I was in room 2426, which I believe is on the southwest corner of the building. Be warned that if they give you that room you should immediately ask for a different room. The floor in that room is visibly off level, so the beds are also not level. The side of the room with the head of each bed is noticeably sunken down making the beds very uncomfortable with your feet being higher than your head.
When I tried to sleep it was very uncomfortable and after tossing and turning for quite some time I called the front desk to ask them to move me. They said the hotel was fully booked with no rooms available, but they would send a maintenance engineer up to see what the issue was.
When the engineer came up he said he couldn't see the floor was out of level because he isn't a structural engineer, and after several minutes he acknowledged that the head of the bed was noticeably lower than the foot of the bed. I told him I appreciated his visit and asked him to report back to the manager what he observed, which he said he would do.
I ended up sleeping on the bed backwards with my feet at the head of the bed, however being that I'm 6'8" I basically had to sleep in a very uncomfortable position because my legs normally hang off the end of the bed even when laying on it diagonally. In my case my feet were pressed up against the headboard. I managed to sleep for 2-3 hours out of pure exhaustion, but it was far from good quality rest that is needed on a business trip or just being human.
In the morning when I checked out they asked me how my stay was and I told the clerk about the issue and lack of sleep. Her response was simply to say that she'd let a manager know and then dismissed me by thanking me for staying with them. I didn't hear anything from anyone.
While I'm not a structural engineer either, I have been in real estate for a long time. The deflection in the floor is extremely apparent when walking in the room or looking at the bed or other fixtures in the room. The other person traveling with me said their room was fine, so maybe this is limited to that one floor and/or corner of the building where this room is located.
I've attached some pics and a video is linked below. It's not easy to capture the issue in the pictures, but if you have an eye for things being out of level you can get a sense of it by comparing the bed with the windowsill and crown molding. The desk/stand under the TV can be seen clearly leaning away from the wall in a few pictures, and in the video the sliding shower door is a good indicator of the floor being out of level.
I had previously posted a video link here, however I have removed it because it seems that my review is being blocked for some reason. I am trying to repost without the video to see if that is the issue. The video clearly shows the shower door rolling on it's own since the floor under it is not level.
Ultimately, you rent a hotel room to get a good night's rest and that's far from what I got. After letting them know about my experience they didn't seem to care when they said they'd let a manager know with zero follow up.
Out of concern for a potentially larger issue I may take this a step further. With a 40+ story building sitting on the waterfront it is certainly concerning that the structure is not level. It makes me wonder if the structure is sinking, and may become or is already unsafe. I didn't see any cracks in the walls and other signs of active movement, but I have no way of knowing whether they are actively maintaining the aesthetic of the room to cover it up. I will report this to the building department, or whatever they call it in Baltimore, so they can check it out if they choose.
Overall it's too bad that this is the condition of the room, they rent it out as if nothing is wrong, and it would have otherwise been a good stay if that wasn't the case. Maybe I'm in the minority here in how uncomfortable it was to try to sleep with my feet being higher...
Read moreI stayed five nights for a conference. The hotel is in a great location, not far from the airport and across from the Inner Harbor. The area is very walkable. The metro isn't too far away- about a 15-20 minute walk and I saw buses running frequently. The staff were courteous and helpful and I really appreciated the convenience store in the lobby, although I wish there had been more options, including milk. They have cereal but not milk. I had to go to three stores for milk and ended up buying more than I needed at Whole Foods. Most restaurant options were a little too far to walk there, eat and return in time for the next conference session. I ordered DoorDash and contrary to what I was told, the hotel does hold your food on a shelf to the right of the desk. I wish I had known that in advance. ||The hotel is huge and not all the elevators go to all the floors. The elevators can fill up quickly and be a little slow during peak hours. ||My room was huge and I really liked the little tiled area where the coffee/tea maker is. The bed was comfortable but the pillows were way too soft and completely destroyed my neck. I ordered more foam pillows which were delivered promptly and those were better but still soft. There was a little bit of noise, mostly on Saturday coming from the pavilion across the river, but I live in the city and the little bit of noise didn't bother me at all. I brought ear plugs just in case. I loved having individual climate control. When the weather turned cold, I shut the air off and turned it back on when needed. Having wifi in the room was nice too.||The conference rooms were nice but sometimes a little cold. The water dispensers were convenient. I also liked the little lounge off the lobby. I went down to eat takeout dinner and socialize on the last night just to say hi and bye to everyone. Monday I was able to store my bags and the bell man was giving someone else directions on where to go. I confirmed with him that people were out and about walking around in the storm and went out myself. ||Event catering was dreadful. I ordered a special meal which the event organizers claimed they spoke to the hotel chef about. They gave me a special ticket to show the server. I was not sitting at the table when the food arrived and as a result did not get the special meal I ordered. I tried to scrape off the vegetable sauce on top of the pasta and eat the pasta underneath but the pasta was undercooked/raw and inedible. All I had for dinner was two rolls and a cupcake. The cupcake was a little dry and didn't have enough raspberry filling. ||What I did not like was the enormous amount of fees tacked on to the supposedly great group rate. This hotel is way above my affordable price range and I had budgeted for the group rate and some taxes and fees but not $100 worth! This is why I would not recommend this chain...
Read moreWe attended a wedding in Baltimore 6/28/25. We needed a hotel we live in the Chicago area. I wanted to stay where the wedding party was staying - a block of rooms were reserved. That was the first thing I felt was not handled correctly. The rooms were not all together, they were on many different floors. So you really were not near family. After the first night when we went to make the bed, we realized the thin comforter which was sandwiched between a top sheet and the bedspread was covered with brown stains ( see picture). 😬 We had already slept one night with this blanket. I went out in the hallway, found a maid and showed her. She got us a different blanket. The next morning when I got up I used a fresh wash cloth to wash my face. I realized while I was using it that there was a lot of black curly hair embedded in the Terry nap of the wash cloth. ( see picture) Ugh I am a reddish blond, this is not my hair. The room was expensive - well over $500 for 2 nights. There was a nice view of the harbor in the distance beyond an ugly roof which I cropped out of my photos. I'm sure all the views are not like that. The room had a small frig and a coffee maker. 2 cups of coffee are provided with a couple tea bags. The frig was empty. Here's a clue Marriot, 2 cold bottles of water would go a long way towards leaving us with a better impression of you and would cost the hotel next to nothing. The first night I walked down to the front desk and bought a 25.3 oz bottle of water so essentially the large bottle equaled 2 regular size. It cost $10.60. The next day we walked very close and bought our water at regular price - under $2 for a single bottle. The buffet breakfast over the weekend is super good. The workers were all helpful and kind. The breakfast for 2 with the tip was right around $90. When we left Sunday morning and checked out I told the desk clerk about the dirty blanket and the pubic hairs on the wash cloth. She apologized for the blanket and said we are in the process of replacing the blankets. She didn't say much about the hair. When you pay these prices in our area, there's a chocolate on your pillow and often a steam shower or some sort of hot tub. We won't stay at Marriott again. Not a value. I tried to report this this - they don't take photos. A photo is better than a thousand words. The man said he would open a case and the location would contact me. I made it clear I would be posting an honest review. So here it is. See attached photos. * 10/13/25 Management never called. They don't care at all. We are a drop in the bucket. That's OK, there are many places that will take our $500 with a smile. ...
