PhoneFix Center — Local services in Carson City

Closing my jacket pocket in the car door only to realize that my cellphone was in said pocket - GAHHHHH- shattered into complete slivers of finger piercing shards of glass and time to hit up my cellphone provider on what are my options. Well their only suggestion is my insurance or a local company that fixes screens out of the local coffee house - ummm not feeling that.

Soooo after contacting the out of the back of the van/coffee house and knowing if I go through the insurance company I will end up with a refurbished phone I opt to searching the internet and Yelp. Up pops Phone Fix Center among multiple others in the area and my husband and I begin reading reviews, calling the different places and asking questions. We decided to keep our business local based on reviews, professionalism and honesty when we talked to them both times we called after shopping around and we're UBER happy we did.

Upon arrival of the store we were greeted by the same young man we spoke with on the phone and he immediately put me at ease about turning my cellphone over for the repair. He assured me that my phone would be in good hands and walked us through the process to include that they would guarantee their services by backing it with a warranty - WAHOO! When my phone was ready for pickup before I left the store to assure that everything was working fine they had me run through a few tests - make a call, text, take a picture, test wifi, etc.

I was so impressed with the honesty and service provided that I felt compelled to write a review on PhoneFix Center. For months my Samsung S8+ (Infinity Screen) had a cracked screen and was told that the repair would cost between $375.00 and $400.00 to repair. Having a costly phone has its downsides when it comes to repairs. With so many other priorities and searching for a reputable computer center, I found myself living with the unsightly crack. Once I decided that the crack was too much of a distraction to an otherwise great phone, I started doing research based on reputations and reviews. I decided to give PhoneFix Center a try and met Karen at the Carson City Office. She took one look at the phone and told me that I would not need to leave my phone, the "Infinity Screen" was not cracked and that only the glass shield which I had installed at Verizon, when first purchased, was cracked, an $18.00 part. She searched her inventory and found the exact glass shield for my phone (which covered the Infinity Screen better than the old one since the old shield never did cover the screen completely) while I waited. I was prepared to leave the phone and pay the $375-$400 price tag, but rather than take advantage of someone who would not have known any different, Karen choose honesty over profit and created a loyal customer. My girlfriend recently had her phone fixed here and they messed up the screen really bad and it started to lift. We went to the store to see if they could fix it and they said that the warranty was expired, despite the damage being their fault. They were very rude and disrespectful to us when we came in with our concerns. It was very expensive to fix and we cannot afford to fix it again. I would give them 0 stars if I could. Please go somewhere else if you have any concerns with your devices.

Edit: now he’s responding to these comments being a smart ass… if you were using high quality product, you would have all these people leaving reviews about their issues. It’s okay though, I found an AMAZING place in Reno that will fix your phone for $97 if you purchase the $25 monthly subscription. It’s a great deal because they give you a ONE YEAR warranty and you can bring in any devices you have if you have the subscription. It’s called Ubreakitifixit in Reno.
