SEATING and TICKETS The views are great regardless of where you sit. Due metal seats and hot Georgia sun, some sections are hellishly hot all game long, while others are shaded once the sun goes behind the west stands. Stinger Seats (seats with padding and backrests) are recommended or bring a cushion. Check the rules beforehand so you bring the right kind. The season ticket process is orderly and works with us to try and get the seats we want.
MUSIC and SOUND The Tech spirit is high with the great Georgia Tech marching band in the north end zone. This year the band director has coordinated with the recorded music folks so each now plays without overlapping the other.
Traditional spirit songs and cheers as well as motivational music for the players mix well. Tech has a lot of traditions and band music is a key part of that tradition. Acoustics are good, however the volume of the loud speakers can be painful at times. To their credit, when we asked the season ticket rep to pass this on, the sound was much more bearable at the following game.
STAFF All stadium staff are friendly, polite and helpful. The contract group Wess Security is professional and quick to handle any issue that arises without making fans feel like we are under intrusive scrutiny all the time. The GT police are and have been (as long as I can remember from my student days) professional, friendly, helpful and good at what they do.
CONCESSIONS and FACILITIES Food stands are evenly spread out with a fair variety of food and drinks in all sections. Hurray! This year Non club seat members can purchase beer and drink it at our seats. Thank you stadium food and drink controllers. Order and pay ahead pick up points are new and reduce lines and waiting. Season ticket holders get a discount.
The bathrooms are clean and as a lady, I can say the wait is not too bad if you time it properly.
The stadium is in good repair, clean and otherwise pleasant to be in.
AREA OF CONCERN My only concern is access for impaired but not wheel chair bound guests. Elevators are not available for use. I have difficulty walking up and down stairs and even ramps are hard. Granted I have not asked about assistance but I am supposing if they were available for us, it would be posted. That is the reason why I did not...
Read moreHad a great time at Bobby Dodd Stadium! Our Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets pulled out a victory against virginia in overtime. Even though I was sitting almost on the exact opposite side of the field as the band, we could still hear every song played while at the same time still able to hear everything going on with the game. As you come through the gates at Bobby Dodd, the staff as well as the volunteer students make you feel right at home. You can feel the Georgia Tech comradery in the air. The food offered at Grant field was great too with a lot of variety including Sonny's, Chic-Fil-A, Papa John's, and many others. My only complaint is that the seating is so tight around the field level its almost impossible to get from your seat to the concessions...

Oh, if I had a daughter, sir, I'd dress her in White and Gold, And put her on the campus, to cheer the brave and bold. But if I had a son, sir, I'll tell you what he'd do. He would yell, "To Hell with Georgia," like his daddy used to do. Oh, I wish I had a barrel of rum and sugar three thousand pounds, A college bell to put it in and a clapper to stir it around. I'd drink to all good fellows who come from far and near. I'm a ramblin', gamblin', hell of...
