Sichuan Palace — Restaurant in Cincinnati

If you’re considering coming here, please read this. I have been a fan of this restaurant ever since they opened. Everything was tasty, until the price started going higher and higher, but the awesome flavors have changed. Here’s what happened: My family and I have gone to the restaurant a few times this year, we all noticed that the beef dish that we always ordered become extremely watered down, lack of flavor, we reported to the waiter and went back again today, nothing changed. The price got crazy high compared to before. 12$ for the mini appetizer wontons. Being part asian I really feel quite ashamed of the high price. Anyways, we told the same waiter that the exact same dish is watered down, he brought it back to the chef and replied to us that the chef said nothing is wrong with it??? I was like bro, i’ve ordered this dish at least a dozen times, how do i not know????? The two waiters just kept on interrupting us from eating and kept on saying sorry, i felt kidnapped by their apologies, the restaurant owner said the same thing how the chef didn’t change and the ingredients are still the same. But that DOES NOT change the fact that the flavors were watered down compared to before, and we are not the only costumers that noticed. Instead of making it up by making a new one or giving a discount, the entire restaurant chose to do nothing but a “i’m sorry.” I feel like the good intentions were no longer there, and they just want to make money off of people, and it’s really sad that how I used to...

I would like to rate this restaurant 5 stars based on previous experiences, but I didn't have a very good experience when I did carry out here on July 10. I've been here several times with friends and really enjoy the food here - the inside is spacious and the owner is very nice. However, when my girlfriend called to place an order, the person answering the call was extremely rude and said he had other things to do - he clearly did not want to take an order on the phone. The same person was also very rude and disrespectful to an older friend of mine (who is 80 years old) on the phone . I can understand that the server was stressed and perhaps the place is understaffed, but that isn't an excuse to be rude to someone. I hope that he and others can be trained to be nicer to customers and provide better customer service.

The food this time was okay - the crab rangoon wasn't very good and was half empty. The eggplant with diced pork didn't have much flavor. I like the owner of Sichuan Palace and I have enjoyed their food previously, but I'm not sure if I'll...

I was searching for traditional Sichuan food and I came across this restaurant based on the reviews. The food was amazing and full of flavor! I felt like I was in Chengdu, China, again!

Remember, this isn't your typical "American Chinese" food, so educate yourself ahead of time. It is important to know that this is authentic traditional Chinese food with lots of spiciness and strong flavors. If you have been to China before, particularly Sichuan, then you will know what I mean.

I ordered the dry shrimp with red peppers and the Sichuan dumplings. I was highly impressed with the service, hospitality, and overall quality of food. The restaurant was super clean too! They're also many items to choose from on the their extensive menu.
