We stayed as a couple two weeks from|The UK. First of all we had an issue getting to Orlando as we got stuck in Miami due to a crew issue on the last flight of the night, I called the hotel to inform them and told them we would be arriving late and they were fantastic and held our room ready. When we did arrive increasingly tired after a sleepless night on a bench in Miami it was straight to sleep! The room was a single double bed room which was rather spacious. The number one thing for us is cleanliness and this hotel was spotless from top to bottom! It was a lovely size room and as mentioned clean. The hotel itself was great and the staff always friendly. The facilities like the pool were lovely and the free breakfast was a very nice mix of hot and cold options with plenty of food laid on. There was a nice size laundry room on site which we used as well as a fitness center which looked pretty well stocked up.||The location couldn’t be any better with a small shopping complex area opposite with a small Target, 5 below and food including Starbucks, Dominos, Wendy’s and plenty of other options too! |The drive to the Disney parks was simple also with a left out the hotel, right then left and your on Disney property. It is ridiculous how close this is with such a decent price range and great hotel!||We did have one small issue in which due to flights returning home to the UK being full we added an additional night stay. The hotel quoted a lot of money and I had a reward night available through hotels.com so used that. I went to reception to state we had added an additional night and if there was any chance we could stay in the same room? The hotel manager on that night said it was not possible and we would have to move. Now I have no issues with this as it was just a potential and we didn’t want to create a fuss. I again asked if there was a possibility to stay on the same floor and was told this would be unlikely due to the hotel being very busy. Either way we packed our bags and prepared to move to another room. I went to the reception to effectively check out and in and when I got there the new Hotel manager was wonderful. I said about checking in and when I asked where the new room would be she laughed and said you can stay where you are. Confused I asked if this was ok and she said of course. It was actually really easy as no one is staying in the room at all so it’s no bother. I mentioned we was told that we would have to move and she apologised and said this isn’t true at all and was sorry that the hotel manager the night before hadn’t sorted this out or at the very least left a note on the booking. This is the only reason I have gone with 4 stars.||Other that that a wonderful hotel in a great location with great staff....
Read moreWe stayed here because our stay here 2 months ago was great but we won’t be back. Our checkin service was bad, room was terrible, breakfast not what it used to be, and follow up service after all of that was full of disingenuous platitudes.|| Our stay started with passive aggressive Nick at the front desk. I don’t know why he did it (we were pleasant and friendly when we checked in) but he said he was upgrading our room in accordance with my Marriott status when he really downgraded it. My bf is undergoing chemotherapy and long walks can be difficult. Nick put us in the furthest away from the elevator, tiny little room with no view. By the time we got there, we were so tired we didn’t want to fool around with complaining and moving rooms. I called down to ask Nick what made this room an upgrade and he told me that it has 1 king size bed instead of 2 queens. Well 2 queen beds would not have fit in that tiny room. This was a really major downgrade from the room I booked without any compensation whatsoever. Sorry doesn’t go very far if you aren’t willing to back it up and this hotel is not willing to acknowledge their mistakes and try to make up for them.||At breakfast the next day, I was excited because my recollection was that the area was clean and safe for those who, like me, must be gluten free. It wasn’t. Everything was so cross contaminated. They put the ‘gluten free’ waffle maker right next to the regular ones. People kept using it with the gluten waffle mix because they didn’t want to wait for the other waffle makers. There was no one in the dining area to clean it or warn anyone else that it had been cross contaminated. It really should be in a different spot of breakfast area from the regular.||My Marriott status was again ignored when I asked for a late checkout and was denied. All in all, if you are a frequent traveler with Marriott status, you might want to stay elsewhere. There are a number of modestly priced hotel options in the Orlando area - I wouldn’t risk staying here again. ||I note that a representative emailed me and asked that I give the hotel another chance. I asked if that meant a discounted or complementary stay (which, after downgrading my last room would be the least they could do) and he said, no. lol. They didn’t even offer to comp my account a few thousand points after the downgrade and...
Read moreWe came here because I gave this hotel five star rave reviews when we stayed here two months ago. Now, I don’t think we will be back. Nick, at the front desk, checked us in to our room yesterday at about 3:50 PM. I realize check-in is 4 PM. He informed me that our room was not ready. Since I have Marriott gold status, I asked if he was able to upgrade our room or whether we had to wait until 4 PM. He cheerfully told me he was able to upgrade the room and I gladly accepted. When I saw the room, I wished I could take my thank you back. This is not an upgrade at all in fact it’s a downgrade. We have a dinky tiny little room in the farthest corner of the hotel on the third floor with no view. This is a huge difference from our last room, which was spacious. I don’t know if this fellow was passive aggressive or what but it set the tone for a very bad stay.
In the past, I raved about how excellent this hotel is for people with dietary issues. I will say now that I was wrong - it is extremely dangerous. While they do have what is represented to be gluten-free waffle batter and a gluten-free waffle iron, it is not in a separate area and people use it for gluten waffles all the time. There is no one there to clean it or make sure it is safe for those who must be gluten-free. If you cannot have gluten, you will get sick here. Unlike our last stay, there is no one who knows anything in the dining room and no one paying attention to make sure that the gluten-free area is not severely cross contaminated.
Lastly, my gold status has a 2 PM late check out. This hotel refused to honor it and told us that 11:30 was the latest possible. I could have called the corporate office to enforce it, but it’s not worth it for this place. We won’t be back.
It’s too bad, This hotel was so nice last time but not good at all this time. I take back all of my compliments to the management 2 months ago and replace it with - you really need...
