2nd time here and my last! Booked the room on Travelocity ($81) a week and a half prior to stay as I needed to be at Knott’s to set up an event . Chose the pay at hotel option. And received confirmation text and emails. When I got to the hotel, after showing my ID, gave my phone number, and showed the confirmation text and emails, was told there was no reservation under my information. I couldn’t get into Travelocity as both the phone signal and WiFi are horrible at the hotel, and as I just arrived by Uber, I had bags, boxes and equipment with me, I couldn’t drag it all around while looking for another hotel …was forced to take a walk in rate of $140+$100 cash deposit…and no receipt was provided or offered. I was told as there was no record of my reservation, I would not be charged a no show fee on my reservation. I was given room 304 all 3 beds had mismatched pillows and numerous burn holes in the bedspread, a picture was missing leaving a board with exposed nails, the fan in the connected bedroom was barely attached to the ceiling with wood screws , the smoke detector was missing having been ripped out of the base, it was obvious a huge hole had been punched into the door and filled with plaster, the light fixture in the bathroom was rusted and covered in spiderwebs and dead bugs, and the shower head was covered in calcium deposits so it could not be adjusted. In the morning after checking out (again no receipt given or offered) and already at work setting up our event I got notification that I was charged a no show fee. So after working all day at the event I had to give up my ride home to head back to the hotel to fix the charges. I was told by the front desk worker (same as check in and checkout) that Travelocity charged me not the hotel. Having worked at a hotel front desk for 2 years I knew that was a lie. When confronted that both the $140 and $81 charges were done through the same IP address linked to a payment as shown in my bank statement, I was told that Travelocity pays the hotel with a prepaid giftcard(another lie), and Travelocity does the charges and refund(another lie) . Finally got a hold of Travelocity told them the situation, they contacted the hotel and the desk clerk processed the refund and gave me a receipt (showing my name phone numbers and reservation information showing it was indeed in their system) while telling me that Travelocity is refunding me. As I was still on the phone with the Travelocity agent I asked to confirm who processed the charges and refund and why nothing was found the hotel system of my reservation(per the desk clerk)….i was told the hotel made the charge and processed the refund and the clerk told them someone had tried to check in on my reservation but wasn’t the correct name , phone number , or had any confirmation notices(I was the only person who went to check in and had all correct identifications) Before I could confront him, the desk clerk took off and walked across the driveway and stood there on his phone until I left. So I stood there staring at him as a line formed for people needing assistance. I would have asked to speak to a manager but I was exhausted and just wanted to get home. the hotel scammed me to make $70 more. You obviously don’t care about these reviews as it’s been the same stories going back almost a decade and my first time staying there was 2 years ago. Just because the hotel caters prostitutes and drug dealers doesn’t mean everyone checking in only has half their brain cells. I hope they scam the wrong person and get what they...
Read moreSo I gave this a descent review because the people working there are just doing their job. So my story isn't a good one in regards to my guests who I booked a room for my sister and her boyfriend. I got the key and let them know there would be 2 people (front desk).||I gave my sister the key told her where the room was and went to the store to grab her some snacks and drinks.||next thing I know her boyfriend finds me at the store and comes up to me and says that she was told that she can not stay there. That I needed to call them because they can't make calls out of the hotel lobby after a certain hour.||Apparently when she tried to find the room she could not so she went to the front desk. They asked for the key and when she gave it to them they asked her if she picked this up off the floor. They asked for her id and she did not have one. ||So, I called to see what was happening and let them know that yes that was my sister and I had given her the key to get in the room. I was told that everyone who is staying in that room has to provide an I.D. I already knew my sister did not have one as she has been telling me she needed to get a new one. (sadly she is very unorganized and doesn't have much sense of responsibility in life)||So her being (dumb) began telling them that they were trying to rip me off and steal the money as they told her to leave the premises (before I was able to let them know that it was my sister and I had given her the key) and would not be giving a refund. I don't blame them...I know my sister and she has a sense of entitlement and a short fuse. I apologized knowing that even though I wasn't there, she probably exploded the situation that could have been handled with a quick talk.||I said I understood and I asked to close out the room (they make you give them $100 cash as a deposit on the room which they give you back upon turning your key back in). I was informed that even though I hadn't stepped foot in the room that I was not going to be offered a refund for the room but could get my deposit back.||I went to the desk signed the paperwork and got my deposit back.||So a simple warning: make sure everyone has their ID have all your ducks in a row with them when checking into this hotel or you risk being told you can't stay there and you will not get a refund for the room you paid for regardless of if you even have stepped inside or not. |||That said I get it....I live in this area...while I would not call Buena Park the worst or even a bad place...sometimes less than desirable people hang out and rent in these areas and businesses need to be on their guard for people they would not wish to stay at their establishment. A sign right at the front desk says "right to refuse service". I just wish there was a more clear policy...I don't think I;ve ever had to give the i.d.'s of everyone staying in a hotel room before other than the person who booked the room.||Ahh well...live...
Read moreI'll start with the positives. I have an auto-immune disease which makes stairs difficult. They put us in a room on the bottom floor at first to adhere to my request. However, this room was disgusting, and they then moved us up to a second-floor room. The rooms are newly remodeled. The headboards on the beds are beautiful. The floors are nicely redone, and the bathroom looks nice as well. The walls are recently repainted but unfortunately have not been wiped down since there is dirt on the walls. This is where the positive ends.||||This is one of the worst places I have ever stayed. The beds are disgusting and there is not a comforter. There are people out and about all throughout the night. It seems like the motel is being used as a halfway house or something. There are definitely people who are living there. Some family living down the walkway from where my family was staying had their little child up screaming outside until past 11:00 pm. There are also people up outside in the parking area making a huge amount of noise. People in the motel were smoking weed everywhere. The rooms might have signs on them that say no smoking, however, it is evident that people are smoking it throughout the entire complex. Our 2nd night in the room we came back to the room smelling like weed. The 3rd night there was screaming and explicit language from girls outside in the parking lot. Then in the morning a man around 7:00 am was screaming telling someone to get the "F" out of there and that the person could go ahead and call the police. That went on for over 5 minutes. ||||The entire neighborhood seems extremely unsafe so much to where I didn't want to walk to Knotts Berry Farm. There were 3 towels for 4 people, and they were never replaced. I had to ask for more towels, and they gave us 2 more. A total of 5 towels for 4 people for 4 nights. There are no hand towels, and the soap made my skin so dry I had to buy extra lotion from the Walgreens next door. Housekeeping never came in for 4 nights. Not once! They never emptied the trash or anything. There is trash on the walkways and some trash that could be tripped on was left on the stairs for the duration of our stay. ||||This Wi-Fi was constantly dropping. There were some times when it would drop every few minutes. The water temperature was adequate. However, the water pressure was almost non-existent. The beds were not the most uncomfortable that I have slept on but not the best. There were only 2 flat, crappy pillows for 4 people. Most hotels tend to have 4 per bed. There is graffiti in the room and one of the dresser drawers did not have a bottom to it. There is not a breakfast and when asked if they even had a plastic fork they just simply said, "no". ||||Use this information as you want. I think if I had known all of this, I would have paid the extra $50 and stayed at a different motel that does not have...
