I am writing to express my deep disappointment with the experience my wife and I had during our recent stay at Woolley’s Classic Suites Denver Colorado from July 10, 2024, to July 11, 2024. As a frequent traveler who usually stays at five-star hotels, I chose this establishment due to its proximity to the airport and the excellent reviews on Google. Unfortunately, our experience was far from satisfactory.
Understanding that our flight would arrive around midnight, I called the hotel a day in advance to inform the staff of our late arrival. We were particularly drawn to the hotel because of the complimentary shuttle service. Upon landing in Denver and collecting our luggage, I contacted the hotel to confirm the shuttle's location. A female employee informed me that a shuttle was waiting at gate 515 aisle 3 and would leave in three minutes.
We arrived at the designated location within two minutes. I asked my wife to wait with our bags while I approached the shuttle. When I requested the driver to open the door, he ignored me. After calling out to him again and being ignored, the shuttle began to move. I managed to catch up with the shuttle due to traffic and knocked on the passenger side window. The driver, after some hesitation, rolled down the window only to falsely claim that it was not the shuttle for Woolley’s Classic Suites, despite the clear logo on the side of the vehicle. Feeling humiliated and discriminated against, I immediately called the hotel to report the incident.
Unwilling to risk another negative encounter with the shuttle, I spent $50 on an Uber to reach the hotel. Upon arrival, I spoke to the front desk attendant about our experience. To my dismay, he responded by stating that the driver had accused us of endangering other passengers, which was entirely false and deeply offensive. Despite this, I remained calm and expressed our concerns.
The attendant then informed us of an upgrade to compensate for our inconvenience, which we appreciated. However, upon reaching our room, we discovered it was actually a downgrade. We returned to the front desk, requesting the room we initially paid for, only to be told it was no longer available. Exhausted and frustrated, we reluctantly accepted the downgraded room.
To add to our distress, we found red stains on the bed and coffee machine area. It took multiple calls and visits from the front desk attendant, bringing the wrong size sheets, before we finally managed to settle in around 3:30 am.
Due to this series of unfortunate events, we felt unsafe leaving our bags with the hotel and changed our return flight to the earliest available option, leaving for the airport at 11 am. We had plans to visit meow wolf and get lunch and had to cancel them due to this unfortunate experience.
I must commend that the morning front desk employee (who was different person) was very empathetic and apologetic, providing us with the manager’s contact information to share our experience.
Given the discriminatory behavior of the shuttle driver and the dismissive attitude of the night front desk attendant, I cannot, in good conscience, recommend this hotel to other people of color. We felt unwelcome and discriminated against throughout our stay, a stark contrast to our expectations based on the hotel's reputation.
I urge the hotel manager to address these serious issues promptly to prevent future guests from experiencing...
Read moreWolleys Hotel really was very disappointing. I stayed from 9/4-9/8. We stayed in their VIP Suite that cost us over $800. The customer service was great, thanks to Minnie, Cora, the staff at the bar, housekeeping, staff at the buffet for breakfast & the ladies who stood and welcomed us to the restaurant for morning breakfast. As for Tiffini & Haitham Salah, poor management and supervisor skills. The first night there we didn't have nothing but have a 1/2 roll of tissue. There was no extra. I had to go the front desk to get to 2 rolls. Refrigerator did not work, that was replaced. My husband and I order pizza that cost $60 for us and another couple (4 of us), now the microwave doesn't work. Mantiance comes in to fix it and doesn't fix it (If you know what I mean). They told us they don't have another microwave to give us. So the hotel offered us food from the restaurant on the hotel expense. My husband hamburger was raw, and I ask for Flatbread pizza with sausage, pepperoni, and beef. It only had cheese and pepperoni. My husband couldn't eat his hamburger and we had to spilt a Flatbread pizza between 3 people. Not only did my husband not eat and microwave not working, $60 was wasted. On Saturday maintenance comes to fix microwave, still couldn't fix it, so they replaced it. He said it worked now. On