Unbelievably bad experience. |I just stayed here 1/14/24 - 1/17/24. I’ve been to the Cape a lot - I have family there. I chose this inn because of the fabulous reviews. |My first issue was trying to get someone to get back to me after making my reservation. The website states that they will make arrangements to use a gym nearby and to schedule a massage at a nearby spa. I called and emailed asking for a confirmation that these things would be taken care of. No response. I called again and once again - 3 times. No one answers and I wasn’t getting a response. I received a text a few days later stating that this is the best way to get in touch with them. Someone did call me and I asked about the gym and the woman said she didn’t know anything about that or the massage. She stated she would call a manger and ask. I ended up finding a gym on my own. They did arrange a massage at a local spa which was very nice. |They didn’t get back to me about that until the day before I was checking in.||I drove 6 hours to get to the inn, and when I got there, no one was there for me to check in with. When I made the reservation I notified them that I would be there for a late check in. There’s a sign with a bell stating to ring it if you see no staff. I rang the bell and waited 5 minutes. I rang it agin and waited another 5 minutes. I rang it several times in a row and still no one answers. It was VERY cold and super windy and the heat didn’t seem to be on. I called the number for the inn and it went directly to voicemail. I hung up, checked the number, and called back, still right to VM. I waited a bit and called back and this time I left a message. I called again and again and no one answered or called me. I was there for about 40 minutes thinking I was going to sleep on one of the couches in the sitting area, then I received a text stating that my room was upstairs, unlocked, and the key was inside. I went up to the room and it was frigid. I had my coat and scarf on because it was so cold. I had reserved a room with a fireplace and there was no way to turn it on. The thermostat on the wall wouldn’t work and the fireplace remote was missing. Again I called the number and after several calls, it was answered by a man who seemed very annoyed that I was calling him. He told me he’d come in about 5 minutes, which he did. He treated me like I was stupid and couldn’t even turn heat on, until he tried several times and couldn’t get it working either. He said “I guess I’ll get you a different room”. Really!!?? You “guess”?! I told him I paid extra for the room with a fireplace, so he did get me a different room that had a fireplace. No apology, no offer to make amends for the problems. |I went to bed shortly after getting there because it was late in the evening by this time. |The bed was very comfortable, the pillows and linens were nice.|The nest morning I went to the dining room and there were 4 other people there waiting for breakfast. They had their winter coats on because it was so cold in the dining room!!|I left and went to get breakfast somewhere else.|When I was going to bed that night, I felt wind coming into the room and thought the window must be open. I pulled up the blinds and an entire pane of the window was missing!|All of that and the only time I saw any staff there was when the man came to give me another room. |And as I write, there was no apology, no offer for a discount because of the problems, not even a staff member around to voice my concerns to. ||I will never stay there again. When I was at the local spa, they told me the owners who were there for many years sold it. I believe that all the good reviews must be from when the previous owners were there. ||Spend your money where people actually appreciate your...
Read moreUPDATE I wrote this review as fairly as possible in the hopes that someone, anyone would contact me in regards to the situation that this review was written under. It has been 2 weeks and not 1 reliable, understanding, responsible individual from this so called B&B has responded to this review nor tried to contact me by any means. This speaks volumes on how irresponsible and unreasonable and unresponsive this B&B is and I am SO grateful that this trip did not work out despite having bilateral pneumonia and being hospitalized.
Some things just have a way of working themselves out
I hope others read this review and take it all into consideration.
In order to write this review, fairly, I have to go back. I lost my 23 year old son in the military June 9, 2018. 4 days after my birthday. He would have been 29 on Dec 23rd. So needless to say the holidays are a really really difficult time to get through alone and I mean I am all alone. Anyone who has ever lost a loved one, particularly a child and holidays are a toxic mix. So after much research I found what I thought the perfect solution for not only this holiday but future Christmas and his birthdays. This trip that was keeping me together giving me something to look forward to never happened. Dec 10 I got the flu. Ok I got this I thought Ilp baby myself back to health. No. 4 trips in 1 week to the ER for breathing difficulty 2 ambulances to my house for treatment I end up getting bilateral pneumonia and admitted to the hospital. I called & called to explain what was going on to no avail. There are no voicemails hence you cannot leave any messages no return calls on the numerous times I tried to call. No responses back to texts they sent and I even attempted email. Nothing. Christmas Eve I was back in the ERi can't seem to shake this. Now yesterday, Dec 28 there is an attempt on my checking account for over $400 for charges to this B&B. Charge didn't go through thank God because I keep my debit frozen when not in use but the disappointment, lack of getting in touch with me sending of text messages saying we hope you enjoyed your stay (what stay) and then the audacity to try to charge my account when I've been trying diligently to get through to SOMEONE, ANYONE so as to explain what happened and to be blatantly ignored is not something I'm tolerate of. It's too bad I was really looking forward to future stays somewhere to call my own during a most difficult time of year only to be shunned and have my checking...
