In this review I'm going to cover staff professionalism, location, and room quality. This all regards my week-long stay at this hotel in mid-September of 2025.
Staff professionalism: I arrived at the hotel shortly after 3:30pm and check-in starts at 3pm. Upon arriving, I was told that my room wasn't yet ready and it would be 5 minutes for it to be ready. The staff member said it was because the room was being inspected. So, I sat patiently. About 20 minutes later I was still waiting and asked if it would be much longer and that I had an event to attend that I was already running late for. The guy's response was to smile at me and say, "Don't worry... you'll make it to the event," in a very familiar fashion. I found his cavalier attitude about my time commitment really inappropriate. Also, his response didn't come with any demonstration of accountability or concern for my time. Not even an apology.
Two days into my stay at the hotel, housekeeping came in to provide service while I was out. Everything was fine, except that they took dirty towels out and didn't replace them. Since I already had more towels than I needed, I let it go. Another two days passed and the same thing happened. In both instances, I left a tip. Not that it's relevant, but I like to tip for good service, but if service isn't going to be good, I don't want it at all, so the "Do Not Disturb" sign stayed on my door from this point forward. I maintain my space pretty cleanly and really like room service for the towels and linens, which was being done in a half-assed fashion. So, when I got back to the hotel and noticed that housekeeping did the same thing, I called the front desk to request towels and was told they would be brought up shortly. An hour later, I decided to go down and get them myself. I informed the staff person of the oversight by the person who I spoke with on the phone and she got defensive saying that it wasn't her that I spoke with.
On first night at the hotel I stopped at the front desk to ask for a reminder of the time that breakfast was served. I asked if it was 6am or 6:30am and the response I got from the woman I asked was a very sarcastic, "Let's go with both," then she proceeded to look it up on the one-sheet that guests (should) get on arrival. Setting her sarcasm aside, I was surprised that she didn't simply know this.
The level of blame-shifting and lack of willingness to take ownership of a situation that I experienced with the so-called professional staff was astounding.
I did interact with some of the cleaning and kitchen staff, and they were all perfectly nice and seemed to care about the guest experience much more than the front desk staff seemed to be.
Also, it might be important to note that I speak in a fashion similar to how I write, specifically in that I tend to be fairly rational and level-headed in my interactions.
Location: The primary thing that I noticed is that it's hard to find casual restaurants close by. There's a great cheese steak shop nearby, that I recommend, but everything else seemed to be either low quality or expensive. Also, there's nowhere to pick up small snacks close by besides the hotel front desk.
Room: I was in a king suite with a kitchenette. Now, I accept responsibility for not thinking about the lack of a refrigerator a little more at the time of booking, but it surprised me to notice how useless the rest of the kitchenette was without a fridge. Where was I meant to get food to cook or heat up on the countertop burner? I didn't have a fridge in which to keep leftovers and there's no grocery store close by where I might pick up something to cook.
Besides the kitchen, I found the room quite pleasant.
Common areas: The gym and pool are decent for a 3-star hotel; I might even say they're slightly above average.
Breakfast: Breakfast was served daily and was good. Every day there were eggs, home fries, a breakfast meat (varies), some carb dish like pancakes, fruit, a small selection of cereals, oatmeal, and a selection of bread/bagels.
I don't...