Sunday, my husband and I ordered Outback, that was $93. By the time door dash came with it, it was cold, needed to be heated, microwave doesn't work. I'm heated. Called front desk, nothing they can do about it. They said they would make a note and I can speak to Tiffini on Monday. There goes $93. Keep in mind the hotel room was very nice, but the furniture needs to be shampooed in the living room, because smell like moth balls, just an old smell. When I checked out the hotel with all my complaints no one could help me. They said I would have to talk to Tiffini, but she not coming until Tuesday, because she is sick today. I said ok, I will call on Tuesday. I called Tuesday and talked to both Tiffini and Haitham and they both was no help. After having my 10year Anniversary be somewhat a flopped hotel, all they could offer me was 10,000 Marriott points. What the hell. I loss $60, one day, $93 another day and u gonna give me some damn points. That's wasn't enough for me. I wanted one night taken off my bill or a free night somewhere else. Their way of saying sorry was with some points. I've stayed at plenty of hotels in my lifetime and had some problems, but not like this. I'm not satisfied with no points. I wasted money on food and on this room that some things wasn't working. All I stay at is Hilton & Marriott hotels. I've never had a problem with Hilton Hotels. I'm very unhappy & sad that my 10 year Anniversary was a slum at Wolleys Hotel. Has for Haitham, the manager, you need better management & customer service skills. You may need training on management again, because there is no reason why I should be leaving a long message like this. You last told me (Haitham) do what I need to do. And I am. I will be calling corporate next. So, if u stay there make sure u have plenty of toliet paper, working refrigerator & microwave, and the furniture is not smelly. Read moreSo... this is the first time I booked a place almost based solely on reviews on yelp and elsewhere. I did NOT regret it! I paid a total of 136$ after taxes and fees on Expedia. The reason I wouldn't normally pick this hotel is silly but first, the actual style of the rooms ... it's just not my thing. Also, there is no jacuzzi.... and it's about the same rate as hotels in the direct area.. some less, some more..
When you first walk in you hear water and see greenery and just feel relaxed... beautiful lobby.. I have seen embassy suites set up the same and have always loved the openness.. water with fruit as you walk in, such a lovely touch. Check-in was friendly and easy and when I requested a room location it was just given. Nothing better then when a hotel goes the extra step to just make things easy. Thank you!
Evening reception was simple and nice. I don't drink but if I did the bargain here is unbelievable! One low level wine glass costs about 6$ at a restaurant.. and was complimentary here... just a pretty place to socialize (with free booze... plus tip)... snacks were basic... chips and salsa, a party pub mix, fresh popcorn..
By bargain, I mean.....factor in the 20-30$ of alcohol an individual or couple could drink and then the breakfast was amazing!! Like a 20-25$ buffet (what I've seen in other restaurants)... take that off the 136$ price of the room and what a bargain... even if just one person in room. I do not like buffets generally but WOW! the fruit looked and was fresh and good, an omelet station where I requested two eggs instead of the standard three as I get sick of tossing stuff and they happily obliged (please tip.. awesome service). Oh and I forgot the fresh baked goods.. yum!
The room was beautiful, comfortable and inviting. The sliding door opened a slight bit if you wanted fresh air, the alarm clock and lamps had plugs including USB.. love that! Everything about the room made sense and the overstuffed chairs and table were beautiful! One of my favorite hotels has the same set up as this hotel and the bathroom.. a huge, oversized tub (they include a small bit of bath salts) and oversized shower.... just wonderful! In truth I didn't have time to take a bath but I appreciate the extra touches like the salts. The next time my husband and I are flying through Denver we WILL be staying here and the bath will be used.
Service was friendly, yet not intrusive... just perfect... also... LOVE that their check out is at noon.
They also have a shuttle to the airport.. I didn't get a chance to use as I rented a car and was not charged a parking fee.
Gym is good...
I couldn't figure out the microwave and was too tired to request help but I know it would have been corrected.(locked with an error light) and fridge was great.. can't go anywhere without Diet Coke :)
Can't wait to return and...
