Casa Taco is most definitely mediocre. I was surprised at the lack of al pastor style tacos on the menu. We ordered chorizo tacos instead, which were good. My boyfriend & I shared a total of 4 dishes: the aforementioned tacos, chicken enchiladas with mole, jalapeno poppers, and queso fundido. The queso fundido was strangely sweet but good. The sides and chicken ropa inside the enchiladas were also good, but I learned the hard way that I dislike mole. The jalapeno poppers were good. Chips were good. Overall, the food was just "good," which is a little disappointing given that there's a lot of GREAT food inside the Tropicana. There was a huge selection of tequila and many fun looking cocktails, though we didn't try any. Service was friendly & prompt. It was the best part of the evening. One of the servers gave us a hard time about changing tables; we enjoy sitting side-by-side. The new server in the section we moved to was a great sport about it. We were seated in a backroom & the atmosphere was terrible there. I enjoyed the table settings but the tables were awkwardly arranged and the little back room felt ... off. The front dining area is very nice with good ambient lighting and decor, but the back was too brightly lit, cramped, and cheap feeling. Overall I don't regret trying Casa Taco but it's not worth returning to given the plethora of fantastic Mexican restaurants in the area.

This place is just another tourist destination that hired Latino workers to give a more authentic presentation, but the food is definitely not. Prices are 2x higher than they should be, they legit try charging $20 for chicken nachos....for real... Mexican food is one of the cheapest cultural foods you can cook and they somehow find a way to charge astronomical prices for under flavored, small portions. My margarita (classic) was $13 and served in a tiny glass, it was yummy, but that was about all this place had going for it. My husband's basic b**** beer was $5 :P. It was the final straw (we're locals) to say we're never returning to the Tropicana, you do NOT get what you pay for...all these casinos are trying to do is earn back their money lost to gamblers. Please avoid these tourist traps that aren't worth your taste buds or money - help out the struggling independent businesses around the casinos, there are numerous great ones within the city, they just have to be discovered :) .

05/18/16 I was on a little getaway for a few days and decided to stay at the Tropicana for the first time!! We've always visited for just for the restaurants!! So we came across this Mexican spot and it was a little before 5pm so they offered happy hour, the waitress/supervised/manager ? Offered that we can sit at the bar or at the table. At first we stated we'll sit at a table because we thought the bar didn't have a section for the wheelchair. When we got to the table I realized that the wheelchair section was in fact empty so I said let's head to the bar which was 5steps away. As soon as we got to the bar the bartender did not greet us , he gave me a blank look and said "You can go back to the table, where the waitress will take your order" he said it in the most stern, nasty tone. I then told him that we're okay with staying at the bar, then he proceeds to say " Well you shouldn't be sitting here because people is going to be coming back in fourth and you're going to be in the way" again with a nasty tone. I told him that the section we were at was to sit a wheelchair, and that I was not going to be "in the way" he then said well I don't think this section is for wheelchairs. Basically I told him that he is wrong and we left because he was so rude and arrogant towards us!! We went to speak to the w oman that greeted us and we explained to her what went down and she said "oh yeah that's how his attitude is" I was so shocked for her to say that and think that it was okay to speak and to treat a potential customer in that manner!!! They lost out big because I love margaritas and I am a great tipper for great service!! I wish I can give Zero stars!! For...

It's unfortunate that i have to give this place such a low score and bad review because i love everything about Tropicana resort, Especially their restaurants but it saddens me to say i took a visit with my lady over the weekend and experience food poisoning from here. Worse feeling ever! I order the easiest dish on the menu which was a Picadillo (Ground beef and Lettuces only). Firstly, The ground beef came back overly oily to the point the tortillas was falling apart while trying to handle it to eat it. Secondly, the meat was founded in varies of sizing, some in chunk or shredded and in other grained sizes. After eating a Taco and a half. I instantly told my lady i don't feel right she demanded me to stop eating and I complied. we paided and left. 30 minutes after we left. we tried to finish exploring the boardwalk but couldn't because I started to experience feeling of heaviness on the body and than a sudden bad headache abrupt to the point i just had to lay on the floor trying to relive such symptoms. Laying down made it worse once we made it to our next location we had to go home because i started to feel nauseous and the urgency of using the bathroom at the same time. All this in such a short time frame of eating one and a half taco (sigh) Overall the atmosphere was beautiful but will not be eating here anymore...
