Krishna is a really small place so seating is limited to 4 booths. They do their spice 1-6 I think. The obvious staples like Naan and Curry are very good, I think the curry they use is yellow curry as opposed to the red you see at some Indian buffets up north. The chicken pieces they put in the curry are always gratuitous and when you order to go you get a small clamshell styrofoam to-go box filled (they literally fill and pack down both sides) with basmati rice. I've had their vegetarian samosas and they are very good, a little more doughy rather than flaky but nicely seasoned. Their saag paneer is also very good. The staff are usually pragmatic men of few words every time I've been there, and I can appreciate that due to the fact the 3 or 4 of them might get slammed by a crowd at any time and it sounds like they get a lot of to-go orders. They are very fast about getting the food out. They do not have fountain drinks available, only cans to buy as you want. I think I've seen drinkable yogurt, milk, and juice in there a few times too. They are a little pricey considering the availability of Indian food around the city, but they are right there in Clifton right next to the UC campus, so be mindful of the cost of placement. I like Krishna, I've never been disappointed, consistent quality and very little hmm-ing...
Read moreDefinitely an above average Indian spot. The chicken tikka saag was a solid step up from what you get at a standard Indian restaurant. It tasted a bit "greener" which is definitely a welcome change, imo. The rice was basic, seemingly just ghee and rice. I prefer my rice with a bit more flavor (cumin seed, etc), but that's a minor quibble. The samosas and chutney were pretty standard.
Parking was surprisingly manageable on a UC gameday; there were a few spots on Calhoun within a block. The interior is spartan and old but still clean. There are only a few tables, and it's clearly geared toward takeout. No complaints about the service - timely and friendly enough.
Tbh, I'd probably give it four stars in a vacuum, but there are plenty of inferior Indian places in Cincinnati with better reviews, so I gave it an extra star to...
Read moreThe food was decent and they had large portions but not really a place you would want to dine in. We ordered 3 stars out of 6 and it was more spicy than we expected. They only had 3 or 4 booth type tables squeezed in a very small space and didnt bring us menus when we sat down. They also only had styrofoam take out boxes and plastic forks & spoons to serve us when we dined in and did not bring us water. Which is fine for take out but I prefer a real plate and silverware when I dine in. I am also unsure if there was a bathroom. If there was I didnt see a sign for it. The owners and employees were nice but we felt mostly ignored as they spoke with us only when we approached conversation with them and announced...
