On Saturday, 11/12/16, my family and I stopped by this place, like I have done so many other times after visiting Knott's Berry Farm for the day. Our fun experience at Knott's Berry Farm turned out to be a terrible experience just from the treatment I received from the employees at Chicken To Go. I waited in line, placed my order and paid but when I stepped away I realized I forgot to order the boysenberry butter for $1.29. My fault, I forgot. But I kindly asked Carolina, the server taking orders, if she can charge me for the butter after she finishes with the guests that were behind me. She told me to hold on. So I waited. Then she helped the next guest after them so I tried to get her attention again. So she came up to and said, did you have a question? I told her again that I forgot to order the boysenberry butter and if she can add it to my order. I had the $2.00 in my hand ready to pay for it. She said, if you want to buy butter you'll need to get back in line and she pointed behind me. I looked back and the line was out the door. I turned back and said, ARE YOU KIDDING ME? She said no. I said, I just want to add butter to my order. She said it wouldn't be fair to the other customer's who have been waiting. She wasn't a pleasant girl and looked satisfied to send me back to the back of the line. She was rude. So I asked another employee if this what they were going to make me do so I can have boysenberry butter with my order. He said yes, that's our policy. WOW. I can understand if I was trying to cut in line, or order another big meal but butter? I'm not taking away from someone's place in line for more chicken. IT's BUTTER! This is terrible customer service. And if this is indeed their policy and they enforce their employees to treat their customers this way, NO THANK YOU. I will not go back there again. I do plan to visit Knott's again in a few weeks but not this place. Oh and the chicken is terrible too. It was probably a combination of bitter from your staff and the blandness of the chicken itself. I don't know what happened but the chicken is not how I remember it. The love from the...

Social Distancing Review
Watching the local news one day, I noticed Knott's Berry Farm opened up their California Marketplace again (Mrs. Knott's Chicken-to-Go, Berry Market & Farm Bakery) for online curbside pickup & takeout. All the years that I've lived 10 minutes away by street, I've never tried Mrs. Knott's famous chicken. Contemplating there would be less customers than usual, and in need of a business to review & support, I arrived at Knott's Berry Farm's California Marketplace as soon as it opened.
3 piece Chicken meal- With a price tag of $12.50 + tax, the amusement park pricing was expected. The individual pieces of chicken were of decent size, and the breading was well seasoned & crispy. However, better chicken can be had for a lot less from your local fast food chicken places. The included corn & mashed potatoes and gravy were great accompaniments. The gravy used was chicken gravy. The highlight of the 3 piece chicken meal? The biscuits w/ boysenberry preserves! I enjoyed these so much, I came back a few days later to order a dozen.
Dozen biscuits- Mrs. Knott's biscuits are flaky, not crumbly. The boysenberry preserve that comes w/ them is very good! Sour sweet, it titillates the palate. At $6.00, 1 dozen biscuits w/ boysenberry preserve is certainly worth it.
Service was fine. I was the first customer of the day on both occasions. The wait was minimal for the 3 piece meal, and the dozen biscuits were given to me right after I ordered. Online curbside pickup is available, but I prefer strolling down the California Marketplace for pickup myself. Parking entrance is on Crescent & Grand.
I'm glad I finally took it upon myself to try the famed Mrs. Knott's fried chicken. While I wasn't blown away or impressed with the chicken, the biscuits certainly made the effort worthwhile, especially smeared with boysenberry preserve. I can see myself coming back regularly for a biscuit run.
Overall thoughts Chicken - meh Biscuits w/ boysenberry...
Read moreIt’s been a really long time since I have been here. The food is decent enough but again it’s been a long time and I haven’t had the food here since COVID-19, so I was having a craving for the chicken.
I realized the crappiness of my experience. I asked for the 3 piece meal and I asked for white meat. At the time I didn’t understand why the cashier was trying to charge me extra for the breast…then I thought as I got home that the cashier didn’t give me the right order because I just asked what I thought would be 2 wings and a breast.
A week later, I realized what the problem is. Before COVID-19, when I asked for the 3 piece chicken and asked for white meat I would given like 2 breast pieces and a wing without being charged extra. Before COVID-19 the restaurant itself would be open at like 7 AM but no longer.
It’s sad really that the company has to try to make up for loss sales by charging extra to its customers to no longer providing the same services it use to.
Hopefully the merger with Six Flags occurred and things will get better but Knotts pretty much lost me...
