I meant to write this a while back but just now getting to it. We met up with some friends for dinner one night none of us had ever been here before. We decided on it since its one of the only places downtown with ample outdoor seating and my BF wanted to have a cigar and whiskey outside while we waited for our food. The inside is pretty large with lots of seating as well. The waitress was friendly and though not completely familiar with their alcohol selection was not at all put out to go and investigate our many questions and requests kudos to her we ordered several sushi rolls and fish tacos and burgers and my BF had a salmon dish. The food is pretty damn good, sure there are better sushi joints in town but for the price and atmosphere you really can't beat it. What impressed us most about our experience though was by far the customer service. When our food arrived at the table my boyfriend saw his salmon dish and I could see his disappointment looking at the really small piece of salmon on the plate but he said nothing and just dug in like the rest of us. I asked him if he wanted to say something about it and he said "no" but as if they could read minds a waitress came around the corner with a new huge piece of grilled salmon and veggies explaining how one of the chefs noticed how small that plate looked when it went out and quickly grilled up another piece free of charge to make up for it and apologized. We were blown away. We hadn't said a thing to anyone about it. Afterwards the manager came by to make sure we were happy and to apologize for the disappointing plate again and not only was our waitress on point but the manager came by annnd even the hostess walked around to make sure people were happy their downtown sushi rival Soy Noodle House should take a page from Sole's book on customer service. That is why we will be return customers. My only small suggestion is they really need to invest in sound dampers for the ceilings and walls it gets very loud if its busy. Though that's nothing to stop you from...
Read moreLove Solé! The atmosphere, the clientele and a couple of the workers I met were professional and treated me when I visited by myself and I went back with a friend and we had the same good service. I hope to visit more in the future. I liked the age group and how it was easy to socialize with people at the bar location. Price of food and drinks were reasonable and on point for the type of restaurant Solé is. Solé is all about your experience and delivering great customer service. I love the diversity of patrons that visit.
The reason I couldn't give them 5 Stars is because our appetizer came out luke warm as well as our entree's. I will say that it was due to how busy the restaurant was. Because of how busy it was it took a while before we could tell them our problem. Once we reported the issue They were apologetic and put a new order. Again because of how busy the restaurant was busy it took a while to get our food. Unfortunately the second batch that we received the appetizer and entrees were luke warm. Once Again! We were both very hungry that we went ahead and ate the luke warm appetizers. My friend ate his entree however I like my food hot so I just brought mine home and ate it the next day for lunch!
My suggestion is gage the times you should go and maybe sit at a table and not the bar like we did.
Still overall I recommend you visit the restaurant!...
Read moreWhenever I come into town from ATL I visit Solé for some jalapeño grit fritters. Imagine the emotional damage I just took as I’m sitting at the bar and am slammed with the news that they took them off of the menu two weeks ago. I know they’re probably a b** and a half to prep but y’all know they sell well. If I hadn’t been sitting and was just placing a to-go order, I’d have left upon hearing this. And according to one of the bartenders, they had an entire table up and leave when they were hit with this disappointing news. This emotional blow feels equivalent to how I imagine I would feel if a restaurant owner personally shot one of my dear friends. All in all, this place used to be great. Now it’s just… good… ish. Won’t be coming back unless my friend, the jalapeño grit fritters, is revived 😔
Edit to reply to the lovely Rachel:
I appreciate the suggestion, my love, but I am so sorry to inform you that recommending the mashed potato egg rolls is exactly what your bartender offered I try instead. Now, I don’t think I have to tell you this, because we both know: compared to the community-beloved jalapeño grit fritters, those mashed potato egg rolls are a slap in the face 🤧 Really lackluster, I’m afraid.
I will be holding down the tummy fort against Solé until I can enjoy them grit fritters once again (or until somebody anonymously e-mails the restaurant’s...
