Was interested in a used 2022 Hyundai Elantra Hybrid back in August. After stopping by and negotiating me and the sales manager settled on a price and was led to Finance. That's when I met Javier Ramirez who is the main reason behind this review. It was late night, and I assume he was the only one there. Looking back I really wish that this guy had off or something because he ended up screwing me over. After he collected both of our information (me and my cosigner) he runs our credit with 4 different banks and comes back with an 11.7% interest rate. This was too high, so the very next day I go back and cosigned with somebody else with better credit. He got back to us with an 8.7% which was a lot better but for full transparency I asked if that was the real interest rate. He revealed to me that my actual interest rate from the bank was 6.7%, but they were adding 2%. He tried justifying it by telling us it was well within their ability to do so, and mentioned that they were "losing money" on the Elantra so that extra 2% would compensate for their losses. I told him that the price I agreed to outside was the price I agreed to, and I wasn't going to finance an additional 2% just to cover their "losses" which is total bs. He then told me he would "ask" to see what he can do about the interest rate but ended up removing the extra 2% without mentioning it to anyone. After this was done he mentioned to me that the bank was asking for proof of income. This was my mistake because I wasn't going to start work until later that month and didn't have proof of income. He told me my second option would be financing through their personal lender and it would have a 8.7% which didn't require proof of income. I was just a week away from starting my new job, so I asked how long were the credit applications good for and he told me 30 days. I asked if they could hold on until I receive my 1st check. He agrees but tells me I would need to keep the car on their lot, and they would place a sold sticker on it. I agreed seeing it would save me $1,400 (I did the math) and returned the car that same day. As the month goes on, I started my new job and was told we would get paid on the 6th of September, atleast 4 days before my credit application expired. During this time, I had noticed that my car was listed on their website for sale, and was listed for $3000 dollars more than what they sold it to me. I messaged Javier, and proceeded to call him in the morning atleast twice which he never answered or responded. I then called the dealership and asked to speak with the sales manager. He tells me it was an error and it would get removed. After receiving that confirmation it took them 3 days for it to finally be removed from their site which during this time Javier didn't even bother to respond. This upset me, but I figured I just needed a few more days before I would get paid and be done with it. Finally I got paid, and wasted no time, emailed Javier my paystub at 4 am and sent him a message letting him know that I had done so. He then finally responds after all this time and tells me he would call the bank in the morning to get it approved. However somehow, someway this never happens...he had four days and tells me everyday that he will call the bank as soon as he can and that he's super busy blah blah blah. I believed him and placed my trust in him never imagining what would come to pass. To wrap up this review, he waits until the last day and tells me the Application had expired and asks if he can run our credit again. This of course pissed me off because why would I wait almost a month to secure a lower interest rate which already impacted my credit score, and then have my credit ran again guaranteeing different rates which I know will be higher! I tell him no which he responds to me with "Ok sound good". In total he ran my credit 7 times, and now I have to wait 2 years for those inquiries to remove. This unacceptable and unethical. I feel as if he did it on purpose to get me to back out of the deal and have the car sold for a...
Read moreWe called yesterday to make arrangements to have a transmission pan on our 2022 Nissan Altima changed. We spoke to a gentleman named "Chris" who said they could do it and he would order the part and it would be in by 10am and fixed today. He said it it would cost $111 for the part plus the charge of transmission oil and with labor the total would be $349.99 he even gave us the number for the tow truck to pick it up free of charge. Great right? Well when we called back to ask if that price is with or without tax the lady that answered said no one named chris works there. We were like we just spoke to him but ok maybe we heard the name wrong. So we explained everything to her and once again we were quoted $349.99 without tax ok great thats what we wanted to know. Tow truck came yesterday and picked up our car, and when we called today were told the part wasn't ordered, that maybe by Monday or Tuesday and now this gentleman tells us they are going to charge us every day it is there! Of course we are angry if we would have known this we would have waited to have our car towed. Then he tells us the $349.99 is just for labor! What?! When my husband asked to speak to someone in charg, he told us he was in charge and didn't want to pass us to anyone else and told us we were lucky because we weren't charged for the tow. Finally after some back and forth he passed us to someone else who also claimed to be in charge a Mr. Michael Bidaurri we explained the situation and everything that was said and he said that 1) they don't charge for our car being there (great) 2) he couldn't honor the price we were quoted and it would still be by Monday (if we are lucky) but now the price would be $639! Are you kidding me thats ridiculous! We were quoted the same price twice yesterday and all of a sudden today it doubled. After telling him its not our fault and they should honor the price and reprimand the employees for doing things they shouldn't be he dropped it to $500 and some and then to $432 already with tax but it still wouldn't be until Monday that we get our car back. Very disappointed with the way we were treated and now i worry that we will get our car back with something wrong if someone tries to retaliate. Although Mr. Bidaurri tried to help it doesn't change the fact that we feel lied to about the price and are now out of a car until Monday. I will most likely never refer this Charlie Clark Nissan to anyone that needs repairs if i would have known we were going to be treated like this we would have gone to the one in Harlingen.
EDIT: I just received a call from a Mr. AURELIO and all i have to say is this man knows what customer service is about. He called to see how we were doing and listen as we explained our frustrations. He did everything he could to help us get on a payment plan and even tried to get us a rental vehicle(we didn't qualify because of our insurance) but oh how a weight has been lifted off of our shoulders because of him. He even told us if we could switch our insurance he would honor our agreement for the rental. He definitely changed my impression of this location and i will definitely think about recommending them in the future. Mr. Aurelio these extra 3 stars are for you. Thank you for all your help and we will see...
Read moreUPDATE: 3/27/2025 So, believing in second chances, I decided to offer Charlie Clark Nissan Brownsville an opportunity to change my mind from the previous experience and took two different vehicles for a number of issues that included check engine lights and tire repair/replacement. I arrived on time for the appointment and was greeted by Murdoch who took care of me from start to finish. The level of attention to detail and care was what I have come to expect and received this time around. Great job on improving the overall experience and I look forward to my next service visit. When it comes to Charlie Clark Nissan Brownsville, i am no stranger to the standard of excellence that is expected. However, over the last couple of visits, the level of service when it comes to having your vehicle cared for has definitely left for wanting.
Today was no exception as i needed to go in due to a low tire pressure indicator which led me to see a metal object in my tire. I made the call and spoke to Shiela which set me up with an appointment same day which was beneficial.
I arrive about 10 mins prior to my appointment and was greeted by Rudy who took down the information for my arrival and proceeded to handle my repair request. So far so good.
So while i am waiting, i took note of the time as previous experience has made me wary. After about 50 minutes, i finally see my vehicle being moved from the wait line to one of the service bays. There was no additional movement for about another 30 minutes. After approximately 90 minutes, i was approached by Rudy who advised me that the technician found a puncture and it was repairable. I continued to wait for an additional 25 minutes before i was advised that my vehicle is ready.
In short, it took two hours to get my vehicle in, repair what needed to be repaired and out the door. This is not the first time because on previous experience, i had to wait about the same time for an oil change and vehicle inspection and the only reason that i didn't wait any longer was the man himself Charlie was shaking hands and greeting everyone like he did and when he approached me, i voiced my concern and within 15 minutes of expressing myself, i am out the door, keys in my hand and a jar of honey for my troubles.
I ask Charlie Clark Nissan Brownsville what is the point to making an appointment to address concerns if I'm still waiting a prolonged period? According to google search, a typical tire repair can take approximately 15~25 minutes; not two hours. Something needs to be done to avoid these extended...
