Purchased a very expensive necklace with pendant online . The chain was much smaller than what was pictured. The chain was about the diameter of sewing thread and the clasp was so small that it was impossible to use it without help. I inquired why the chain was smaller than what was pictured and they had no answer but told me if i would like a chain like the one pictured it would cost about 400.00 extra, I was told at the store in Anderson S.C. that they could put a larger clasp and clasp ring for 106.00, since i could not afford another 400.00 i decided to have the clasp/clasp ring replaced. Two weeks later i was informed that it was ready for pickup. Drove for one and one half hours to pick it up and looked at the necklace and the repair had not been done. You would think that Kays employees would inspect the repairs before calling the customer for pickup. I was told that they would send it back and was going to put "rush" on the repair order and give me a 10.00 credit. Now when the necklace does get back ill have to drive another 1 1/2 hours to pick it up and hope that it is correct this time. I have been buying jewelry at Kays for about 10 years now but this will be my last purchase from them. My opinion is what they are doing is bait and switch. Online sales should match the actual item sold. Very disappointed in Kay's and do not trust any company that would manipulate customers. Now i am going to have to take my wife's jewelry to a reputable jeweler and verify every purchase that i have made at Kay's to make sure that it is what i was told that i was purchasing. Luckily i still have all my paperwork from...
Read moreI bought a ring online that was on a great sale! I was so excited, and it was beautiful. After wearing it a week, two diamonds had fallen out. I took it to the store to have it looked at/fixed (I purchased the FULL warranty). The staff continued to tell me they couldn't find my order (even with my emailed receipt). Finally, they found it and inspected the ring. The lady who looked it over said it seemed as if I was given a ring in which had already been returned and re-sold. She was very nice and apologized. She told me i could wear the ring until they ordered a new one. Then i could bring it in and swap them. She told me it would be about two weeks. After almost 3 months, they called and told me it was in. I went to the store where they gave me the ring in the wrong size (3 sizes larger than I or dered). The lady explained that i did not have the warranty that covered sizing (again, I should be covered in my 30 day warranty for return anyways because i didn't even have the ring that long). I explained that i did in face purchase the full warrant, but she could not find my order at all, yet again. After 30 minutes of searching, she found it. But the ring had to be sent off again for the sizing. I got the ring yesterday and one diamond is pushed down so far in the setting, I'm worriedl it will fall out. It is ridiculous i have had to go through all of this in the same 4 months that the ring was purchased. I will NEVER purchase from Kay's again. The jewelry is cheap. The only reason i gave two stars is because of the one nice lady who explained the ring was returned and...
Read moreThe past two visits to kays has been a big disappointment. My fiance and I went ring looking at kays, I found the ring of my dreams there, well the ring was originally a 7 and one consultant measured and said I needed a 61/2. Later on my fiance went back bought the ring and had it sent off to be sized to a 61/2. He proposed and the ring was huge still so I took it back asked them to measure the ring and its still a 7! I asked was it ever even sent off they SAID yes but I don't believe that, the staff showed no care at all. They then sized my finger again and I was told this time I need a 5 3/8 idk how they got 2 different measurements because I haven't lost any weight. Well yesterday my fiance picks up the ring and its a 51/2 he informed them I ordered a 5 3/8. They insisted him bringing the ring home to see if it will fit. Well it don't, its too tight for my liking and if my finger swells just a little I will not be able to get it off! I'm giving kays a bad review because this has been a big inconvenience on my fiance and I going back and forth to anderson when we live a hour away. I haven't even been able to enjoy my new engagement ring because of this and we had to cancel our engagement session with a photographer because we keep having to take the ring back! The staff showed no care that we have been dealing with this unprofessional behavior! Only thing positive about the overall experience is that we did find a beautiful...
