Depending on what you want in a hotel stay, this Residence Inn is good, or not. We checked in at 2am very tired from traveling. Of course they told us from what times breakfast was served in the morning. Did we remember two days later? No. Was it posted in the room or in the dining area somewhere? No. Was it on the TV home page for the hotel? No. ONLY on the app could you find it. (Not a lot of people want another app cluttering their phone. We certainly didn't for its minimal return.) Did we miss breakfast? Yes. Could it have been avoided? Yes, in the ways I mentioned so we could be responsible. When we mentioned this to the front desk on checkout, we were told others had said the same thing. We asked why nothing had changed. We were directed to speak with the hospitality mgr. We had a plane to catch and figured, we had no time to speak to someone about something for which they were already aware and didn't care to change. We opted out, choosing never to use this place again. As far as the room was concerned. it was clean, had towels, and soaps. What it didn't have was coffee pods to speak of. Two of us stayed in the room. Two regular and two decaf pods should have been provided. They weren't. It begged the question of which one of us at night (or morning) was going to win the coin toss to get the second cup of coffee. With housekeeping only servicing a room every two days, each morning we had to track down a housekeeper who spoke no English to get new coffee pods daily and beg for the extra pod which obviously wasn't allowed. Servicing every two days is not a problem for new towels or sheets. I do it all the time at home. Used supplies are a different problem. It begs the question of what were you supposed to do if you were there on business and working in your room? Breakfast consisted of lots of cheap carbs in the form of Mickey Waffles, etc to take your mind off the fact that they were cheap carbs and would fill up the kids. Protein was a choice of undercooked, fatty, very limp bacon, tortured turkey sausage, plain scrambled eggs, and almost inspired versions of cheesy eggs. Fruit was old and tired usually. Yogurt when available was sugar loaded. We lived on scrambled eggs. Lastly the rooms are poorly designed in the first place. There is no chest of drawers in which to put unpacked clothes to tidy a room. We didn't see dishwasher soap, but then we didn't try. But IF you were a business traveler what was your recourse? The huge furnace vent is directed exactly toward one side of the bed. It was noisy and on continuously contributing to poor sleep. Coin toss again to determine who is comfortable at night. All in all, the hotel ranks a 3 depending on what you expect, need, or want. What is disturbing re: this hotel is that they know of some of the problems and change nothing. It's also a Marriott. We expected better. We concluded that it doesn't matter here about guest comfort. Provide the basics. There will always be someone else to take your place. It is after all DW/ US and FL. If a 3 is all you need/want then this place is fine. Hospitality be...
Read moreWe recently stayed at Residence Inn by Marriott Orlando at FLAMINGO CROSSINGS, and I highly recommend this hotel if you're considering booking a room. The staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful throughout my stay. I want to give a special shout-out to Charles, the bartender, who served us drinks with a warm smile and engaging conversation. He also made sure our food order was delivered carefully. Every member of the staff greeted us with a friendly "good morning" and asked if there was anything else we needed.
The breakfast included with the stay was satisfying, offering hot and fresh options. While it may be slightly simple, it was still a great way to start the day. The cleanliness of the hotel, including our room, was impressive. Our room had a fantastic kitchenette that was fully stocked with pots, plates, and utensils, allowing us to prepare simple meals whenever we wanted.
If you're looking for an affordable place to stay for your vacation, I highly recommend choosing this hotel. UPDATE 05/26/2025.... We've stayed at this Residence Inn many times over the years and have always enjoyed it, but this visit was a little different.
We arrived very late — around 1:30 AM — after a long day of driving. When I went to check in, I was told there were no luggage carts available. At that hour, the hotel was quiet, and you'd expect the carts to be back in the lobby. The young man at the front desk was polite and did go searching the hallways for one, but came back empty-handed. So we ended up hauling our luggage up to the third floor by hand, which wasn't a great way to start our stay.
Unfortunately, the cart issue wasn’t just a one-time thing — during our entire 3-day stay, I only saw one cart in the lobby. I’m not sure if the hotel is just short on them or if guests are keeping them in their rooms and not returning them, but either way, it’s frustrating and needs to be addressed.
Another change we noticed — and this is our second time seeing it at a Flamingo Crossings property — is the closure of the indoor lobby bar. It seems they’ve shifted entirely to the outdoor pool bar. While I understand some guests enjoy relaxing poolside with a drink, my wife and I prefer the comfort of the indoor lounge: cool A/C, comfortable chairs, and a quieter atmosphere. Having to go outside every time we wanted a drink just wasn’t ideal for us.
All that said, the hotel itself is still very clean, the rooms are comfortable, the breakfast is great, and the staff is friendly. It’s still a very good place to stay, especially because of how close it is to all four Disney parks. We just hope the small issues we ran into this time are addressed before...
Read moreI had every intention on giving this hotel 5 stars but housekeeping prevented that from happening.
Josh at the front desk who checked us in was great! As well as the young man who brought us clean towels several times and bedding.
When I checked in I asked that we have housekeeping every other day. The first day that we were supposed to have housekeeping we did have our sign on the door until we left which was around 1PM-2PM and then we took it down. When we left there were two housekeeping carts just outside in other room. We thought maybe they hadn’t gotten to our room yet. When we returned to the room, our room had not been touched but there was a sign on the door that we had a pet inside. We had been at Disney all day so it would have been nice to come back to clean towels, dirty towels off the floor and clean bedding. I had to call the front desk and ask for bedding and towels. The young man that brought the clean linens was very nice and took the dirty bedding, he wasn’t able to take the dirty towels as my daughter was already in the shower and I couldn’t get in to give them to him. I asked him if he knew why they didn’t come that day to clean the room to which he told me it was because we had the sign on the door, I asked if they could come the following day since we did have a lot of dirty towels on the bathroom floor he said yes and asked me what time. I told him around 12PM-1PM and he put it in the system. The following day I waited in the room until 12:45 and no one came so I took my children and we walked around hoping housekeeping would come while we were out, we came back around 1:10 and no one was in or outside the room. We went back into the room thinking if they come in we will walk around the building and wait till they’re done. We were in the room until 2-3 and nobody came. We left to go to the mall and go to the beach. When we came back at 10PM, the room had not been touched. Trash was still in the room, no clean bedding, huge pile or dirty towels still on the floor. We were there for 4 days, 2 adults and 2 children and no housekeeping the entire time.
I also didn’t care for there not being a door on the shower so anytime we took a shower water was getting on the floor. I guess luckily we had a huge pile of dirty towels collecting water on the floor from housekeeping not collecting them.
I would consider staying here again only because of the location, it being very close to Disney and some of the hotel staff. I guess if I were to stay here again I would request housekeeping come everyday and I guess hope they come when...
