The manager/owner saw my review, and we spoke about an hour before we checked out, and again when I called about an item left behind. I left a pillow behind that was clearly not one of their’s based on appearances alone (black and white vs the gold and pink in their decor), they could not find it. They did find it later on (my husband wasn’t checking his emails, but based on the comments back from management, I’m not sure the pillow would be return in condition left -I will update when I do get it .. hoping revenge was not taken bc my baby loves to lay on this pillow with me COST NOT JUSTIFIED Unfortunate - really has gone down (All about service) attention to detail lost And lack of care and corners cut (cheap) Please understand the the setting and room are still beautiful, but what am I paying for ($375+ a night) if the service was far short from it hefty price tag. 10 years ago and even 3 years ago, it was so much better Left something out of my original post- Remember those plastic key cards you have that open your room? If you lose one, they charge you $50 1) No one answers the door upon arrival - seriously?? The doors are locked so you can’t even check-in- 2) NO TOWELS AT ALL in the room 3) bathrobes replaced with thin, itchy and cheap waffle-textured robes 4)Dirty room (rose petals left behind from cleaning another party’s romance package) 5) THE AIR CONDITIONER in the declaration suite doesn’t work in the bedroom (they added a WINDOW A/C (Super loud) unit that my husband called an upgraded motel. The unit was so loud, we tried to avoid using it, but the room hit 78 and we gave up 6) LUKEWARM COFFEE provided to room (I asked for almond milk and he asked for half& half, they only brought almond 2 days in a row. 7) Day 2- we left out our coffee mugs from the previous day, the next day when coffee was delivered, they never brought us a new set (you had to pick up the cups to even bring us the new coffee- what mugs would we have now to drink from??) They brought us new mugs, but one was used/still dirty see photo 8) the cutlery in the room on top of the fridge was dirty 9)TV NOT WORKING in the sitting room (constantly on standby) - side note* TVs need major upgrade 10) CORN SYRUP-based packet pancake syrup instead of MAPLE SYRUP?!?! It cannot be that expensive to provide a little bit of maple syrup 11) provided breakfast, the Omelette’s egg tasted like it was a pre-made egg patty. The second day omelette was too fried … 12) noise. The location is in the city, you’ll never be able to fully block sound, but perhaps having a taller wall by the courtyard or even having a wall instead of just metal bars would really help with the sound 13) “fresh baked cookies” by the coffee station?? they were “fresh” for 3 days 14) forgot the cobwebs .. yeah, they are there and weren’t cleaned out To the long story- We came for our 10-year anniversary that just perfectly coincided with my husband’s end to his military 14 month deployment .. and this trip made us so, so sad We could have chosen anywhere to go, but for nostalgic reasons, we opted for here…. Regretting it now and it may not be our milestone anniversary trips anymore Like I mentioned, there are things to love, and if you’ve never experienced this location when the service matched the price, you would understand Just .. so disappointed

My wife and I stayed in the equestrian room for 2 nights. 9-19/9-21. We had never stayed at a bed and breakfast before now and WOW we were not disappointed. We checked in 1 hour early not expecting our room to be ready. Not only was it ready but the gentleman that checked us in walked us to our room. He told us that waters and sodas in the fridge were included along with the popcorn in the microwave. He showed us the breakfast menu and told us to make sure we had it out on the door before 2300. We absolutely loved the breakfast choices from omelets, burritos, eggs, bacon, fruit, pancakes, juices and so much more which was also included. Every room they have is different so make sure to check the website to get the one you like. The room decor was amazing which is why we chose to stay here and the bathroom was spectacular. It was very large with a large walk in shower and big jet tub and the shampoo, conditioner and body wash was included. The staff that we encountered were very friendly and accommodating. My wife and I travel very often and this place has us hooked on B&Bs as we so enjoyed our stay here. We read the bad reviews before we booked this and all I can say is obviously those bad reviewers don’t understand that this is an old building in an urban area so of course there isn’t parking and of course you are going to hear vehicles and noises outside. Also some reviews said bad area but we didnt think that at all. We walked from the light rail stop at the convention center to the B&B and also walked to little Italy and had zero problems and never felt uncomfortable and we walked one night as well. Trust all of the great reviews of this place as we did. We definitely recommend staying here. You will not regret it.

My husband booked a room here as a gift for me with the main focus being the awesome tubs. Upon arrival we received a complimentary upgrade to the Independence suite for our romantic getaway weekend. This bed and breakfast in the city is a beautiful hidden gem. I loved the history behind the Inn and all of the themed rooms. The decor and art were on point. The beds are comfortable and pillows are like clouds. The tub in this suite is easily big enough for two people and the jets make it even more relaxing. The breakfast in house is well executed, delicious, and filling. We had no desire to go elsewhere for breakfast. The location of the Inn makes finding lunch and dinner food options easy. During warmer months I could see being able to walk to most places I'd like to visit, but since it was frigid we drove to most places. This was made better by the fact that the Inn has it's own small parking lot and we didn't have to worry about parking when we got back. We did walk to Little Italy for dinner one evening, and even in the cold it was a mostly enjoyable stroll. We are definitely going to be repeat visitors to this boutique bed and breakfast!

COST NOT JUSTIFIED Unfortunate - really has gone down (All about service) attention to detail lost And lack of care and corners cut (cheap)

Please understand the the setting and room are still beautiful, but what am I paying for ($375+ a night) if the service was far short from it hefty price tag. 10 years ago and even 3 years ago, it was so much better

Left something out of my original post- Remember those plastic key cards you have that open your room? If you lose one, they charge you $50

  1. No one answers the door upon arrival - seriously?? The doors are locked so you can’t even check-in-

  2. NO TOWELS AT ALL in the room

  3. bathrobes replaced with thin, itchy and cheap waffle-textured robes

4)Dirty room (rose petals left behind from cleaning another party’s romance package)

Wow what a great facility, staff, and wedding on June 4th! When we checked in to the Carrollton Inn on June 2 Devin greeted us, checked us in and even assisted us with all the items we brought with us for the wedding. And prior to our arrival Stasia was on top of all our reservations and quickly made changes we had and was so easy to work with which we greatly appreciated. The rooms were all ready for us as we arrived and they were all lovely. Sadly I don’t have all the names of the Staff but there was not one person we came in contact with who wasn’t friendly and hospitable to us and all our guests.

The coffee service and breakfast were set and ready to go each day and we especially enjoyed the Buffet breakfasts. Of course the cookies in the evening were such a great way to top off the night. What’s not to love about a soft chocolate chip cookie? 😊

On the big day, the weather was great with a slight breeze in the courtyard, but such a lovely setting. It was all on time, the DJ handled the music without a glitch, and the set up was perfect. Then we moved to the next courtyard for the cocktail hour with delicious appetizers, friendly staff, and continued great weather.

Then without hesitation the staff so seamlessly moved us all from the courtyard to the 4th floor ballroom for a wonderful dinner, festivities, and dancing.

I realize this is their job but they do their job very well and in many cases above and beyond. We would all highly recommend having a wedding or event at the 1840’s Plaza as they won’t disappoint.

I also know our Wedding Planner, Maya Mahoney from Honey & Lavender, helped with vendor selections but worked so well with Stasia at 1840’s Plaza using many of the vendors they frequently use.

It was our daughter’s big day and it couldn’t have been more perfect. Thank you to all who made it so very successful! 😊
