We chose this location due to the proximity to MSP and have used it for parking two times prior.
Researching the stay and park options they stated up to two weeks free parking online. I called and spoke to the front desk manager and asked if we were able to utilize the free parking being we had a a post trip hotel reservation that was non refundable. She said yes, just go to the front desk when we arrived to drop vehicle.
Day of drop off, I go to the front desk and the same manager I spoke to on the phone now informs me I must pay for parking and that the hotels policy is now free parking only during stay and she must not have understood my questions properly on the phone call. My questions were clear and direct, I work in reservations myself and her answers were direct. We had a plane to catch so I went online and paid $81.00 for parking.
November 2, 2024 we check in that evening and receive keys for our prepaid oversized king room that to our surprise was downgraded to a small 2 double bed room. We were not informed at checkin that they took the liberty to change our room style that I paid premium rates for months prior.
Down in the lobby I got to experience the worst customer service I have ever encountered at a hotel by the front desk manager when we went to tell them we were in the wrong room style. Ms Manager basically informed me that we were 2nd class guests since we booked through a third party. She said multiple times Expedia, but double checking the next day, I booked through my Hilton Honors. She said that they don't have to guarantee the room styles booked and paid for through outside 3rd party sites. She found a room with a queen and we were exhausted after 9 days of travel and desperately needed rest.
We go up to floor 20 to find we are in some sort of party room with a Murphy bed. The first thing we see when we open the door is a nasty Q tip on the floor.. I am not sure how anyone could miss it. When we sat down on the sofa we noticed all sorts of food reminents on the floor, garbage under the TV stand. Again we were exhausted and just wanted sleep. Off to the barely off the floor, rock hard Murphy bed and put the TV on to help me doze off and it froze more than it played. I guess that is the type of room 3rd party guests receive at this hotel.
Next morning we get up hoping to have a cup of coffee... only one cup for 3rd party guests? Down to the lobby to pay $4.00 for a cup of just plain coffee. We returned to the room and went to put a throw pillow back and it looked like dried snot on it. I was ready to run out of the room.
I did speak to the GM, he said he would refund the stay. Time will tell if he will follow through or not.
All and all I would have to say this experience was a 2 out of 10. The biggest contributing factor was the attitude of the front desk manager who basically stated that 3rd party guests aren't valued at this location.
We have stayed with another local hotel that offers free parking and shuttle, the guest service was phenomenal there. We preferred the Doubletree location but are willing to drive a few more miles to be treated with respect and have a clean room and in the...
Read moreNot a good experience. I booked a room through the app last night and the final charge was supposed to be somewhere around $175 for one night, taxes and everything included. The app doesn't work so I have to go to the front desk, fine. Once I get to the front desk the lobby is incredibly crowded and it takes me about 10 minutes to be assigned a room even though I've already made a reservation. Then the woman working (who was very nice) had to have her manager come over to help assign me a room, then I had to tap my card for some reason, even though I had already paid on the app. The total flashed for a split second before going away, and when I asked for a receipt I was told that I couldn't get one until the next day. So I go up to my room and check my banking app only to see that they charged me almost $250. Then, while deliberating on what to do I look out my window towards the parking lot and see a group of three men throwing frisbees directly at cars. I call the front desk, and they say they're going to send security out. Security comes about 15 minutes later after the men have already left. We decide that we do not want to stay, especially at that cost, so I return to the lobby and the manager tries to argue with me that the taxes and incidental fees are almost $100? I show them on the Hilton website that the rate for that night for someone who isn't an honors member (which we are) would be about $150. Remember, when I made my reservation I was told the total cost, with taxes, would be roughly $175. I was never informed about an incidentals fee. The woman brushes me off and says the cost is what it is, so I just cancel the room. To her credit, she does refund me with no service fee or anything like that, but then I had to go find a new hotel at 11pm. On top of all of that, when I told the manager about the frisbees and the fact that I had the plate information of the two cars that the frisbee throwers owned she again brushed me off. I watched the people throwing the frisbees go into the hotel so they were definitely staying there. I'm attaching a video to show one person purposely throwing a frisbee at a car. They also threw it at a red car and the semi parked in the parking lot, that I saw at least. If you came out in the morning and saw that your car is dented, this could be why. Oh! And when I was being helped the second time another woman came down to the lobby and said she had been given a key to someone else's room and walked in on...
Read moreMy family and I stayed at this hotel for the USA Cup tournament which was 5 days. Upon entering the hotel it looked nice and modern. I did the online check in and got my room number therefore we went straight to the room but I did not receive the online key to open the door, so I left my family and luggage there and went to the lobby, where there was a long line and few staff, once I got to reception they told me that the room was not ready and was re-issued another room on the same floor, got my complimentary cookies,ok no big deal. Went back to the floor and went to our new room, upon entering the room was gross and the beds were small for being queen size. I inspected the room and noticed it was dusty, the walls were stained it was not welcoming it all. I decided to go back down and confirm if I got the correct room. I spoke with an older black male, (I should have taken his name) I asked if the beds I got were queen size because they were so small. This man did not even ask what room I was in and just confirmed that they were, I said I stayed in alot of different hotels and those seem too small to be queen he got confrontational and said he will not argue with me, I was taken aback and also mentioned how disgusting the room was, he said for me to take pictures and they will work with me. I was very surprised at this so I went and took pics and went back to reception. The man I spoke to originally was with another customer so I was attended by another gentleman who was much more pleasant and helpful. I told him about the situation and he was surprised that pictures were requested, he told me that he will give me a different room on a higher floor. I went to the new room and it was not any better. The room was hot and stuffy and again it was not thoroughly cleaned. I don't mind wear and tear but when it's things that are in your control for cleanliness this is unacceptable. The bed skirts were so dirty, there was a random dark stain on the carpet by the window the tub nonslip was black. We decided to just stay since reception was rude to begin with, we were tired from our 6 hour drive and the USA Cup rules we were required to stay in the same hotel as the team, therefore we had no choice but to put up with it. Also, housekeeping does not do a good job on cleaning the rooms so it is no surprise as to why they are in the condition they are in. I will never choose to...
