We had a good stay, and the staff is part of what makes the stay a positive experience. We did experience a few issues, but the staff always did a great job at getting them resolved. Ryan & Michael at the front desk were very helpful and the woman in the breakfast area was a delight. The gentleman who cooked our eggs to order did a great job as well.
Upon pulling into the street-level arrival area, you will need to go up the elevator to the second floor to access the check-in desk for the Element hotel. The first floor houses the check-in desk for the Marriott Courtyard only.
You will self-park your car in the garage (P3 and above) and bring the parking ticket down to the front desk on level 2 to then have a QR code texted to you to use when you exit & enter the garage during your stay. That system worked really well once we realized you had to give the system several seconds to recognize your vehicle.
Be informed about the exact address you enter into your gps. The address on the Marriott Bonvoy app says 640-2 Peachtree Street, so that’s what I entered into our GPS and it took us to a totally different area of downtown Atlanta, and not a very nice area at that. The email confirmations all show 640-2 Peachtree NE as the address and that is the correct address. Apparently, there is a HUGE difference in location when you drop the “NE” after the word Peachtree.
Enhanced Internet did not work for us, so we used the basic Internet, and that worked fine. The 800 sf larger Studio 2 queen corner room was super roomy with 2 tvs, a separate living room (with pull-out sofa) & bedroom (with 2 queen beds), a kitchen area with a good size fridge, stovetop, dishwasher, sink and 4 sets of glasses, coffee cups & dishes. The water pressure in the kitchen & in the shower were great, but the water pressure at the bathroom sink was awfully low.
The closet/armoire in the bedroom had interior lights that turned on when you opened the doors, which was nice. Our only complaint about that is that there wasn’t enough length in the hanging area for a dress. The top half of the armoire/closet is split into two shelves, which was great for storage. The bottom half of the armoire/closet is partially for hanging things (height for shirts or pants folded over a hanger only), a safe and 3 small drawers. We were in a handicap accessible room, so maybe that’s why the hanging area was so low & short.
There are a variety of lamps & overhead lights in the room. However, the only way we could have our night stand lights on was to have the bar/dinette light on simultaneously. As soon as we turned the bar/dinette light off, the night stand lights were no longer operable. Kind of strange & inconvenient.
That other lighting/electrical issue we had was with the light at the sink in the bathroom. It was inoperable during part of our stay. Fortunately, there is a light over the shower as well as a light over the toilet, but the vanity area was very dark and therefore I was not able to put my make up on in the bathroom those two mornings and my husband was not able to shave at the sink. An attempt was made to correct the problem, but it became inoperable again just a few hours after we returned to our room that evening and there was no one from Engineering available to fix it at that time of night. The next morning, a very nice gentleman from Engineering came & showed us where the circuit breaker box was (behind a piece of art on the wall), and him flipping the breaker worked, and we never had another issue after that. The gentleman from Engineering thought it might have happened from the use of a hair dryer but the only thing we ever plugged into that outlet in the bathroom was a night light.
The beds slept very comfortably and the AC/heat worked very well. One of our favorite things about this room was the large electric shades (both black-out and see-through). We would definitely...
Read more**I edited this review due to an incident that took place. WOW!!! I was very impressed with the level of professionalism, customer service, compassion and friendliness of the staff. Front desk Jercy and Starr were simply amazing! Breakfast Kyle this young man always had beautiful affirmations for you to read and srart off your day. He's simply amazing! Naomi (Chef) was thorough with cooking and had the best attitude with guests food requests. She's simply amazing! Security- Mr. Barry, always patrolling and making sure you're safe in all hotel perimeters. He was very helpful when my lights were on under my truck and he even offered service if my battery died. Overall, the hotel staff offers customer service and a professionalism that I have not experienced at any other hotel in Atlanta!! The hotel itself, the rooms were nice sized, clean and provided all needed for a long stay, from utensils to cookware to dishwasher liquid. I had a high floor room and a very nice view of the Midtown area and the infamous Fox Theater next door. Hotel is in walking distance to several restaurants, hospital, Publix grocery store. About a 20 minute walk to downtown Atlanta or you can use rideshare. Parking at the hotel is $40+/day with in and out privileges. Be careful driving on the ramp to the parking decks. It's tight and to get to parking is circles to get to it.
