I made the horrible mistake of making reservations for three nights at this location Forest Lodge 'Garden Room'. I had no expectations of grandeur mind you, but basing my decision off the photos on the website. It looked like a cozy and charming, bright room. I was utterly devastated when I walked into the room, so much so I almost burst into tears. It was disgusting and so bloody small. When you open the door you are in a 10x6 (approx) 'room' which has a small round table and two chairs - that is your 'living space. Along side that was a 2x2 so called wet bar. One TV (let me say this place could not even bother to put in any cable channels) in the 'queen' bedroom and I guess everyone is expected to pile on the bed and watch TV- pretty much because there is NO PLACE ELSE TO SIT COMFORTABLY. How happy. The so-called Garden Room should be advertised as a closet. Do NOT waste your time and money! If you go by the wide angle lens they use to display this room one would be tempted to assume it was a suitable size. NOT SO!!!! The only 'social seating area' + wet bar was the size of a small closet, two adults were tripping over each other. The queen size room one could hardly get around the bed which was VERY uncomfortable and the twin bed area, no place to put your clothes, and the bed again was uncomfortable. The carpeting was indoor/outdoor and worn out around the seams. It was also very cold. The refrigerator leaked water and all they could do was give me towels to soak it up. All in all it was THE most horrible experience in my life in respect to hotels and I have traveled the world. Who or whatever company owes this so-called boutique (new name for old, musty and outdated) should be ashamed to promote it. I took photos on my phone I will attempt to upload them as possible. PLEASE DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY...

Seriously, ZERO acoustics. Very noisy and disruptive. In addition, the Forest Inn staff are instructed to utilize the reserved Forrest Inn guests’ parking when the guests’ cars are gone. So when you, as a Forrest Inn guest come back to park, your parking space is now taken by their staff. So you, as their cherished guest, must run all over the property with your own car double parked in a dense Carmel neighborhood (with no parking) to find out what staff member is parked in your reserved space (to have them move their car someplace the management should be providing their staff members in the first place). The location is great, the grounds are nice but the Weston/Dali Cottages’ paper thin walls are not worth the Forrest Inn nightly charges. But thank you Ana for crediting us back one night when we provided this feedback to you so we could check out one day earlier...
