My worst hotel experience to date.
My wife and I stopped here for one night on our way through Beloit. We had driven 13 hours and all we wanted to do was sleep. We got all checked in, the front desk guy was very nice. We got up to our room and pulled back the sheets to find multiple hairs (not ours) on the pillows. there were also stains on the sheets. I was wondering if the room had even been cleaned. I called down to the front desk and he apologized and set us up in a new room. We got into our new room and immediately looked at the pillows. The pillows looked good so we pulled the sheet down and there were several long hairs in the bed. I picked up the phone to call back down to the front desk and the phone wasn't working. I walked back down stairs and just asked for new sheet since we were on our second room of the night. He said he didn't want us to have to change the sheets so he set us up in yet another new room. We get into the room and the pillows AGAIN have hair on them. I get new pillows and the man at the front desk says that he checked the other rooms and he only found one hair in both rooms. really? you think I'm lying? no. We get new pillows and crawl into bed. My wife pulls the sheet up and THERE'S MORE LONG HAIR ON THIS COMFORTER. How hard is it to wash sheet properly? 3 rooms, 6 pillows and we still had someone else's hair in our bed. Needless to say, we wanted out...

A friend and colleague had called to reserve two rooms on July 7th 2017, one for himself and another for yet another colleague. While on the phone, he spoke with a woman who was able to reserve two rooms as requested. When they arrived at the desk to work out the details and get room keys, a man was present who then stated to my colleague that there was only one room for him and that no woman was present, basically also calling him a liar to his face. When my colleague protested and stated that he had reserved TWO rooms and would be paying with CLC (Corporate Lodging Card), and also that he had spoken with the woman on the phone, the "Manager" (?) stated that there were now NO rooms available to him. My colleague then went outside to start making phone calls to other hotels in the area whilst the other colleague walked up to the counter and MAGICALLY there were two rooms available to him! (colleague #1 is black/African-american, colleague #2 is white/Caucasian)
To me, this is a huge no-no and because of this I feel that this hotel should not receive anymore business. I will also be contacting Wyndham Corporate Offices to file a complaint on this particular location. Also, as someone local to the Stateline IL/WI Area, I will do everything I can to warn people about how the front desk...
Read moreThe only positive thing was the friendly desk attendant the evening we arrived. The entire facility reeked of what was probably a sanitizer in an attempt to cover odors. Our daughter had to get clean sheets to remake her bed as the sheets had hair on them. The carpet felt as though it was wet (sanitizer?) and I wore shoes the entire time in the room. The beds were very uncomfortable. The grab bar in the tub was missing completely. The water control in the tub/shower was so difficult to pull on I had to have my husband turn/pull it for me. Whoever had attempted to "remodel" the bathroom did a very poor job painting (wall paint on the doors). The vanity front had been cracked and rather than replaced had some kind of block that appeared to be put in place to hold the two pieces of the marble/granite (not sure which) together. Some towels had certainly seen better days, actually being gray rather than white. I refused to make coffee in the in-room coffeemaker as it was obvious it had not been cleaned in some time. My husband ate some of the breakfast items, but I refrained and had only coffee from the buffet. The morning desk attendant, the same person in charge of the breakfast buffet, was not on the friendly side. Before leaving, I called the national number to cancel the reservations previously made for our trip back through WI in October. I would not recommend this...
