Homewood Suites by Hilton Orlando at FLAMINGO CROSSINGS Town Center — Hotel in Bay Lake

Stayed 5 nights for my son’s baseball spring training. It was also March break for most school kids so the hot was quite busy. ||Check-in was a breeze.||Lobby was huge and clean. ||Business centre has 2 computers for whoever needs to use it. ||Breakfast area was also huge! Love the mickey waffles but I hope they have more offerings to rotate from. The daily staple - waffles, bread, eggs and potatoes (either home fries, shredded or patties) then the proteins|1st day - pork sausages and chorizo|2nd day- canadian bacon (more like round hams)|3rd - shredded pork or beef carnitas|4th - sausages again.|5th day - bacon |The breakfast crew were attentive and always on top of things. Restocking or cleaning. I always went down past 8:15 and never had a problem finding a spot to sit on. Line at the waffle was long but moved quickly - there were 3 waffle makers. |Doors were always close by 9 but as longs as you’re by the food section, they allow it. Never cleaned the trays as until the last guest got their food. YOU JUST CANT ENTER ANY MORE. ||Elevators, 4 sets and always quick to arrive.|Gym and laundry share the same area. $3 a load. The dryer had trouble accepting some of my quarters a d I had to ask the front desk to change my quarters to what he had. Even those weren’t being accepted or I had to keep trying until the machine accepted it. ||A huge hit for my son was the pool and the slide. His teammates stayed at Fairfield Inn, which was just across Homewood but the kids liked the pool at our hotel so they joined my son every time he went for a dip. |Im glad there were no chair hogs. |Odd number rooms facing the pool/back of the hotel. Even number rooms facing the street or Flamingo Crossing plaza.||The proximity of the hotel to restaurants, mini Target and Walgreens made it very convenient for us to grab some stuff that we needed. |Went to buy deli, yogurt, fruits, water for snacks, etc when my son had games. ||The hotel is JUST outside of WDW so beware if you dont like crowd or lil ones running around. They also allow dogs.||When I was doing my upgrade for the room I was offered room facing Disney’s fireworks. I didn’t, but if this is something you’d be interested in choose the room that ends in 02.||I opted for 2QNs suite with sofa bed. The room was enormous for the 5 of us plus our dog. They could fit another queen in the bedroom and still had room to move around. Plenty of spot to sit on as well as outlets to charge your electronics. |Closet and drawer space were enough for our clothes and footwear. |Kitchen was well stuck with plates, drink wares and utensils as well as pots and pans. Full size fridge, dishwasher and cooktop. ||My only 2 complains were (1) the drain on the tub, it didn’t drain well. I had to turn off the water while shampooing or scrubbing my body to give it time for the water to go down.I hated having dirty water on my foot. Hope the maintenance can do something about it. The screw for the towel bar by the sink is loose as well as the toilet paper. |(2) Housekeeping must not have vacuumed or cleaned the washroom thoroughly after the last guest because the floor and toilet bowl has some powder. When I used the tub mat to wipe the floor, it was orangey. Im guessing a foundation fell and broke that caused those lil coloured particles on the floor. It was a nuance when you walk barefoot and felt them. ||I wont hesitate to stay here again. Even the kids...

My stay here was less than pleasurable.  The lady a the desk was very welcoming and nice.  The problem didn't occur until I went to my room. At first glance you would think there would be no issues with cleanliness because the door has a seal on it that says that it's

verify clean room.  When I entered the room I found the bathroom had hair all over it. I called down to the first desk and the attendant apologized and asked me to come down to get another room.  As I entered the second "verified" clean room, again there was hair all over the bathroom and urine on the floor. My husband went to the front desk and ask to speak to a manager.  I came down and explained my concern about their being two dirty rooms.  I told her it's unacceptable especially for a relatively new hotel.  I told her that was the reason I picked this specific hotel because it was new.  The manager was very RUDE.  She proceeded to tell me if your not happy we can move to the hotel next door because we can't going back and forth with you switching rooms.  I told her I would not have to switch rooms if they were clean in the first place.  I told her to come up and look at both rooms so she could see for herself.  She refused, her attitude was unbelievable.  She offered to have her cleaning staff clean the bathroom only and credited me one night.

I was advised upon check in that room cleaning is only by request.  I let the attendant know up front I wanted my room cleaned everyday.  I was there for 5 days the only cleaned it the 2nd and last day.  When I went to the front desk on the 4th day to ask them to clean the room since they didn't clean it the day before, the attendant was very rude and was like I will see what I can do.  Needless to say the room was not cleaned and the same rude manager was staying right beside her when I asked her to have it cleaned.  My guess is she may have told her not to do it.

Last, the pool is shared between Homewood Suites and Home2.  I observed several people that were not guest at the hotel accessing the pool.  This made the pool very overcrowded.  I know for a fact that they were not guest of hotel because I witness people arriving in their cars and when they were finished swimming get back in their car and left.  I also overheard a couple ladies at the pool say that they come frequently on the weekend to swim.

For this to be a new hotel it was very disappointing. I will not stay here again.  The lack of customer service and cleanliness is enough for me. I will be filing a formal complaint with the corporate office. Given the kind of people they have staffed I don't...
