I have been a member of the Choice Hotels program for many years. I always stay at Choice Hotels because I have come to trust that my stay is typically pleasant, reliably clean, and a good balance of value and niceness. This stay was the WORST stay I've ever had in a Choice Hotels property. The cleanliness was terrible. The room was antiquated and looked worn and unmaintained. There was some dirt or something on the bed. There was a previous guests "nasal discharge" dried on the shower curtain. Things were dusty, rusted, and unsightly. The vent in the bathroom was ridiculously loud yet didn't keep the mirror from fogging up badly, probably due to the dust and dirt caked in the slits of the vent. There were loud people in other rooms as well as outside my window. The mattress was lumpy and worn out. Suffice to say, I will NEVER stay at this location again. There are too many other options in the same price range and same area that are surely better than this place.

I recently booked a one night stay on my way to another destination and chose this hotel due to the location and price. Unfortunately, the condition of our third floor hotel room was not great. The room was very humid, the AC barely worked, and there was visible mold on multiple surfaces, including the wall art and mattress. While the front desk employee was able to move us to another room, I was still disappointed with the quality of the new room.

Cheap place to stay for a night. Had to go to the front desk for new sheets. The towels were very old, and carpet had stains all throughout. The curtains don't close all the way (and dirty)... That's a problem for the 1st floor room I was in (the room came with tape though). The simple esthetic things like caulking, paint, ghetto spot repairs, and were all substandard. Basically, normal situations in a $50 hotel.

I have give the GM of the property 10 days to respond to my issues via email and they have yet to respond so I am posting the issues online so that Choice or the GM may respond.

Upon arrival, I walked my service dog before checking in and walked past three vehicles with people smoking marijuana. The smell was not mild but very strong. THIS IS NOT ACCEPTABLE.

My credit card was authorized a second time for $109 after the card was authorized for $84.90. I was told the $109 charge was for a deposit. This is ridiculous for you to collect money for a deposit that exceeds the total rate of the room with taxes. A credit card authorization for incidentals exceeding $25 at a property for a business traveler as well as a Choice Privileges member. What I can not figure out is why $109 for incidental - Why such an odd number? Charging over $25 for incidentals at a rooms-only property automatically tells business travelers that the property is not safe. The $109 was held for 7 days but the room charge cleared the credit card company in one day. All authorizations should be released and credited back to teh credit card at the same time the charge clears. They held and made money off the interest from their bank. THESE CHARGES ARE NOT ACCEPTABLE.

The desk clerks were friendly but very unprofessional to me and other guests as well as not professionally dressed. This does not give a good message to the business traveler. THIS MUST BE FIXED.

The elevator is in terrible shape and looks like a service elevator, not a guest elevator. This needs to be repaired because that gives the business traveler the feeling of a run-down property.

My room (304) A/C was set at 54 degrees and could not be adjusted to warmer temperatures. I had to turn the unit off in order to warm the room up which took over 30 minutes to be tolerable. If your housekeeping staff keeps all units that cold that is a major energy waste and increases your power bill which lowers your profit. Finally around 4 AM when I woke up due to being hot I was able to turn the A/C back on being it was thawed out but the carpet around the unit was wet and smelled.

The TV picture was dark and I could not watch it.

Mold in the shower around the soap dish, drain, and in one corner of the tub. Also, in the bathroom, the sink drain is worn/rusting and the hair dryer grate rusting.

The front of the refrigerator is rusting.

When I checked out this AM. I was asked if I wanted a receipt emailed to me or printed. I said emailed but did not receive a copy by the time I ate breakfast so I asked the desk clerk for a printed copy and he seemed to be peeved that I requested because I was bothering him while he was on his phone texting someone. The AM desk clerk was unprofessional and was not professionally dressed with a ball cap on at the desk. The lobby/breakfast attendant was very nice and helpful as well as staying busy.

As you can tell my stay at your property was way below what should be expected by a business traveler.

DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL IF YOU WANT...

Very rude and condescending at check in because I wasn’t aware or informed about the $109.00 incidental fee hold when I booked the room. Since I did not know about it I didn’t have the whole amount and was told I wouldn’t be allowed to check in and they weren’t going to issue me a refund of the money I paid to book the room. They kept telling me I knew about it and that it was stated in several different areas while I was booking. Where it was would change everytime I would show them it was not where they stated or anywhere for that matter. Until I guess they ran out of ideas and told me they weren’t denying my reservation but weren’t allowing me to stay there cause I couldn’t pay incidental fee and said they would not be issuing a refund of my booking amount. All the while being extremely rude with a terrible horrible attitude towards me. Finally after calling and waking up family and friends and embarrassing myself I was able to borrow the money from a friend. She then reluctantly checked me in. Kept trying to tell me my business account debit card was a cash app card and just kept getting more rude and more rude.

Upon checkout I was told by the gentleman that I had smoked in my room and I would not be receiving the incidental fee back and they would be charging me for smoking inn the room. I don’t smoke at all period so there was in no way that it was possible for them to even accuse me of smoking in the room. He even told me he could smell the smoke which is a bold face lie because once I again I don’t smoke at all. I feel like I was discriminated against the entire time and bullied and disrespected the entire time. Making my stay anything but comfortable and relaxing. I will never stay there or possibly any quality in...

We Checked in at approximately 1630 on 3/22/2024. We had 2 rooms booked for Friday and Saturday night and would be checking out Sunday morning. The receptionist was very nice. We got in the elevator and headed up to the 4th floor. When we got to the fourth floor, got out of the elevator and it smelled like marijuana bad. We proceeded to our rooms,411 and 412. Upon entering the rooms there was a musty, damp, moldy smell lingering. After walking around the hotel and watching a kid puke in the pool, a guy sitting in the lobby that was on some type of serious drug growning and talking to himself, we decided this was not for us. We went down to the front desk at approximately 1715 and informed the front desk clerk of our concerns. We told her we would like to check out and cancel our rooms due to the room conditions and all-around atmosphere. We asked her if she could refund our 2 rooms for Friday night and cancel our 2 rooms on Saturday night. She said canceling the 2 rooms for Saturday would be no problem but she didn't have the authority to credit back our rooms for Friday. We asked if she could call her manager and she did. After going through everything with the manager he said he would not credit our rooms based off the information we gave him. I'm Sorry but we have small children and I don't feel like this was our problem at all. I would like to request to speak to corporate about this issue. The lady at the front desk handled everything as well as she could and even went up to our floor to smell the place for herself and agreed it was bad. I feel she went above and beyond for everything she had on her plate...
