The hotel had a distinctive smell. Smelled like clothes that you don’t fully dry. Also smelled like cigarette although it clearly states non-smoking. My 3 day stay was not pleasant. I should have stayed for 2 weeks while my kitchen got renovated but I could not stand the eerie environment! The table in my room was old & falling apart. The appliances were outdated in the kitchenette and stained as well. A few roaches ran across the counter when I opened the stove. The air conditioner barely cooled the room. The remote for the tv did not work therefore we had to manually change the channel every so often. The room did not come equipped with a safe. The bathroom did not have toiletries such as sample lotion, toothpaste, toothbrush, or hair shampoo. There were only sample soap bars in plastic wrappers. Housekeeping did not ounce come to our room even to ask if we needed towels or anything. This hotel and room advertised free breakfast, however it should have just said muffins, granola bars and coffee because that’s exactly what was available for “breakfast”, not a bagel, not eggs, not pancakes, not waffles. Like seriously i know the price was good but I’ve gone to hotels where I’ve paid the same or even less and have gotten far better service and updated rooms. I picked the most economical room I could find at the time of night, it was past 10pm and my daughter and I had just suffered a fire in our apartment. It wasn’t safe to stay and that was the nearest with a room available. Parking sucks as well, there was absolutely no parking space in front of the hotel so we had to find a barely visible spot & use the flash light of our phones to walked around to the front, as well as watch out for some stray cats that were there, back to getting to the front of the hotel, the door was locked (I’m assuming because of the time of night), therefore we had to dial zero from a phone in a box, the receptionist answered with an attitude and less than friendly tone said “she’s coming”. She took approximately 5 minutes when seated directly in front of the door. NEVER AGAIN WILL I BOOK WITH EXTENDED STAY AMERICA, horrible experience and I will make sure to write to the BBB in regards to my experience. I even notified the receptionist at the time of checkout of my less than mediocre experience and she just nodded as if she was ashamed as well, I felt sorry because she...
Read moreTerrible people running this extended stay. I travel as a healthcare work and I have been staying in extended stay america for over 3 years- at different states. This particular extended was one I never experience. They gave me a smokers room, keep charging me extra fees every week. I booked my reservation online. I arrived and the front desk guy keep mentioning no smoking, I kept telling him I do not smoke. We went to go look at the room I noticed a smell but it was not too powerful but you can smell it. I noticed they had placed their own sented plugs, so I took it off because I didn't like the smell. As the hours went by the smell of cigarette smoke is getting heavy. I couldn't bare the smell so I booked another hotel room across the road. The next morning I told the front desk to go smell the room, it's perfume with cigarette smoke. He began to get hostel and said they had no room available. I should come back in 2 hours time to see if there's one available. Came back they magically had one ready. 2nd week time for me to pay, the guy pulls out a calculator to tell me what I need to pay. Last I check the system already generates the set rate & taxes so my payment should not be different every week. I asked him why the increased he said his manager increase the pay & that he would talk to the Manger. This time they not going to charge me the extra $50. 3rd week of me ready to pay, his going to tell me I owe $150 more because I didn't pay the extra $50 last week and the rate changed. He started getting hostel and raising his voice. I called the cops on him. He wouldn't show me my itinerary nor would he print it out. He told me check out the same day and to pay the $50 they charge me the week before. The manager goes and put DO NOT Rent on their system. I DID NOT violate any of their policies. So they would hear from my lawyer. These people are criminals, their hotel rooms smell so bad of cigarette and Indian scent. DO NOT BOOK HERE, they are very rude and...
Read moreWe actually stayed at this property for a couple months, in the vain hope that our experience would improve. ||||It didn't so we moved to another hotel a few blocks away. ||||We've stayed in hotels all around the world, including third world and developing nations, and I must say that this Extended Stay property would fit right in toward the bottom of the list of bad hotels. ||||The list of issues is lengthy, but the nutshell version is this: ||||- Trash strewn about the premises||- The room and public areas were not well-maintained; obviously cleanliness and functionality are not priorities||- We had to practically beg for our room to be cleaned; the room was never thoroughly cleaned in our entire three month stay||- On the three times during that three-month period when somebody finally came to the room to clean, we had to walk them through the things we expected while they continually asked "anything else?" after each step; in hotels with staffs that care, they simply do their jobs--not so at the Inverness Extended Stay||- The stove and oven were filthy when we moved in and despite asking the staff to clean them, the only cleaning they got was from our own efforts||- It was obvious that the staff was using the COVID debacle as an excuse to avoid working because they never changed linens, provided even a grab-and-go breakfast, dumped trash, provided toiletries, or anything else, and when they did do any of those things they first offered some COVID-related excuse as to why they couldn't do whatever it was that we asked||||Not only do I not recommend this location of Extended Stay America, but they've ruined my taste for the brand everywhere. I cannot and will not trust a brand that does not do a better job policing its own properties. If they don't care about their corporate name, then I cannot...
