DXL Big + Tall — Local services in Arlington

On 8/29/2025 at 10:02 AM, my husband and I visited this store hoping for help finding something suitable for a special occasion. When my husband asked if someone could assist with measurements, the associate dropped her head, shook it back and forth in what felt like disapproval, and then laughed at him. In that moment, I watched my husband’s willingness to step outside of his comfort zone completely disappear. My heart sank, because the effort it took for him to even walk through those doors and ask for help was significant. When he tried to explain that he used to be bigger and why he wanted his clothes to fit loosely (XXL-3XL), he was cut off mid-sentence.

We had come in praying we’d be met with kindness and understanding, but instead we left feeling judged and as if we had inconvenienced the lady, the "only" person working at that time (as she so politely pointed out).

This location is wonderful. As soon as I walked in I was greeted by a very friendly woman I think it was Shelly. I was just going to browse around on my own but she immediately asked me some questions about what I was into and I had a hoodie on but I lifted it up a bit to show her a shirt I got from a different DXL location about year ago and in 2 seconds she knew which brand it was and everything. I have been working on losing a little weight And she suggested some size options I probably wouldn't have considered on my own. She was super thoughtful and helpful. The dressing rooms are so cool as well. They are like a copper color that almost looks like a vat or tank and they are on sliding rails and super heavy duty very roomy as well. I usually don't care about dressing rooms but they we very like cyber punk style never seen anything like it very nice. After checking out she packed everything up real nice placed my items in a bag and walked around the counter to hand it to me. She knows how to be a people pleaser. So refreshing to find such good customer service seems rare these days. I will without doubt be visiting again. I hope...

Tried to buy a polo for a funeral. Went specifically to the Arlington store because the app said it was in stock and on sale. When I got there the shirt rang up regular price so I asked the salesperson if they matched their online price. She didn't know so she went and got the manager. The manager tried to tell me I had the wrong shirt so I asked her to find the one on sale because that was the one I did want. She proceeded to lecture me on how they honor the price in the system, so I said fine just let me have the one that's on sale because your app says it's in stock. She then started to talk down to me about how she doesn't just change the price of items all the time and I shouldn't be questioning her salespeople. I again said, where is the shirt that is on sale, I'm just trying to help your person get credit for the sale. I could just order it on the app and turn around and pick it up when it says it's ready and she wouldn't have gotten credit for the sale. The manager still marked down the shirt she claims wasn't on sale, but then she took credit for the sale on...
