Poyoteca Peruvian Chicken — Restaurant in Baltimore

I haven't had Poyoteca in YEARS and boy, was I missing it! I loved going to their old location (aka Chicken Rico), and it was super good then, still super good now! Their sides are delicious, but the roast chicken is spiced to PERFECTION! It's a great option for the price point. They give you a LOT of food.

We tried the half chicken, house salad, mac and cheese, corn salsa, pasta salad, fried rice, and plantains. The fried rice is my absolute favorite, but everything else was also very fresh! I will say that it leans a little salty for my preference, but I always share so it's not a huge issue.

If I had tried this location first, I would have never known that this chain was capable of turning out excellent food or good service if I hadn't eaten at the Rockville location first. Kind of crazy to think that they are supposed to be the same restaurant. String beans were mushy & salty- supposed to be Peruvian NOT southern style food. Spicy sauce was not spicy, chicken and black beans had no taste. Just gross.

If you order ahead and walk in to pick up your food, prepare to be that customer who just stands there looking like you don't know what you walked inside for. They keep the call ahead orders behind the counter so I had to stop an employee that walked by me and ask if she can give me my food. WHAT DID THEY THINK I WAS STANDING THERE FOR? My health???

I came here for the first time and was excited to try Peruvian food. After reviewing the order from the Google map, I placed a pick up order for A veggie salad and two kids tacos. Once I arrived to pick up the food, I noticed the price was normally high so I inquired about the two kids tacos. I was told the tacos were removed from the menu and had to pay full prove for them. I refused to do that and they called the manager.

The manage stepped in an told me that their menu is on their website and Google review doesn't apply to them. After going back and forth, and accepting my order over the phone, he decided to change my order and not honoring the original tacos.