** Now to the incident that took place. I left mid morning to mind my business and take my personal linens to a laundromat since there was a homeless lady always in the laundry room at the hotel as well as thugs hanging around the parking garage ramp smoking weed and the overnight security does nothing. Anyway... To my surprise, I returned to not having a room!!!! I used my room card a few times and it would not work. I went to the front desk to learn that I had been checked out!! Starr had checked my reservation (which was to last until 10/13/25) and said that Jercy checked me out and the room was occupied!! Starr called the room and a male answered. I cant remember his name. Mind you, I still had the room cards AND my personal belongings were left in the room!!!! It took 3 1/2 hours to get me into another room. I was livid!!! I asked for the manager and she- Jazzy Biddings came later. She promised all of these points and reimbursements (which I have written proof from her) for this incident and of course, she did NOT do any of the things promised. Incident was reported to the General Manager Jason Caughron and he made promises as well and to investigate. BOTH gave me their direct contact numbers and emails. I said I would file a police report but was asked to give them a chance to investigate. Foolish of me to believe them. My biggest regret of trusting them! I desperately tried to reach both Jason and Jazzy, only to be purposely ignored of my calls and emails!! I was shocked, being they acted so concerned and all.
I went above them just to learn that the hotel knew about it, but they NEVER reported this incident! At this point, the staff at the Element Midtown Atlanta hotel is sheisty, sneaky, untrustworthy, liars and manipulative! I trusted them to handle this incident amd they blatantly disregarded me, my losses and all! Oh, I was told by some staff including the GM, that this isn't the first incident in the past few weeks!! AND the hotel doesn't have cameras in the halls. That was shocking! I won't be returning to these thieves and liars....
Read moreThis review is based on my five nights stay at this hotel with family including kids. This hotel is right next to courtyard. The hotel is new , fresh feel to it. Everything seems new , carpets are clean. Very sleek look.
Check-in : The check-in experience was amazing. Chelsea greeted us with a big wide smile , her energy was great and was much needed after our road trip. Element check-in is on 2nd floor. 1st floor check-in is for courtyard.
Rooms : We booked a two queen Studio. Since it is a new hotel , opened in March , the rooms were super clean. We had a great view from 11th floor. Bathrooms were big and clean. There was refrigerator , Microwave and dishwasher in the room. Dishes , spoons and utensils were also provided. We found the rooms spacious. The room temperature could be controlled and were great. The sleep quality was great , its not noisy at all !
Room Service : There is no room service unless requested. I requested trash removal on three occasions but after about 3 days was advised to keep the trash outside for pickup. Along with trash removal , i also requested new towels which were provided each time but trash was not removed. They will not make your beds due to Covid but if you tip the maintenance staff , they will do it for you.
Breakfast : The chefs and service at breakfast was great. We requested warm milk on our first day and it was provided the next day without being asked for. There is usually one hot item which chef would make for you , we got eggs with veggies and french toast on other days. Apart from that its grab and go. The overall area is nice with a balcony as well where you can enjoy fresh air. We enjoyed eating in that area with kids.
Staff : Apart from check-in , my interactions with front desk staff were very poor. On one night , the front desk staff was hanging out with a couple of friends at the counter and allowing them snacks while they smelled like weed. On two occasions , i worked with Evelyn for trash removal & while checking out. On both occasions her behavior was condescending and disrespectful. Almost discriminatory if you will. The workforce is not diverse. After checking out , i was not allowed to use my access card to fetch luggage from my floor and had my wife had to bring it down along with two kids. The staff seems to have been picked from Courtyard hence the service remains poor.
Parking : If you are checking in , i would recommend parking in the garage and then taking the parking ticket with you so it can be linked to the room. From the parking floors , elevator has to be taken to either the 1st or 2nd floor. Then a separate elevator has to be taken to the room floors. Scan the room key and then press the room number to get to your floor. Apparently , the keys are floor specific.
Surroundings : The hotel is right across from the Fox Theatre who also share the parking lot. We would find everything on walking distance such as Walgreens , Publix etc. Restaurants and coffee shops are not too far either. I would not recommend walking at night since there are a lot of homeless people around.
Covid Precautions : Masks are not mandatory for guests in the hotel. I saw the staff wearing masks. There are not enough Sanitizing stations in the lobby or...
