Triangle Tavern — Restaurant in Astoria

My friend had never been here before (after years of living in Astoria) and I just moved here, so we decided to go. I'm autistic and loud naturally. And I'm not sure if it was because of that, or because I'm a loud and confident woman, but after two drinks, the bartender cut me off. He assertively took my friends drink after I took a sip and said "I cut you off" and aggressively poured it out. It felt like a man trying to assert power tbh. We went across the street and had no issues. And the bartender there said this guy tends to cut people off whenever he feels small. I have never been cut off before, and my friend had 3 more drinks than me there. It really feels like it was because I'm a confident woman and they're not welcome. Save yourself the time and go to the workers tavern across the street. That being said, the atmosphere was good. I tipped 20% out of morals but...

My friend and I were in Astoria as it had been a childhood dream to come here and check out the Goonies sites. We were looking for a place to grab some food and drinks and came in here because our 1st choice was full. Willah (spelling?) was at the bar and we asked her for a food recommendation. She gave us a few options nearby, once of which was the Mexican place across the street. We ended up going there and had the best time, so we wanted to come back to say thanks and have a drink.

We ended up staying here the rest of the night. It was the perfect, clean, dive bar. We talked to some locals, laughed, had fun and felt like we were one of the neighbours. Wow, just walked in and ordered a specific drink that was apparently too complicated for the fat, slob male bartender that refused to serve me, because he felt I didn't need to drink. 54 yrs old and never been denied service in my life. Walked a block away and didn't have a problem at 1926 tavern. SHAME ON YOU. Seemed like a locals only bar and I didn't fit in. Do better. P.S. I see another customer had issues with him.
