My husband and I stayed overnight at the Crowne Plaza after attending an event at the hotel. The catered dinner was actually pretty good, so my husband and I visited the restaurant for Sunday breakfast.
Parkwoods is filled with beautiful natural light and has a cozy, modern atmosphere. I appreciate the various seating options; you can sit at their bar, at a traditional dinner booth/table, or in the comfy lounge area. It was a beautiful day, so I took my post-breakfast coffee to their scenic garden, Backyard at Parkwoods.
Customer service was solid and we were served promptly and warmly. Our food and beverages came out within a reasonable timeframe.
We ordered: Coffee Buttermilk Pancakes with scrambled eggs Omelet with chicken apple sausage, cheddar cheese, grilled onions, and spinach.
During our evening event, our party enjoyed asian-style grilled salmon, chicken, and vegetable lasagna. The grilled pancakes were crispy yet fluffy. It was very satisfying. My omelet was well prepared and very flavorful.
I experienced some pretty good meals for a hotel restaurant. I would come back for cocktails, Smoked Salmon Toast (breakfast), and Fried...
Read morePhillip is an excellent waiter who exceeds expectations. He gives service with a smile. I would give five stars for Phillip. His day counterparts are totally opposite. They were missing in action to have a personal discussion as observed. PJ is the manager who collects his money with no concern for customers. He makes no effort to make the dining experience better. PJ acts like it is a privilege to dine at Parkwoods. He is clueless about customer satisfaction. The food is not great. The portion is small. The whole experience leaves you thinking why did I spend 62.00 for this plate. I have dined in Paris, Canary Wharf, Amsterdam, and Montego Bay with food that cost far less with a specular taste. The ambience is worth it, but the food is not. I forced myself to eat due to hunger. The Snapper was clearly cut into small pieces as they were budgeting the food, but not the payment. I filled myself with mash potatoes. Parkwoods does not live up to their reputation. There was nothing special here except the price. This is the second bad experience here. The first time the waiters were missing due to personal conversations that were being held between each other. You have to actively seek them out. However, it seems like friday lunch is not a great idea. The dinner isnt either. Im not sure when the timing is correct. The payment is always expected. The food can arrive cold or simply portioned for small bites that...
Read moreI was very impressed with the food at Parkwoods. The seafood was my favorite because it was very fresh. I ate quite a bit of oysters 😆 The Mac & cheese and the salmon were also very delicious. It was a Christmas morning buffet so they also had a carving station for prime rib, charcuterie, belgian waffle station and an omelet station. The omelet station was made to order and the omelet tastes amazing. We also had a mimosa. The mimosas were $10. The mimosas were not the strongest i,ve had but it did taste good. They also had a dessert making station and cookie decorating station. I'm always skeptical when it comes to macaroons because they are usually hard and rubbery at some places, but the ones on their dessert bar were soft and tasted fresh. The vibe was very peaceful and laid back. The server was polite and attentive. I think her name was Latisha. The restaurant makes you feel like you're eating in a glass house. It's beautiful, serene and earthy. Someone was playing jazz music on a keyboard so that enhanced the ambience even more. There is a lot of beautiful art and statement pieces placed throughout the lobby and restaurant. The Christmas Brunch buffet was $49 per adult(without tax) and worth EVERY penny. We paid $8 to park in the parking garage of the Crowne Plaza...
