We have 4 kids, so we booked the only room that would accommodate them, which is the ADA room. It didn’t start well when we arrived at 4 (check-in time), and the room wasn’t ready yet. The room was well below what I consider clean standards: The sitting chair had some chunky residue on the arm. There was an unsettling, red stain on the carpet. The television screen was very dusty. The bathroom had a strong odor of mildew. There was a water stain on the ceiling above the tub, which may have been the source of the smell. When I unfolded the sofa bed for my kids to sleep in, I discovered crumbs and a toe nail. I guess they don’t change the mattress cover. There was no real coffee in the room, only decaf and tea. When we went down for breakfast in the morning, the staff was rude. I waited at the counter to order breakfast and discovered the young lady who should have been behind the counter out in the lobby chatting with other staff. After she eventually made her way over, I handed her my breakfast order slip and said “thank you”, (politely, without sarcasm). She didn’t say a word to me and took my slip. When the order was ready, I again said “thank you”, and again, she said nothing. I understand it’s probably not a fun job or maybe she was having a rough morning, but common courtesy goes a long way and this was definitely NOT a welcoming environment. I won’t complain about the food because this is Covid times and some things can’t be helped. How disappointing since this is such a beautiful location and one of the few hotels I could find near the water that would accommodate our big family in one room. Never again! I’d rather pay for two rooms in another hotel. Most of the reviews here are positive, so maybe our experience was a fluke. To be fair, we didn’t report any of the problems to the staff so they would have the opportunity to correct them, but I think the issues of basic cleanliness, properly restocking the room and staff attitude shouldn’t require extra attention. We won’t be back.

The view is great and it is located right by the trolley but cleanliness was a major issue. The front desk staff, especially Drina, were friendly and tried their best to be helpful. Upon check in the room we were assigned contained maid service carts and the second room we were given had a clearly slept in and remade bed. We were graciously assigned an upgraded room but upon checking into that room there was clearly cleaning issues as well. There was dirt and something sticky like soda on the duvet, pillowcases and the sheets. The trash has clearly been dumped but the liner unchanged. The overall cleanliness was bad. Staff helped me change the bedding and I wiped the room down with my own cleaning wipes. The next morning two housekeeping staff were conversing in the elevator about not wanting to clean and one was saying how she was not going to clean any stay overs and avoid as much work as possible. It was in bad taste talking that way around guests but knowing the cleaning issues we had experienced made it much worse. We also recieved no stay over cleaning in three days. The room has a great view however the safety locks on the windows were removed and a child could easily fall out of the window was open. The rest of stay went well and we enjoyed the view of the bridge and proximity of the trolley and downtown. I did email management and received no response in return. I've added pictures of the sheets, trash bin, broken window locks, and view. I treated staff a Two because the front desk staff was great but the house keeping was awful. Location would get a higher rating but there are homeless camps in the parking area next to the building and there isn't enough parking.

Do not stay here if you value cleanliness! The rooms are disgustingly filthy. Of course, the hotel and rooms look clean, but upon further inspection you will find hidden filth. Upon our arrival to our first room, the bathroom smelled like urine and I could visibly see yellow residue around the toilet seat brackets. There were crumbs and other filth behind the nightstands, under the bed skirts (dried boogers on one bed skirt), under the chair cushion and under the couch. As well as sticky liquid residue on some walls and nightstands. I spoke to the general manger and she assured they would reclean the room. Upon reentering the room, the bathroom had been properly cleaned but all the junk, dust and dead bugs behind the nightstands were not vacuumed. I then requested a room change, and wouldn’t you know, the same disgusting filthy issues plagued the second room. This room had the addition of one gray sock under the bed skirt and a used cup in the window. It gets even better cause this room had ants.

At this point I was set to leave, but my family pretty much begged for us to stay after driving seven hours to get to Astoria. I relented and endured a very uncomfortable stay after exhausting my search for other lodging options in the area. The front office staff was somewhat helpful but I suspect this hotel has very poor management evidenced by the filthy rooms. The stairs have months of filth and dog hair buildup at the base of each step. Just because this hotel is twenty-five years old is not an excuse for being lazy in cleanliness. The hand soap in on the 1st floor men’s bathroom was never refilled the entire three days we were there. I can’t really say anything negative about breakfast or the pool being limited cause I knew that beforehand and that was satisfactory. There is no leadership at this hotel for housekeeping, and I suspect other areas as well. I didn’t get a discount and DIDN’T suggest or ask for one. For anybody skeptical of this review, I challenge you to inspect the areas listed above, and you will see for yourself. We love the Astoria/Longview area, but I will never stay at this establishment ever again after this experience. I have no confidence that leadership has the ability to run this hotel properly. Again, I challenge anyone to inspect the areas of concern...

My husband booked this room to give me and my two girls a little getaway. He is a Spire elite IHG member and told me what to expect. I have visited other locations and have had wonderful time. However this stay was not as wonderful due to the rude staff whose names are Amy and Jan.

When I arrived I was greeted by amy, I told her i was readyin to check in as my husband had requested early check in for me. In a very rude manner she looked at me did a scoff and said check in isn't until 4pm. She didn't even get my name to check my resv. until I persisted and said well can we at least check first. She then again told me no, said she would call me in a few hours when the room was ready. the policy i understand but the tone and response was not friendly and unnecessary.

I called again at 3 and asked it was ready. She reasoned again with no not yet, I asked if she really was going to make us wait till 4 because then i would just make other plans to occupy my children. She said she would call when it was ready. She did call. At 3:40.

When we arrived again to get our room keys some of the staff(AMY) was not wearing masks, she was behind plexi glass so i guess that made them feel like it was ok, or maybe they simply didn't care.

I was then told there would be a $100 hold on my card which my husband said has always only ever been $20 per night which i have also experienced at other locations ,not sure why this location was different.

pool time was allowed at 30 minutes PER STAY when we tried to sign up she tried to make a deal that it was busy and we needed to be there on time. looking at the list I saw no one else was signed up to swim that day. The room was decent beds looked like a child had made them and the bathroom had hair everywhere, Im sure if I had said anything it would have been my fault because i was rushing them.

Food quality was as expected they did a good job with how to order and having it set up do to covvid.

The view was great and the hotel it self nice. We found a cute little beach area behind the hotel that my girls loved playing at because it was empty.

Overall I suppose I recommend this place but be prepared for some of the staff ( Amy & jan) to not be friendly or kind and at...
