We live nearby and have been wanting to try Simply Capri for a long time. I wish we would have tried sooner! First impressions go a long way and we were greeted by the hostess and manager right when we walked in. It appears that all the servers we talked with are from Italy, much like how it is at Epcot, when you visit each country doing the Around the World. We had a reservation and were seated immediately. The the table was a perfect size for a 2-4 top and the atmosphere inside is charming, warm, and inviting. Very comfortable. I did think the music playing was a bit loud, but it could have been where our table was. I wish I could remember our servers name because he was absolutely fantastic! I asked for a red wine recommendation based on my tastes and it was perfect! He offered the Lasagna Bolognese as their feature of the night, which it sounds like they only offer it on Wednesday’s (lucky me) My wife ordered the Spaghetti con popette. We wanted to try the pizza too, so we split a cheese pizza. Focaccia was served just before our drinks came. It was light and fresh, but I’m just not a fan of Focaccia.
The pizza came out first and it was delicious. The sauce was delightfully unique, packed with a mild flavor that went so well with the cheese that tasted very fresh! The outer crust was perfectly baked with a crisp on the edges. The under crust was a little soft and thin for my taste, but I understand that how it’s made is authentic so I am not being negative about it at all. I can’t wait to have it again.
My lasagna was amazing! The combination of the layers of pasta, packed with very tender Italian sausage were perfect with the meat sauce! I highly recommend this dish!
My wife raved about the fresh spaghetti noodles and how they were the perfect Al dente. Not too soft and not too hard. We agreed the bolognese sauce was better than the tomato sauce, but the only disappointment with the meal were the meatballs. They are made fresh in-house, but they were tough and I was expecting more flavor. I feel a fork should slice through a meatball like butter with not much effort, and they were tough all the way through.
Our server offered dessert, but we were way too stuffed to try anything. We tried to have an after dinner cocktail at the bar but it was full. The manager noticed us wanting to sit and immediately came over and offered our table back until two spots opened up at the bar but we decided to head home instead. You can tell the manager puts his guests first, 100% of the time, and that makes all the difference.
The experience was great! My wife and I loved dining here and I can’t wait to try some other menu items. I wasn’t thinking I’d write a review while I was there so I didn’t take any pictures to share. I felt the need to share the next day because I enjoyed it...
Read moreFirst of all the majority of these 5 star reviews are not genuine. The restaurant most likely either paid for these reviews or asked family and friends to write them as it is very obvious, as every good review has perfectly edited pictures.
Everything about my experience was bad, so bad I’m in the parking lot in front of the establishment writing the review. For starters, the food is not authentic, AT ALL! Not only is it not authentic, it is overpriced and for low quality ingredients. I’ve made frozen grocery store pizza better than them.
So me and my daughter are foodies and we love trying new places so we decided to give Simply Capri a try since we’ve already covered most of the area. I pre looked over their menu and decided I’ll just do carry out as the meatballs were the only thing that interest me, but upon calling to place my takeout order I was told that they only do takeout orders for pizza only, which is ridiculous but oh well. So we decided to dine in. Ugh! I should have just went to Carrabba’s. I paid $15 for four nasty little meatballs, that were also hard and flavorless. I could’ve taken that same $15 and made about 25 meatballs at home that taste better than those, moving on, I decided I would just get a pizza since I was dining in and I’m obsessed with lemonade so of course I ordered that before seeing the $6 price tag, so I asked the waiter was it good and he said yes, turns out it was just water with lemon slices and on top of that the water was not even filtered. SMH, so the waiter comes back to the table trying to offer me another one. I told him no as I was not paying $6 for another one when I didn’t even enjoy the first one. The waiter offered to make me a new one, but instead he went and hid behind the door and the next thing I knew we had a new waitress, my daughter said she saw him discussing the Lemonade with another employee who kept shaking his head no so I’m assuming when he couldn’t change it out he just went into hiding. What a cowardly act. Soon after the new waitress brings out the smallest little pizza, 4 slices I could not believe it, $23 for four small slices. Omg, what a rip off! And of course the pizza was disgusting. Also, the waiter placed the silverware directly onto the table. What an insult. TBH, I think they’re using frozen foods, as both the meatballs and the pizza taste like they came from the freezer section of the grocery store. The low quality ones at that.
Pros: None
Cons: No takeout accepted other than pizza Overpriced Low quality ingredients Nothing tastes good Unfiltered water No plastic silver Subpar Service Not Authentic No toppings offered, like oregano, pepper flakes, etc. No goat cheese I do not recommend and I will never come...
