Wanna know what this reminds me of?
The old Soapbox Racers ride from yesteryears.
Attending Knott's Scary Farm, I tried my best to fit in as many mazes & rides I possibly could. Pony Express was one ride that I haven't been on. It seemed interesting enough. A coaster with seats shaped like horses, with riders leaning forward, clutching handlebars to mimic reins on a horse, and where back & leg supports lock into place to keep the riders secure.
At a standstill, the coaster shoots off, going through various banked turns providing those lateral G's. The ride had good speed throughout the brief, though memorable, 36 seconds. Will it satisfy the adrenaline junkies? No. However, as a middle of the road ride, I find it quite enjoyable.
So, if you're a scaredy cat or not into more intense amusement park rides, Pony Express is a nice wade from the shallow towards the deeper end of the excitement pool. I had an absolute blast riding it & will keep the Pony Express on my must ride list whenever I visit Knott's Berry/Scary...
Read moreA good coaster overall, but it is short in ride time and will leave many underwhelmed.
For a short family coaster, this coaster tends to get a decently long queue (30-90 minutes), so I would recommend heading to it right when the park opens or right before closing to walk on. The seats are pretty cool, as it's like you're riding on a horse. The restraints can be uncomfortable as they press on your lower back. The launch is pretty fun and the ride is smooth and enjoyable, the coaster ends just as it felt like it begun. Sure, it's perfect for families and non thrill-seekers, but I feel like Knott's and Zamperla could have done more with the layout as the ride length does not justify the amount of time you could wait in the queue.
Overall, this coaster is great for Knott's Berry Farm's lineup and it perfectly fits the area of Ghost Town. However, the length of the ride can be extremely underwhelming can be disappointing especially if you've waited a long time. Fun...
Read morereally loved Pony Express—it’s a short, fun little coaster that’s perfect for families and anyone looking for a more relaxed thrill. The trains are super cool and designed to make you feel like you’re actually riding a pony, which adds a unique and charming touch to the whole experience. It’s not super intense, but that’s what makes it such a great chill ride to enjoy with friends or family.
The coaster’s smooth pace and fun layout made it a highlight for me during my visit. It’s definitely one of those rides that brings a smile and offers a nice break from the bigger, faster coasters. If you’re at Knott’s Berry Farm and want something lighthearted and enjoyable, Pony Express is a must-try—I...