Read moreEdit: lol imagine giving the same canned response to everyone that has had their belongings stolen here. So sorry we took your stuff. Come back so it can happen again! 🫶 Original review: $700 in personal property stolen with apathetic staff. My friends and I were severely disappointed with our stay here. Housekeeping is stingy with things like toilet paper and it takes a lot of harassing to get anything, but we had been overall happy with our stay until my Airpods and Switch went missing. At this point I have proof that my belongings are in some random town 17 miles from the hotel. I don't live in Georgia, so when I saw my stuff there I knew someone went into our room. It took the hotel over a week to perform an investigation after we had spoken to them multiple times before checking out of the hotel that I had missing items and I then called the same day as checkout when I had proof confirming my stuff was in Georgia. They allowed another party to stay in the same room we stayed in before performing an investigation and it took me leaving negative feedback for even that to happen. It has been almost 2 months since my stay and it has been a nightmare getting any information out of this hotel. I called Hyatt customer service and they confirmed that the hotel hadn't so much as created a case for me and as she said "They must have been trying to deal with this internally." Well waiting over a month for insurance to so much as contact me is unacceptable and dismissing my calls and ignoring my emails for the number to their insurance speaks volumes to how little the staff care. I finally got a number, but this has gone on for way too long for this hotel's image to be mended. The first couple of days I stayed here both maintenance and housekeeping kept coming to our door claiming that we had asked for something to be fixed or for more things. We didn't. After we took "do not disturb" off of our door it was impossible to get anyone to show up to just give us toilet paper and towels. The fact that after staff were able to enter our room we were suddenly being ignored left and right says to me that they got what they wanted from our room and therefore didn't have any reason to come back. The lack of care from management and their own security guard telling me "People steal things" says that this is a normal and accepted occurrence at this hotel. I stayed here over the labor day weekend for DragonCon. DO NOT STAY HERE. Find anywhere else to stay. Do not have your trip ruined by your things being stolen. I'm sure staff is overworked and underpaid, but that's Hyatt's problem. Not the the problem of the customers who put money into the business. I typically am patient and understanding, especially in service jobs. I know how hard they are, but this is unacceptable and based on what I have seen from others staying at Hyatt hotels this is a company that refuses to take responsibility for anything that happens in their hotels. Stay away from here and probably best to avoid Hyatt as a...
Read moreTHE PICTURES ARE LIES!!!! This place is a dump! Credit Card info was STOLEN!!!!!
Not even three weeks after our horrid stay here with them insisting on seeing my card, I had to close it due to fraudulent charges being made!
Credit card terminals were down. They told me that I had to allow them to make a xerox copy of my credit card or leave and find some place else to stay at 6 o'clock at night after booking a reservation months prior and being given no other option to pay as they are a cashless facility. The room that was decent enough in size for a king (not a king bed) suit with a kitchen. But they provided NOTHING to clean with. No pod for the dishwasher, no dish soap and one little hand towel. The refrigerator could be knocked over with one hand. The stove was dirty, microwave was dirty, there was a coffee cup that was clearly used in the cabinet. The only thing left for cleaning anything was one round of hand soap, in the bathroom, about the diameter of a fifty cent piece and not a soap dish in sight. There was mystery debris on the walls and a dirty light switch. The bathroom shower is all of 25 inches wide with mildew on the tiles. There's exposed plumbing. Don't expect water pressure either. 1970's sliding closet door that was used as the bathroom door with some clunky 4x6 inch metal square that was supposed to lock the door. It didn't. The hair dryer broke while using. BRING A POWER STRIP. LIMITED CHARGING ports. As in ONE. Asked for maid service and fresh towels. It never happened. Front desk said a full cleaning of the rooms is only once a week. You read that right. I asked FOUR times for an extra blanket for my daughter. That finally arrived. Clean towels never did. The air conditioner went out. They did send repair for that quickly. So quickly that he got the carpet soaking wet, didn't clean it up or inform us it was wet. I found out when I walked through the room in my socks and got my feet wet. So we avoided that side of the room for the rest of the night and next day. The blackout blinds didn't sit in the track so they weren't black out at all. Skip breakfast if you want hot food. There was one toaster but the heating element was bad. The pool does NOT look like the pictures at all! Small and crowded!!
An additional $55 a night to park as well!
No one seemed to really care. I called Corporate. They just sent me right back to the hotel manager who never did address my concerns directly. I know he got the email. The clerk that checked me out was sympathetic and kind and did give me a discount. Though it made me feel better to get it all out and feel heard it did not change my opinion of the property. I almost forgot the can of Watermelon Rita that sat on top of the tiny icemaker in the hallway the entire three days we were there. I've got plenty of pictures to share.Just ask. Save yourself the trouble and stay...
