We absolutely loved this hotel. Parker was above and beyond. We got off our very early boat and walked over to the hotel at 7:30 am with the hopes to just drop off our luggage while we cruised around the island until check in. Parker immediately told us if we gave him five minutes, he could have a room ready. I couldn't believe it! He also offered us the continental breakfast while we waited! They had coffee, tea and fresh lemon cucumber in the lobby 24/7. We had a room on the third floor. The room is cozy and perfect. Robes are hanging with a sign that say we can contact the front desk if we'd like to take them home, chocolates are on the bed, wine is offered in the room, complimentary water bottles are already in the fridge, we get the movie channels, and every amenity you could think of is in the bathroom. On the third floor there is an outdoor deck with tons of seating options and a gorgeous view of the water. We spent a lot of time lounging out there. You are also able to take a tray with your breakfast out to this area. We felt so spoiled. The location is up a small hill, so you could either request a taxi or get your steps in. It is a great location to the main streets. On our last day, we checked out right at 11. Parker offered to hang on to all of our luggage. He also offered us to take hotel beach towels so we didn't have to travel with dirty ones. AND he offered to put ice in our cooler we had brought with us to prepare for the hot day. We plan to make all of our future bookings at the Aurora. Thank you for the incredible hospitality and the perfect stay...

We arrived at the hotel and weren’t allowed to stay with our 2 well trained and Certified Service Dogs. On the sport, we were told we had to find another hotel. Ramiro Torres, who is the manager stated that he did not believe they were service dogs and didn’t want to look at our dog IDs or paper work verifying their validity. Katia, a receptionist at the hotel had called us a day before our stay in order to verify we were staying at the hotel and she was aware that we were staying with our service dogs and had asked me to bring my Certificates and all Proper Documents.

What Ramiro Torres did was COMPLETE DISCRIMINATION AGAINST PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES. We will be filing a Police Report and taking the appropriate Legal Actions needed to resolve this matter and make sure it never happens to anyone at this establishment again. When I asked Ramiro Torres if I could speak to the owner in order to resolve the issue, he told me that the owners were not on site, he wouldn’t give me their information and I shouldn’t contact them at all.

Without any other option, we had to scramble and loom all over Catalina Island for a last minute hotel, which we did.

If you have service animals or really care about people with Disabilities, please don’t stay or give your business to Aurora Hotel. What they have done is COMPLETELY UNACCEPTABLE and a COMPLETE VIOLATION of the “American with...

This was my second time visiting Catalina Island. The first time was a cruise day trip, and this time my husband and I came for a two-night getaway. After researching several hotels, we chose Aurora Hotel because of the great reviews and recently renovated rooms. It’s about a 12-minute walk from the ferry—just a slight uphill at the end, so if you have heavy luggage, expect a few pauses.

Check-in was quick and friendly. The room was on the second floor (no elevator, but only two floors total). It’s on the smaller side but had everything we needed: a microwave, coffee maker, fridge, two complimentary bottles of water, and even two candies on the bed! The room was super clean with a fresh scent, and there were plenty of towels, robes, and thoughtful amenities like shower gel, body lotion, cotton balls, and ear cleaners.

We didn’t use the A/C—just opened the windows. You will hear some golf carts and neighbors, so if you’re a light sleeper, bring earplugs or use the A/C instead.

The rooftop lounge was one of my favorite parts. It’s open from 8am to 10pm, and I actually took a relaxing nap there in the sunshine. They also offer a continental breakfast; we grabbed yogurt and coffee and headed to a local restaurant for a full meal.

Overall, we had a great stay and I would definitely recommend Aurora Hotel for a clean, comfortable, and peaceful Catalina...

The hotel is fairly small old building tucked among residential buildings, with a walking distance about eleven minutes away from the boat station. Staff are wonderful and super friendly, the gentleman who assisted me with check in was a very friendly professional and kindly helped me with carrying my luggage to the third floor. When I entered the room, I was surprised by how small it was but it had absolutely everything you need it from microwave, fridge, vanity, coffee maker to all the necessities like Q-tips, shower caps and more. I have posted everything in the photos. I had paid the extra fee to get an ocean view room, and oh my, the view did not disappoint me. It is magnificent and mesmerizing. The AC was already running when I entered my room, so the room was nice and cool. There is no closet cabinet but has small space to hang your stuff and deep drawers to put your clothes. Breakfast is included, and everything was to my liking. They let you to make a plate and take it to your room which was very nice. Next to my room was the rooftop which I spent the most of the late evenings hanging out in there and enjoying the view with the deers wondering around the neighborhood. All in all, I truly enjoyed my stay and most likely i will book this hotel again when I return.
