I had a very sour incident with this store so therefore, I will describe that incident first before continuing on with an objective review of the store.
A few weeks ago, It was my first time in the store and I was shopping for pots/pans along with other household essentials. I was walking around the store, finding what I need when I took a pause to open up my shopping list, to my surprise I realized that I was being followed and eventually confronted by the security guard (who left his post at the front). It's unfortunate that someone like me (Asian wearing expensive tech gadgets) could be profiled, I can't imagine the harassment coming towards customers who are or are presenting as less privileged. At the time, I didn't want to escalate anything further so I just stopped my shopping and checked out (total was +$80 for what it's worth).
When I came back today, I brought my concern up to security (different guard) and he rudely brushed me off without even apologizing for the incident. I then talked to a manager who was very professional about it. She did mention that the security is just on edge due to the area's crime rate.
The whole security team needs retraining on professionalism.
To segue, I usually shop at the Cabrini Green store (a store in a higher-crime area) and never had any issues. That store also more closely resembles what you expect from Target. The options at this store are incredibly limited and prices are very high (although I'm not 100% sure if that's because they don't carry the more affordable options or if their prices really are higher). The centralized location of this store makes it somewhat nice to grab routine stuff like paper towels or chips but I can't recommend it for bigger purchases such as cooking or...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis review is long overdue so I'm finally sharing my personal shopping š experiences here so all the locals will know how wonderful the staff is here at this location in Chicago's River North.
First of all, dogs š are always welcome so if you happen to be passing by and you have your pup with you it's perfect alright to bring your pet in here.
You can find everything you need here from beauty products, housewares, pet supplies, groceries, wellness products and cookware.
Some of the groceries are extremely well priced like eggs, salad and packaged meats.
I love coming here for light grocery shopping and gummy vitamins but you can find pretty much anything here.
The only minor complaint I have is this particular location doesn't carry the spiritual, glass, 7 day candles like the Ukrainian Village target. If management could bring those wonderful candles šÆ to this location that would help me so much!
Regardless customer service here is beyond excellent. Everyone here is extremely friendly and invested in helping their customers have a seamless shopping experience.
Adrian always is attentive each time I shop here and his entire staff always has a warm smile and greeting especially if I bring in my dog.
Love shopping here and...

I bought a PS5 to pickup at this location right before taking a flight to Chicago. While I was on the plane and within 10 minutes of the order being available for pickup, this store marked it as āpicked upā even though I was the only authorized person and, again, I was on a plane. Target WILL NOT refund my money. My account was not hacked as I use a complicated unique password and no other unauthorized purchases have been made; itās literally impossible for anybody to hack my account and approach a store to pickup an order. This Target store GAVE AWAY MY ORDER and WONT REFUND.
