We enjoyed the atmosphere and the selection. This place was well put together. I didn't realize when we entered that it is a sister store to the one in Edgefield. Glad to see business is good enough for the expansion.
The parking could use an upgrade as there were tons of potholes and rough on a car. However, that is on the city and not them.
My wife did a Whiskey/Bourbon sampler which was good. However, I ordered a drink and the bartender wasn't paying attention as she made my drink (A bourbon honey drink). Anyway, while making my cocktail she poured Bourbon all over her hand as her jigger overflowed and then it filtered down to my drink. She then, most likely w/o thinking, shook off her hand and what remained went into my drink as well. I admit that I am particular but it rather grossed me out. It had been a odd day and didn't even feel like asking for another one to be made. I kind of feel that I shouldn't have to ask as it was akin to having her put her hand in my drink. If I had done that to someones drink I would have washed my hands and then the made a new one without a second thought. I didn't drink my drink. We enjoyed my wifes sampler then we paid...
Read moreI’m honestly upset & disappointed with this place. I met them @ the Art in heart festival downtown Augusta and we spoke there about me having a birthday dinner there in which they said was great one of them just had one of them just had one there a week ago. Few days passed, I went to check it out and they gave me tour, showed the spirits that they were offering they gave me the information and promised me the owner would contact me along with his. He never called and I called him numerous of times, I don’t want to bring race into It but the place was predominantly white & they were treating them with great customer service. On the other hand there’s me they made a promise that they couldn’t keep in which ruined my birthday. I wouldn’t recommend for a large party maybe just to grab a...
Read moreJay and I had the privilege of taking a tour this past Saturday of 2nd City's distillery hosted by founder, David Long. David is as down to earth as they come, and I applaud him on the way he's grown his business. If you take the tour, I hope you get David as your guide, as he is quite entertaining as explains the distilling process and even how some of the equipment ended up in the building. The atmosphere of the tasting room is very comfortable, yet classy. I highly recommend 2nd City for anyone looking for something unique to do in Augusta. Special thanks goes out to Commissioner Sean Frantom for helping David make 2nd City at reality. Jay and I...
