My stay at Knott's Hotel was a mixed bag. The hotel's farmstyle ambiance provided a refreshing change from typical chain hotels, creating a cozy and inviting atmosphere throughout.
The front desk staff set a positive tone with their warm and helpful demeanor, making check-in a breeze. Their hospitality was exemplary and a highlight of the visit.
However, the rooms, although nicely decorated, had some practical shortcomings. The bathroom countertop was disappointingly small, which made it difficult to organize toiletries effectively. Additionally, considering the price, the room size felt somewhat cramped. One issue we encountered was with housekeeping: despite having a "Do Not Disturb" sign on our door for our entire 3-night stay to prevent staff from entering, they conducted a "wellness check" after two days while we were away. While I understand their intention, this did feel like an intrusion of privacy. In comparison, I had just stayed at a competing theme park hotel for the same duration prior to this visit without experiencing any similar issues. I have stayed at numerous hotels for over 3 nights and have never encountered an unannounced room entry.
The onsite restaurant offered a breakfast buffet that, despite the enticing food, consistently subjected us to an infuriating 20-minute wait upon arrival on multiple days. What exacerbated the frustration was the sight of multiple open tables once we were finally seated (see attached picture), rendering the initial delay nonsensical. This contrasted sharply with our experience at a competing theme park hotel, where we waited just 5 minutes in line and were promptly seated upon reaching the front. To compound matters, approximately a quarter of the restaurant was dedicated to a pointless seating area (not for eating) that remained nearly empty, leaving guests to stare in frustration at the abundance of unused dining tables nearby. Why not convert those tables into additional dining space and eliminate the unnecessary wait altogether?
The buffet itself showcased outstanding food quality, yet the selection was somewhat limited, featuring only about six hot items and notably lacking a toaster.
While staying onsite for easy access to Knott's Berry Farm was convenient, there were no additional benefits. Unlike other amusement parks, hotel guests did not receive early entrance privileges. Furthermore, they provided printed vouchers for breakfast and admittance to the theme park upon check-in, which was cumbersome and antiquated—they were printed as a receipt, and we were told that if we lost them, they would not be replaced. We were not able to add the tickets to their app, and they often malfunctioned at the gate. On one occasion, gate staff had to manually input the lengthy barcode numbers for all four of us. Out of all the issues with our stay, this was the most baffling. Why not just track our breakfast visits like every other hotel does at the restaurant using my room number? Why couldn't we add our tickets to the app like every other theme park?
Overall, Knott's Hotel provides a unique and somewhat enjoyable stay with areas that urgently need attention. While the charming farmstyle décor and exceptional service from the staff stand out, improvements in room amenities, breakfast service logistics, and guest experience enhancements related to the theme park visitation process are crucial for a more consistent and...
Read moreI was blown away with how modern, slick yet rustic the room was at Knott’s Berry Farm Hotel. It had obviously been renovated and it shows. Every little detail to match the theme of the park was included in the room. I had a view of the pool and the windows didn’t open in the room either. Air conditioning worked but I could never make it get hot and when it was on cold the unit vibrated like the ghost rider roaring around the corner in the theme park. The bathroom had fancy lighting around the mirror which you could control by pressing the mirror. There’s a closet for hanging clothes and a seperate bath and toilet next to the wash room. The shower was a bathtub / shower set up with the curtain. I personally hate these set ups as water goes everywhere. The room overall was quite small and I struggled to find room for my suitcase which is a standard travel suitcase for a 4 week vacation.
Unfortunately my visit also came with some bad. The doors are quite heavy in the room so when they close they slam. Other guests had no concern closing their door softly so slams all through the night. I was also disappointed with the lacklustre integration with the park in terms of experience. Sure, tickets were slightly cheaper but there was no wow factor for staying there unlike SeaWorld Resort in Australia that offers early access, transport and character appearances for guests. The front of house staff was also disappointing from check in and right through the stay. There was no real interest, well that’s what I witnessed anyways. I went to buy a drink to take with me on a walk and tried to pay cash - I was snapped at that it was a cashless hotel only. That’s fine however as a visitor to the US, I found TSA officials more pleasant. The restaurant staff were unsure of gluten free options nor tried to see if anything on the menu could be accommodated to make me eat there. I also needed help with some medication (there’s a fridge in room and that was fine for my stay) but as I was travelling with medication that requires it to be kept at 2 degrees I asked reception if I could put the ice brick in the freezer overnight to assist. The answer was no. Really disappointing as it also appears front of house don’t care about the health and welfare of guests. I’ve never had an issue in any other hotel in the world who didn’t help with this. There was also no walk through on what the hotel had to offer nor any information in the room on the area or services of the hotel like a free shuttle to Disney. Good to find that out when I was leaving. Note as well there’s next to nowhere to eat unless you want to walk.
One really big positive though and by far in all my travels, Knott’s hotel did this really great was back of house. The back of house staff were attentive, polite and very friendly. Going that extra mile by opening doors, pressing lift buttons, asking how your day was probably something they just do. Shame they stay back of house because they should probably be promoted to front.
All in all, no issues with my room, my biggest issue is with the attitude of staff and unwillingness to assist a...
Read moreMy wife and I had an INCREDIBLE experience at the Knotts hotel. We stayed for two nights as we visited the Disney parks, and were shocked to find our hotel accommodations to be by far the highlight of our trip.
The whole hotel has been recently redone and you can tell because of how nice and clean and beautiful all the accommodations are. The minute you walk into the lobby you’re greeted with something that feels more in line with a high end Marriott than anything else in a similar price range. Everything is classy, shiny, new, and beautiful while still keeping a farmhouse aesthetic in keeping with the rest of Knott’s.
The staff were extremely friendly and always willing to help with even the most obscure request - such as when my wife needed a sewing kit and they had one delivered to the room more promptly than I’ve ever had housekeeping respond in the past.
The bed was a firm but extremely comfortable king, decked out with some brand new and modern furniture - including, to our delight, a semi-smart-mirror in the bathroom with built in light dimmer controls. Perfect for when my wife was doing her make up in the morning!
They also have a very convenient service where you can schedule breakfast to be delivered directly to your door in the morning by filling out a little card. Our food was delivered right on time on a very nice tray with cute little glass coffee mugs that my wife wanted to take home. Prices are extremely reasonable and everything we had at the restaurant (we did breakfast both mornings, once in the dining room, once delivered to the room) was amazing.
The only negative of our trip was that the advertised Disneyland shuttle was a bit inconsistent in what times it would be scheduled for each day. That being said, the hotel staff were extremely helpful in getting us the correct information when we asked about it even if they had to look it up, and when we did get ourselves a shuttle back from the parks on our second night our driver George was absolutely lovely. He even explained to us that apparently they had just lost a number of drivers and were in the process of revamping the schedule so hopefully this small blemish on an otherwise wonderful stay will be rectified soon. Plus if every shuttle driver is as friendly and accommodating as George, then that’ll just be yet another reason to recommend this hotel.
I cannot praise this hotel enough. It truly is the best place I’ve ever stayed in Anaheim, and for only slightly more than $100 a night, it’s one of the best deals you can get period. Highly highly highly recommended, Knotts has truly outdone themselves. If they bring this sort of quality to the park as well, Disney should be shaking in...
