Update 9/10/17: continual fantastic service from this lovely boutique. The staff not only remembers you (a remarkable feat for a busy boutique in a town visited by tourists from all over the world) but remembers what skincare/cosmetics you were interested in and makes recommendations based on your interests and needs. They're always helpful and knowledgeable, but never push you to purchase anything you don't want. An absolute jewel of a shop.

First-rate customer service at this skin care and cosmetics boutique in Carmel-by-the-sea. No pretentious attitude. The store is staffed by friendly and extremely knowledgeable ladies who truly take the time to learn what you're looking for, what issues you're having with your skin (if that's what you're there for) and seek out the best products for you. They don't push you in to making a purchase, they explain why a product would, or wouldn't meet your needs, and service is ALWAYS top notch. I was treated so well on my visits to the store while on a trip through CA (and I just made small purchases at the time), I've continued to patronize this store via mail order. After a long crazy work week, on a weekend away in Carmel, I realized I forgot to pack a few necessities in my rush to get out of town. Frustrated, I was trying to figure out where I could go to pick up a few items without having to drive to a mall and find a Sephora. A quick search popped up Cos Bar and I was happy it was within walking distance of my hotel. It was easy to find on the 3rd floor right off of Ocean Ave. I walked in and was greeted warmly by Carrie who asked how she could help. I was thrilled to see they carried Oribe which was exactly what I was looking for. I then asked about a night cream as my face had been acting up and she and another lovely woman helped me select a great product from Orlane that I am loving on my face! I then proceeded to buy a bunch of other great items and literally had to stop myself before it got out of hand.

Cos Bar has amazing products! La Mer, Chanel, la prairie, Orlane, Coola, Jack Black, Slip silk and many others. The store is bright and airy and the service was wonderful. I am so happy to have Cos Bar as THE cosmetics shop in...

Went in with the best intention to buy a select fragrance I have been looking for and was very intrigued by this little shop ! But sadly the way I was treated by an older lady working was very disappointing and disrespectful. I asked about a certain fragrance and was told it was rather more expensive than what I could afford is what she was trying to say. And then gave me a ridiculous price when doubling its actual value just to get me to go away. And pricing 50MLs and 100MLs the same. Made a rude comment to a friend, to me and I will not buy from here ever. I wanted to make the purchase to prove a point but what good will that make ? I’d be prideful. Learn humility!! Just because a person is dressed a certain way and is of a certain ethnicity doesn’t mean we can’t afford your overpriced fragrances that are 150$ less retail online. God bless the staff. Have...
