I should have prayed over my food before eating here last night, I was very afraid I was going to get food poisoning. My water cup smelled like bleach and service was slow. The birria tacos I ordered had a terrible texture and they were bland. My French fries (papas locas) appetizer tasted like straight up taco bell's ground beef. My wife's green enchiladas was also underseasoned and her black beans tasted sour. The service was slow and the only thing we really enjoyed was the margarita. I was mostly concerned about the black beans because they almost made me throw up when I tasted them, they had tiny bubbles and everything. I expressed my concerns to the server and he said he was going to have the manager taste the beans. He shortly came back and said he was going to remove the charge from my bill. I still left a 20-25% tip, however I will not come back to this establishment. I have cooked in professional kitchens the majority of my life, and I was very disappointed by this place, it left an awful aftertaste in my mouth....
Read moreI am originally from Washington State where excellent authentic Mexican food is pretty easy to come by. Since moving to South Carolina 13 years ago I have been trying to find good, authentic Mexican food with no luck. Lots of generic tasting stuff around here that tastes like it came from Chef Boyardee. That changed today! The food is absolutely fantastic, it's just what I was looking for. The staff is great, our waiter was on top of keeping our chips, salsa and drinks topped off. He even took the liberty to bring us some different types of salsa to try. Very professional. Yes sir, thank you sir, etc. The restaurant itself is nicely decorated and clean, the music creates a great atmosphere. I have absolutely nothing that I could possibly complain about. I am just mad at myself that it took this long to find it. This will be a regularly visited restaurant for me. I hope the staff can read this because you made...
Read moreMy Soze (boyfriend) was in the mood for Mexican today so we tried this establishment based on the reviews. The restaurant was located in a strip mall but some of the best local treasures are hidden in ambiguous places. I am split on the review because my Soze's food was better than mine. He had the fajitas and we both enjoyed them. I had birria tacos that were good... They had a great crispy shell, however the flavor left much to be desired. The refried beans were delicious as well and the service was above average although not exemplary. Y'all know what a stickler I am about customer service, so it was just 4 stars for me. If you are in the area... and you are in the mood for Mexican, then go. The ambiance is very nice. There are decorations of Freda Kahlo and very authentic Mexican decor. Overall, I enjoyed the experience and would recommend...
