When at checkout I asked to not purchase 2 items. The cashier, after numerous attempts to get me to buy a warranty package, asked me 3 times to buy the items, even said, "come on i saw all those $20's in your wallet" at which point I had to open my wallet to show her it was empty because she wouldn't drop it. Not realizing I had set my wallet down to bag my belongings I forgot it there. The following day, when returning lumber, I was told twice by the girl in the back that I should put it back myself. This is after she saw me, then walked away to a desk where another man had to help me. Coming back to the front i was finally then told that I'd need an ID to return the items. This girl already had an attitude before I began talking. I asked to talk to a manager who then told me I do need an ID to return the materials. He also said, "if you want to ask someone out in the parking lot for their ID you can and we can do it that way". I then drove home to grab my wallet, which was actually still back at menards. Went back and asked them if my wallet was there which they handed over to me right away, the same girl that had the attitude to begin with was right there but not who handed me the wallet. They didn't ask me my name or what color it was or anything just handed it over. I wish that this was my first experience like this with the Beloit Menards. Unfortunately it is very common here. I spent close to $20,000 at this store in the second half of 2021 and im going to be spending probably triple that in 2022 but it won't...
Read moreWally world of home stores located next to Wally world The only one not in direct competition with me. I think corporate has lost it's touch with it's roots. Seems to making a lot of thing rebranded from China. Wonder what's going to happen when tariffs kick in. I have a love hate relationship with them. Not as personable, nor as knowledgeable except what they are pumped with from some of their vender marketing reps and that info is obviously biased. They are geared toward the cheap end. I was told this by a manager at another store. Seems to throw the quality end out the door. Don't like it when they don't replace the burned out lights. Some things are hard to see as it is and it seems you have inspect every square millimeter of every product because oftentimes there are issues. Many you don't notice UNTIL AFTER you get it into different light. I'm beginning to wonder if this isn't by design. Sure you can spend more of your most valuable resource (time), take it back, exchange,,, yada, yada. Place IS NOT CONTRACTOR friendly. Do you really save big money? No, especially when you factor in inferior quality, time to locate and get stuff, then check out, then load up. I can have orders picked! So I have to wade through the crap and waste my time going through the return process. Been...
Read moreSpent 15 min in the electrical small parts looking for an item with one young lady doing a planogram on one side of me(she actually looked annoyed as if i was in her way by shopping and paying her wages and actually went and stood by the desk until i was done in the isle )and another older guy putting away stock from a cart and was totally ignored,no can i help you,no hello, on nothing but playing with their merchandise. The customer service at this location has became non-existent to say the least and is a sad example of terrible management, from the top down. This store when it opened prided itself with having the best customer service in the area&the gm&managers and employees made sure EVERYONE was greeted with a hello and if they needed something the employees were instructed to walk the guest to the product, not point and say "its over there" I can say these things because i was there when it opened&spent a long time working there doing just what i described with customers, not ignoring them. Sad to say but when the last few "original" employees leave this store, the idea of reciving ANY help from an employee at menards new idea of guest service will be a fantasy... I'll just save the frustration(and disgust) of menards new business model and...
