I was introduced to Topcoat by a friend. I visited for the first time in November 2020. The picture with my light blue/green nails are from that visit. I returned again for my birthday in December and again in January 2021. I’ve been telling all my friends and family in the area to go to Topcoat! I’m obsessed!

COVID-19: Like many others, I was fearful of getting my usual pampering services due to COVID-19. I was so impressed with the precautions they had such as the plexi-glass separation windows, temperature check and hand sanitizer upon arrival, 6 feet social distancing between all stations, consistent cleaning between customers, an overall decreased building capacity, and even alcohol prep pads to wipe your phone and credit card when you leave 😍.

SERVICE: ✨ And don’t get me started about the decor and ambiance! chef’s kiss Absolute comfort and luxury. I feel like I’m in a spa in a 5 star hotel. They always take their time to truly pamper you. I’ve never received a pedicure like the one I had at Topcoat. They did it all! Massage, scrub, oil, lotion, etc. 🧖🏾‍♀️. The biggest thing I noticed was that I never felt rushed. I was treated with patience and like royalty, not like a number.

STAFF: I’ve had great conversations with Helen and Amy about K-Dramas 😂! The whole team is a vibe 😍. I’m excited to get to know the rest of the staff. They’ve made a loyal customer out of me. Thank you!

PARKING: Right when you get off I-83, Topcoat is less than 5 minutes away. I usually do street parking but that can easily cost an extra $7-10 depending on how long you stay. However, I highly recommend parking in the Harbor Park Garage. Topcoat will validate your parking! $5 for 3 hours which is plenty of time to get a mani+pedi.

MY NAILS: Lately, I’ve been obsessed with my natural nails with a gel nail polish. In the picture with the nude color, I cut down all my nails for the New Year to prepare for new growth (for my nails and my overall life 🌱)! Once it gets warmer, I’m excited to get back into my crazy colors and designs!

TL;DR - GO...

gave me nail fungus!!!! I hate giving bad reviews, but business has to do better and people must be warned.

So atmosphere is nice, the people are pleasant to speak with, but the service is overpriced. They also don't start right on time. My first visit was not that great, but I let it go because its a vegan shop which align with my views and life style.

My recent visit in 11/2023 was the worst ever. They changed the time which I accepted, but the worst part is that the first time in my life that I decided to start frequenting a salon, they gave me toe nail fungus(3rd visit). Within two days after the pedicure(regular), I had so much pain I didn't know what was going on, was confused about the pain, and clear pus, I hadn't felt any pain during the procedure. Thought maybe the nail was growing the wrong direction. I finally took the nail polish off end of week(5days) and my nail was brown. I thought maybe they cut to deep and the cuticle bled into the nail, I tried cleaning it, but then had to just go to the doctors to get treatment.

I believe they rushed because a worker called out and they did not clean the tools they used on my feet.

The salon I went to in another state open a new packet of instruments in front of me that were autoclaved. I thought all salons did this even when not in my view (obviously I was naively wrong)

So I will not be returning to topcoat nail, I will be looking for another salon, learning how to do my own nails, or going back to my home state to get my nails done.

Toe nail fungus is to much of an inconvenience to give them another try. So I'm officially done. I tried, it did not work out.

(Also multiple toe nails were affected) did an excellent job, but they did not open up at the time advertised on their website or front door, so I had to wait 30min till the worker showed up. They then told me the opening time changes based on scheduled appt, but never offered a discount for their late arrival and never telling me this...

Let me start off by saying that I NEVER get my nails done because I like doing them myself because I get bored and change the color every week lol, but when I heard Topcoat opening and specialized in organic, natural, non-toxic ingredients in their products I had to give it a try! I drove all the way from the NoVa area and it was 100% worth the trip! Location is great, right in the Inner Harbor so I came early for my appointment to walk around, grabbed delicious seafood, and sat by the water. Interior is so spacious, modern, chic, and relaxing.

Anyway, it was my first time getting a dip powder manicure and it was such a fun and cool process! Jennifer was very accommodating and understanding of my indecisiveness and never made me feel rushed. After spending so much time going back and forth between what nail color and designs to get, she was able to incorporate all my ideas and I LOVE the result! My nails are so strong and I can see them lasting even longer than the estimated 3 week time. I've been getting so many compliments on my manicure and I'm seriously so obsessed! My friend got a gel pedicure with Amy and she loved her experience as well.

They are also taking all the necessary precautions during Covid. I felt very safe here. The workers are all so friendly and know great customer service. Like I said, I never get my nails done but honestly after my experience at Topcoat I'll definitely be coming back and might be making it a...

Amy squeezed me in for a spur of the moment appointment. I passed by on my way to the dry cleaners, and it reminded me that I had this place on my list to try. I rushed over to see if they had an open. She said she could see me immediately after leaving my errand. She was super accommodating with my requests for a light, neat, and natural looking manicure for a commercial shoot. The place was clean and welcoming. Will try them again for a pedicure, Lord wiling in the future.
