so I wouldn’t order unless you get it medium rare. Maybe that might have made a difference. There was also bone marrow, shredded pork and chicken - I’d say the chicken was the best as well as the grilled vegetables. (3) lobster chilaquiles - friends enjoyed this one but the sauce and cheese had overpowered the lobster, which was unfortunate. (4) Margarita was a 10/10 - the kind waitress had recommended the cucumber cilantro one and I had thoroughly enjoyed it. The only item I wouldn’t really order again was the soup. Otherwise, I had an enjoyable time with friends.

The restaurant is super cute, it's decorated really cute It was pretty empty so it was nice and quiet with good music. Our service was great. Our server was the bartender and handled the 12 to 15 people that were in there. The food on the other hand was the true problem. The bone marrow was great. But we ordered two dishes that had steak. And the steak was so chewy. I'm not even kidding you when I tell you, you're chewing for a solid two minutes before you can either swallow it or spit it out and it was on both steaks and I ordered one steak rare. The other one was ordered, medium rare. And they were so chewy, was worse than trying to swallow old gum. The chicken was good as well as the shrimp, but that steak was the worst quality steak I have had in a very long time..

Wowww where do I start......

  • Location - visible really close to Disneyland can't get lost.
  • Atmosphere- such a peaceful vacation vibe definitely hits Tulum vibe. Extremely clean and welcoming. When I say clean I mean everything ... the tables, the chairs, curtains and specifically the restrooms. ** Food- I ordered the pork belly with guacamole and it was delicious 10/10. I'm Mexican so when I order such traditional food I prefer to have a disappointed outcome yet I was wrong. It's taste is magnificent juicy and with flavor. My husband ordered the Tacos gobernador and same result delicious 10/10.
  • Drinks- top notch on their margaritas we tried almost all of them. Strawberry, pineapple, and blackberry. My favorite was blackberry I'm that type of girl that less sweet is better yet honestly the taste on all are to die for. Dessert- cheesecake top with a home made blackberry jelly. I honestly don't like cheesecake because I know the making of it is with lots of egg. When I try a dessert and at the end I can taste the egg I will likely not have anymore. This cheesecake was perfect on the sugar and definitely no egg taste at the end.
  • Customer service- I leave this one for last because to me service is the foundation to great success in any business. From the minute we walked in Rafael the owner was warm and welcoming then we were introduced to the other owner Roberto which he had the same welcoming vibe. Angie was also warm and friendly made us feel at home. Our waiter please accept my apology don't remember his name yet I gotta say he made us really feel we were his top priority in everything. He asked over and over how did we like our drinks and if there was something he could do to improve. Honestly the entire teams culture is over delivering in service value with humility and kindness. TULUM TEAM thank you for making my date with my husband feeling as if I was a very special guest. I will definitely go back and try many more things from the menu. Keep up the energetic welcoming culture. Thank you...

We went to Tulum to celebrate my birthday. We were a party of 2 and arrived around noon on a Sunday. The restaurant was mostly empty when we got there but progressively got much busier during our visit. The decor is beautiful, bright and cheery.

I picked Tulum because they offer both vegetarian and traditional, meaty Mexican food. We were not disappointed at all with the menu! It was brunch so we had the option of getting more breakfast or lunch leaning items. I wish I had taken pictures because the food was absolutely stunning to look at and it tasted so incredible too!

The prices are about what you would expect for a nicer/slightly more upscale Mexican restaurant; not expensive, just not Taco Bell pricing. And the portions are great too. The chips and salsas that you get are well above average and delicious-the avocado salsa should be sold by the bottle.

The service was very friendly-our waiter was Leo and he was so sweet from the start. The hostess was an absolute angel and the second waiter, whose name I didn't get, also jumped in to help with our table but, I noticed they were all helping each other out as it was getting increasingly busy and people were sitting all around the restaurant. The teamwork was wonderful.

All in all, it was a great experience from start to finish and I'm so glad that we went in. I can't wait to go back-those potato taquitos are already...
