The only redeeming factor was the guy at the front desk. Our 2 room king suite advertised to sleep 5 was one room with a half wall that barely slept 4. We requested a rollaway bed and had to move furniture to find a place to put it. Then we kept tripping over it because it stuck out into the middle of the room. We only had 3 towels for a room that supposedly slept 5. We asked for a bigger room and were told by the manager that a king bed sleeps 3, so we now have space for 6, it should be fine. He said we were in the biggest room they have.
The first morning our toilet clogged. Three hours and 4 phone calls later, it still wasn't fixed. Got a call from the front desk that they had a bigger room for us... Not sure how this suddenly existed, but we'll take it. We are now in a 2 room queen suite... Still only 1 room, but at least it's bigger with 2 beds. Walking past our old room a couple hours later, maintenance is finally in there and I overhear them complaining about how disgusting the toilet is. Well it wouldn't have been so bad if you're come 5 hours ago when we called!
Our keys stopped working on 3 different occasions.
Breakfast was decent. Little variety and everything was cold and dry, but at least they had good yogurt and fresh fruit. The eggs and ham were awful.
We were here 5 days and every day we had to ask for more towels. Here's a thought - how about leaving as many towels as you take? Or better yet, if they're hung up or folded on the counter, don't take them!! Housekeeping was awful the entire time, but the worst was the day they didn't come at all. I called the front desk and was told they were running behind but would be here shortly. I said our room was fine and we had enough towels, but we needed soap and the trash needed taken out. As long as that was taken care of, they could skip cleaning our room. Returned to our room 6 hours later and it still hadn't been touched! Called the front desk and he brought soap and took our trash out because he didn't even trust housekeeping to take care of us at that point.
The pool area was decent but the water chemistry was off and we all ended up with itchy skin. My husband has asthma and the chlorine smell was so strong he couldn't stay in the area without having an asthma attack.
My mom also stayed here and while she didn't have the issues we did (single person, king room. Hard to go too far wrong) her room smelled like mildew and the air conditioner was really inconsistent. Plus every time housekeeping came in they moved stuff and she had to search for it.
The front desk guy was super nice and apologetic, but we'll...
Read moreStaff lied about a situation because I am an employee at another location. Apparently, employees dont receive the same treatment, we dont matter like regular guests....because the Guests directly above us were extremely loud for 2 HOURS!! My fiance, kids & i needed to sleep due to our work schedules being 2nd & 3Rd shift. I called the front desk TWICE to report the noise & nothing was done about it. Our bathroom toilet area flooded with toilet water from the very same room I had complained of flowing from the ceiling! My child did go upstairs to ensure everything was okay & the staff BLATANTLY LIED as did the guest & somehow my employer was lied to & told that i had to be asked to leave! IM the one that got blacklisted & my employer spoke with me about it, yet it's not even true! The guest above us should have been the one blacklisted for causing my family to lose sleep!!! And shame on the front desk for not doing anything about the noise when i asked twice & for lying about having to ask me to leave!! I want that on camera!!! No proper investigation was done by management because there is NO FOOTAGE OF ANYONE TALKING TO ME ABOUT LEAVING OR CALLING OR SPEAKING TO ME IN ANY FORM! if an investigation had been launched AT ALL, they would have the truth on camera. Yet I am blacklisted?? Shame on this location! Just because I am an employee elsewhere doesn't make me less important & my family any less important! Our sleep was directly interfered with & we coudnt use the bathroom! And if they had spoken to people present in the hallway instead of compulsively lying or perhaps believing a hysterical mother that won't control her children as to her conversation with my child, then anyone would see that I was not the problem! I doubt the mother above us was lying either. She enjoyed my child's company. Someone is lying on staff & it's not fair to me as employee! Even if it was not entirely appropriate for my chlld to have spoken with the guests above us, I CALLED FRONT DESK TWICE THEN OUR BATHROOM STARTED POURING toilet water & people were running & screaming for 2 HOURS ABOVE ME WITH NO FRONT DESK INTERVENTION! my child probably thought something was wrong & the absence of front desk or management after complaining one tends to become proactive in their choices. Interesting that employees are treated this way. I love my job but i have now lost respect for Marriott. Someone in my church owns Matriott & this is unacceptable! Employees...
Read moreI visit Beloit numerous times a year and each time we typically would stay at Fairfield despite the mediocre service and dated rooms. More recently, in the beginning of May 4th I left my prescription glasses in my room. Upon realization (that same day), I called and the same gentleman quickly returned my call to confirm they had them and instructed that they would mail them to me. A week later, I received a call from them saying they needed a credit card number (one week wasted, why not ask on initial confirmation call) and i had to call back with the number, which i did within 24hours- but was instructed that I had to call back when manager was on duty. I called back a few times trying to reach a manager who was always either busy or not there until finally a front desk receptionist begrudgingly took my cc info and told me she would pass it along. I went on vacation and on May 20th, two weeks later, came back to nothing. I called about once a week after, each time being told either Travis or Laura would call me back. It finally lead me to today June 30th (which is 8 weeks to the day from initial call) to FINALLY have the manager return my call (surprise, surprise Laura has a voicemail that nobody thought to transfer me to the first 10 calls). Upon the return call, Laura informed me she did not any longer have my glasses (initially they assured me they had them and described them to a t) but must have mailed them. My card was never charged nor do they keep any sort of log or paper trail to confirm mailing... all this and all they can say is " we are sorry, but you left your glasses." I'm at a loss at the incompetency this staff has displayed- even more so at the manager that leads the charge with equal if not more inadequacy. I do realize that it was I that left my glasses but upon initial call, I was assured they would be returned to me, I have since waited 8 weeks chasing them down to find out they do not take any accountability for their actions. With the loss of a $500 item that could have been replaced 8-weeks ago - they have lost my business and I hope to take my riding...
