Booked online with no problem - one room with two queen beds for two nights. Room was ready by the time we arrived and the front desk staff was friendly. They even gave us a call a few minutes after we went into the room to make sure everything was alright.||||Overall, we had a nice stay. The hotel is in a great location. Close to the mall, nice restaurants and a movie theater (the theater is literally across the street and you can walk to it). It's also on the main road that will take you straight to South Padre Island. The room smelled musty, but the bed linens were fresh. This hotel also has free wifi available in all the rooms (unlike the other Motel 6 in the area).||||My main problem was the bathroom. Our first room had a bathroom with a cracked bathtub. When we showered the first time, we received a call from the front desk that the downstairs room was complaining of water pouring into their room. We did a cursory check of the tub and initially saw nothing wrong. It wasn't until my husband stepped in that we realized there was a huge crack in one corner of the tub that management had tried to patch so much that it was a small lump of caulk. ||||Needless to say, we had to change rooms. The second room wasn't much better. This bathtub had one long lump of caulk on the whole right length of the tub. I took the fastest shower possible, afraid that I would crack it if I stepped on it. Also, the towels in the second room were filthy. Two of the large towels looked like they'd been used to dust something and then just folded up dirty and placed back. We had our own personal towels with us so I didn't even bother to call the front desk for more.||||Another thing to note is that there are no hairdryers, and the bathroom doors don't have locks. In our second room, the door didn't even close properly. It would open with just a push of the hand. This is something to keep in mind if you're sharing a room with two or more people.||||Long story short, if you're looking for a cheap motel, you're gonna get what you pay for. This is a good hotel if you just want it to spend the night (as we did since we were at the beach the whole day). If you're looking for something cleaner/newer, I suggest going...
Read moreFirst, the negativity in this review is NOT directed toward whoever was at the front desk to check my wife and I in.
We stayed in room 201. Bring house shoes/slippers, and do not walk barefoot. The floor is filthy, I ended up throwing away a pair of socks rather than packing them into my bag with my other clothes. I barely walked around the room, and they were disgusting. The door latch did not lock. You can tell the room has been broken into numerous times. The refrigerator door is cracked and leaking. The TV remote was inoperable, either dead batteries or just a non-operable. The bed is a table with an uncomfortable mattress on it. If you don't believe me, please stop by. The tub spigot has 2 settings, the left is hot, and the right is the hottest. However, in order to add to the excitement, you'll have intermittent bursts of cold water blast you, just to keep you on your toes. Tip: If the water stays cold, turn it off, wait about 60 seconds, and then turn it back on. The toilet seat predates my own conception. The air conditioner sounds like there is a plastic bag caught inside of it. I understand that this is "just a motel 6." However, this does not mean that it should filthy. The fixtures/furniture are extremely dated, worn, and in need of replacement. The exhaust fan and the ceiling light in the bathroom are literally overlapped, causing reduced airflow. The reduced airflow has spawned a beautiful flora of black mold that covers about 1/4 of the ceiling in the bathroom. There are odd black dots on the ceiling that I could only guess was dried blood. There were dried nasal excretions on the shower wall. I'm not sure how to say this, but had it not been raining, I would've considered sleeping outside. In room 201, the roof did not leak while I was there. The owner puts the least amount of time and money into this establishment. It's clear that they are NOT equipped to run a motel, and it would be in Motel 6s best interest to NOT have their good name attached to such a horrible place. Motel 6, save yourself and get your name off this place. There is an EXCELLENT Motel 6, 8 minutes walking distance away at 2255 Frontage Rd,...

We dropped off our bags and left to visit with friends and family, but before that we needed to get some items to freshen up the room. The room had a paint smell to it and I couldn't figure out why. Well, that was because the bathtub was different colors, the original color and then the white spray paint to cover up the stains. Under the toilet seat there was still left over urine from the previous guests along with left over residue in the sink. We went to Wal-Mart to buy a shower mat, Lysol, and air freshener. I've never been to an establishment where I had to buy items to make our stay more comfortable. After a long night we came back to the hotel room 125, to be greeted by a slew of roaches. There were roaches on the wall, in the bathroom, crawling on the floor, and between the mattress and the headboard. When we left the room, it did not look like this.
We went to the front office to speak to the manager on duty and the gentleman immediately looked for a room for us, but they were sold out, along with their sister property. So for the next two hours, we called other hotels to house us, but everything was sold out. We stayed in our roach motel and slept with the lights to keep the roaches at bay and left immediately at 8AM.
We went to the front to request a refund, but we were only credited one of the two days we stayed there. We were asked "Well, why didn't you leave?" For someone to not show any compassion of the situation; for someone to ask someone such a question baffled me. Where would we have gone? Everything was sold out, risk sleeping in our car?
We did find a hotel to stay at the next day, but the one night we endured was very disappointing.
The conditions of that room was so unbearable and I know that no one on your staff would...
